Christmas is Tomorrow LIVE (Kay Meek Centre the Performing Arts)
This is a brand new video created by Terri Breeze about a very special moment in time. In the winter of 2017, Karen wrote and produced a Christmas play/musical. The play was put on at the Kay Meek Centre for the Performing Arts and had 14 musicians and actors in the cast. Before this event, members of the group had put on several variety shows and the Kay Meek event signified a pinnacle moment in time for the friends. It was a fabulous night. The play itself featured talent ranging from 4 to 74 years old, had music and lots of laughs. Even the minister popped by for a festive word and then proceeded to wow the crowd on his electric guitar. Santa and Mrs. Claus came too, handing out candy to all the show attendees who claimed they were good that year! 由加博金融冠名赞助，北美Ismart多元文化协会主办、北美精英教育集团（NANAG）和北美青年社团（NYS）协办的“爱在深秋，情满狮门” 慈善义演，在西温Kay Meek Arts Centre剧场拉开帷幕。我们以爱的名义举办一场为狮门医院筹款的大型慈善演活动。

2019年2月2日，由大威德登山队和北美启明星多元文化青少年协会共同主办的‘2019北岸华人春节联欢晚会’在西温哥华剧院（The Kay Meek Arts Centre）盛大举办，本次活动携手加拿大青少年基金会、加拿大西北温华人华侨联合总会等温哥华众多华人团体共同为非盈利组织西温青少年乐团（WVYB Society）募集善款。春晚以多元文化艺术交流为特色，中西文化交融，相得益彰。除了有西温青少年乐团的精彩表演外，以西北温本地以及温哥华等城市高水平的艺术表演团体为到场观众呈献精彩纷呈的视听艺术盛宴。

Ballet Bloch Canada's - Alice in Wonderland
Alice in Wonderland is a classical ballet and contemporary dance production presented by Artistic Director Tracy-Lea Bloch. The full-length ballet is choreographed by Tracy-Lea Bloch, Chloe Legaspi, Muriel Teague, Thomas Teague, Monica Proenca and Mariana Moraes. It was produced for the 2018-19 students from Ballet Bloch Canada's ballet school and stars graduates Emily Hogan and Jessica Hubbs. The cast includes professional artists Tyler Carver (Royal Winnipeg Ballet) and Jake Preece (Ballet West, Salt Lake City USA). The performance was presented in West Vancouver at Kay Meek Arts Centre on 15 June 2019. The training studio is in Lower Lonsdale in North Vancouver and offers ballet classes and contemporary dance to boys and girls age 3yrs-25yrs.

Community Combats Prescription Drug Abuse
(West Vancouver, January 21, 2013) Minister of Health Leona Aglukkaq recently announced new rules to address prescription drug abuse. The new rules include tough new conditions on licenses for companies that distribute potentially addictive drugs like OxyContin and OxyNeo.
After working for the last year on an initiative to combat the abuse of prescription drugs, MP John Weston yesterday held a Community Forum and Roundtable meeting on prescription drug abuse. Hosted by the West Vancouver School District at the Kay Meek Centre, the event included Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse CEO Michel Perron, West Vancouver Police Department Constable Glenn Marshall and a panel of key stakeholders. We felt this was an excellent opportunity for our parent and student community to learn and ask questions about this troubling health issue, said Chris Kennedy, West Vancouver School District, CEO and Superintendent.
Weston has continued to seek support from the Ministries of Health, Public Safety, and Justice for the creation of a National Take-Back Day, on which Canadians will be encouraged to return unused prescription drugs for their safe disposal.
Once again, congratulations to Mr. Weston and his team on your successes to date, said West Vancouver Police Chief Peter Lepine, I continue to look forward to working with him and others on any initiative that will enhance our ability to save lives, particularly those of our youth.
Illicit use of licit drugs is an urgent national health issue, says Michel Perron, Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse. Recent national data shows that in the past year, more than 20 percent of Canadians aged 15 years and older (1 in 5 Canadians) reported non-medical use of prescription pain relievers, stimulants and sedatives.
A National Take-Back Day will help to reduce the risk of pharmaceutical drugs falling into the wrong hands and causing significant harm and, in some cases, death from overdose.
Building on my previous Private Member's Bill, Combating Crystal Meth Act, the abuse of prescription drugs has been identified as the new frontier in the battle against substance abuse, said Weston. I am grateful to the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse, the West Vancouver Police Department, and the Canadian Association of Police Chiefs for working with me to combat this abuse. Among other things, we are looking at the creation of a National Drug Take Back Day to facilitate safe disposal of unwanted prescription drugs. People throughout the community have joined with me on this.
