Kayaking in Alaska
There are few places better for kayaking in Alaska, as this video shows.

An Unexpected Day in Seward, Alaska
How about a little US history? Seward is named after William H. Seward, President Lincoln's Secretary of State; responsible for negotiating the purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1867. It is often known as Seward's Folly. Right! Bows of gratitude to Seward for his perseverance.
Seward is gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park. A big cruise ship port. And has a gazillion activities for adventurers and fabulous wildlife viewing!

Seward, Alaska in the Winter | Anchorage Day Trip
ALASKAN WINTER ROAD TRIP / Scenic Drive in Alaska + Visiting Seward, Alaska
SEWARD, ALASKA
Seward is about a two and a half-hour drive from Anchorage along the scenic coastal Seward Highway. It makes for a great day trip from Anchorage. Truly, though, this winter road trip in Alaska was absolutely stunning and one of the most beautiful drives we've ever been on.
Once we got to Seward, we visited a little coffee shop and walked around the town a bit. There are a few hikes you could do to glaciers from there but the roads were closed due to snow and ice.
PLANNING A WEDDING WHILE TRAVELING
At the end of the video, you'll get a little sneak peek into what it was like to plan a wedding while we were traveling all around the world... And also what it's like to plan a wedding with Chris. ????

The Worst Way to Visit Monument Valley - TRIPPED S2 E10
The Worst Way to Visit Monument Valley
Hey Tourists! You can’t leave Arizona or Utah and not visit Monument Valley! (Or so we’ve been told). In retrospect, it wasn’t worth the effort to drive out of the way and visit… as we’re finding is more and more the case with places you’re “supposed” to go. It served as the final straw for us doing things we feel we were obligated to do instead of visiting places that we knew would be great.
TRIPPED TRAVEL GEAR
We make and sell travel products on Amazon. They’re totally rad.

Monument Valley started off poorly when we attempted to stay at The View Campground. Upon arrival, The View was a mess- super busy, understaffed, and poorly organized. The first time we’ve experienced a 20 minute wait just so we could pull into a RV parking spot. After we were already settled we found out they had a no pets policy- something that was neither on their website or confirmation email.
Luckily, one of the perks of being in a RV is that if you don’t like your neighborhood- it’s super easy to move to a new one!
Changing our plan up meant that would also be trying to cram in our photo sesh at the end of the night instead of the next day- which turned out to be another loss! We just made it to the North side of the valley into the iconic location and view just as the sun was setting.
Monument Valley was something Fin had been looking forward to for the entire trip. Luckily, it's one of the things we walked away from feeling underwhelmed even if we had a 10/10 experience.
If Monument Valley is on your bucket list, here’s a few thoughts to make the most out of your experience:
Set aside plenty of time for “The Picture”. The location you need to take the “endless road” photo is swarming with people taking the other photo. To get the photo right you’ll need to spend some time waiting for your turn as the whole group waits for any traffic to get off the road.
“The Picture” is located on the North side of Monument Valley looking South.
There is no nearby BLM for camping- you’ll need to stay at one of the nearby campgrounds.
Super Pro Tip: Don’t get hit by any cars when you’re in the middle of the road getting your picture taken.

The Ends of the Earth - Alaska's Wild Peninsula
The Alaska Peninsula is a cloud-cloaked land of active volcanoes, rolling tundra and the greatest concentration of the largest bears on earth. The writings of naturalist Loren Eiseley inspire this filmic essay on a landscape where bears outnumber people and the sockeye salmon run is the most prolific in the world. At the base of the peninsula lies Katmai National Park, a wilderness larger Yellowstone and Yosemite -- combined. Farther down the peninsula a giant volcanic caldera emerges on the horizon, so remote that more people climb Everest than visit Aniakchak. But Alaska is warming at more than twice the rate of the rest of the planet; The Ends of the Earth, John Grabowska's lyrical film on the Alaska Peninsula, asks how climate change effects will impact this magnificent land of wilderness and wildlife.
The Best Town in Alaska for Wildlife Viewing!
Valdez, Alaska in an RV is the best way to experience this small ocean side town. Valdez is nestled among fjords on Prince William Sound. You probably know it as the primary location affected by the Exxon Valdez oil tanker spill in the 80s.

It was the perfect spot for us to hide out for a week between Tim’s crazy Dalton adventure and the arrival of Tim’s parents the following week in to Anchorage.
It was SO NICE to finally be next to the ocean. After being in an RV for months driving through the center of North America we finally reached the coast. This finally felt like the RV experience we had been looking for. We had all the comforts of “home” as well as adventure and beautiful views right outside our door.
Valdez is a very very small town with only a few restaurants, a Best Western hotel, and LOADS of RV parks.
Somehow we managed to call the same day and get a spot right on the water at the Bear Paw RV Resort.
We had to move spots due to availability after a few days in to town, but there’s not a bad RV spot around. Every where you look you are surrounded by mountains, waterfalls and bald eagles.
It was really nice here catching up on work. The fact that Valdez Alaska is one of the wettest places in north america meant we spent a lot of time inside. We didn’t do much vlogging… hence the abnormal amount of voiceover in this episode, but we want to show what Valdez has to offer as it was one of our favorite places in the state.
It’s popular to take a day cruise out to the near by the Columbia Glacier. We opted out mostly because we were using this week to work and it was a little long to leave Pepper at home. We did love all of the other things to do in town.
Our favorite was the Solomon Gulch Fish Hatchery.
Every year this hatchery releases approximately 230 million pink salmon and 2 million coho salmon. The fish later return to the hatchery by entering the facility using a fish ladder which carry the fish from Prince William Sound “up stream”. This process is known as ocean ranching and occurs every year!
The amount of fish here was just astounding. This of course made the entire area a popular destination for other wild life.
Just up the road at other river inlets is a popular place to spot our favorite animal right off the side of the road. BEAR
There’s only one road in and out of Valdez so you’ll definitely won’t miss Bridal veil falls and the X glacier on your way in and out, unless of course you’ll be riding the ferry on the Alaska Marine highway which can take you down to south east Alaska or up closer to Anchorage.
It was time to head to Anchorage where we met up with a couple who had found us through our New Zealand videos. Fortunately for us they happen to be the owners of Double Shovel Brewing in Anchorage and were wonderful hosts for the evening.
So at this time, Double Shovel isn’t on Harvest Hosts yet, but there is one harvest host in Anchorage. We would definitely recommend checking them out because, surprisingly enough, downtown Anchorage had THE WORST RV options we’ve seen the entire trip.
Another big thanks to Galen and Morgan who made our visit to Anchorage very memorable, or not… if you know what I mean.
Stay tuned for Sunday where we head to Seward with Tim’s parents and kayak to the Aialik Glacier with one of the funniest people we met on the trip…

Moose Pass, AK RV camping 2019 | Alaska Boondocking | Alaska Float Plane Glacier Tour | RV Alaska
We found the most perfect boondocking spot {ever} in the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. The large gravel lake front property was located in Moose Pass and was so spacious and provided a great central location to all the sites in the peninsula. It is located about 40 minutes outside of Seward (which quickly became our favorite Alaskan town).
We camped here for about 6 weeks and it was SO nice to settle in and just enjoy our time. The kids played non-stop outside in the nature as they lovingly called it, went swimming in the lake and rode bikes non stop. They made a lemonade stand one weekend and we spent time picking fireweed and learning how to make jam.
Andrew and Corbin rode of the float planes they would watch take off and land by us. It flew over an amazing ice field and glacier. We spent time kayaking in the lake and exploring Seward. Our first northern lights experience even happened at Moose Pass which made it that much more special for us. We cant wait to share all the adventures we went on all while keeping out rig stationary. Until next time....
