I Found the BEST SPOT!! Incredible Pike Fishing
Floating an unfamiliar river for some super aggressive pike. I searched around for a while, and then found one of the best pike holes I've fished in a while!
Fly rod: 9' 8wt Orvis Clearwater rod (4 piece)
Reel: Waterworks‑Lamson Liquid Fly Reel 3.5
Line: 8wt scientific anglers fly line, 20lb tapered flouro leader with a 20lb RIO wire tippet.
Rod/reel setup:
-Quantum Octane 6'6 medium heavy action rod with an Abu Garcia silver max and 30lb braided line, connected to a 27lb 9 steel leader.
***The rod and reel I was using is a cheap setup, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. I only use it at the river in case something happens, I'd rather break that than an expensive rod/reel.

Out Kayaking NJs Musconetcong River after a week of rain. The river was very high. Was able to paddle from the back of Saxon Lake onto the river. Had to paddle through some heavy vegetation. The high waters were very apparent at the bridge by the Waterloo Concert field. The gap between boat and bridge were mutch tighter than usual. The one riffle on the river was swollen. The area to portage that riffle was a small stream. It was a great day for a paddle on the swollen Musconetcong river.

Kayak NJ Morning Musky Paddle to Saxon Falls
Headed out to the Musky for a paddle on a sunny crisp fall early morning. Great day to be on the water. Didn't have a lot of time so I paddled down to Saxon Falls and back to the take out. Trip usually takes about a half hour but I tend to do a bit more exploring while on the water.
The colors are really beginning to pop on the river. Was something to see how low the water on the river was but we arena the middle of a drought. We sure could use some rain!

Big Timber Creek Lakes and Rivers 4K
Big Timber Creek is a 5.6-mile-long (9.0 km)[1] stream in southwestern New Jersey, United States, and is also known by the name 'Tetamekanchz Kyl' by the Lenape tribes. It drains a watershed of 63 square miles (160 km2). A tributary of the Delaware River, it enters the Delaware between the boroughs of Brooklawn and Westville, just south Gloucester City and across from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The main stream and South Branch form about half of the border between Camden and Gloucester counties.
Pre-Columbian Big Timber Creek was home to numerous villages of the Lenni Lenape. In colonial times, the creek was a commercial waterway, and it powered a multitude of mills up through the 1950s. In the second half of the 20th century it suffered the ill effects of the rapid post–World War II development that plagued many of America's waterways. As of 2007, it had recovered somewhat, thanks to pollution controls and improvements in sewage treatment.

Beware These Worst Beaches for Shark Attacks!
Shark attacks seem to be on the rise in many parts of the world, therefore, you might want to steer clear of the following known shark-infested waters. Statistically, these are among the most dangerous beaches for deadly shark attacks.
1. Pernambuco, Brazil
The shockingly high attack rate in these waters appears to be due to over-fishing. Without enough food supply, the sharks have begun to sample other forms of fare to satisfy their relentless hunger.
2. Second Beach, South Africa
The beach is popular among shark-seeking tourists and cage divers. Tour operators dump boatloads of bloody chum in the water order to entice the great whites. You definitely don’t want to surf or swim anywhere near these boats and their chum lines.
3. New Smyrna Beach, Florida
More than 238 shark attacks have been documented at Florida’s (surprisingly) popular New Smyrna Beach. In fact, 15% of worldwide shark bites have occurred here. Most of the bites are courtesy of baby bull sharks that favor these waters. To date, none of the recorded attacks here have been fatal.
4. Velzyland Beach, Hawaii
About 41 different shark species that frequent Hawaii’s waters including aggressive specimens like bull sharks and great whites. The last fatal shark attack at this beach occurred in 1994 when a tiger shark attacked a surfer. More recent attacks on surfers have been reported, but none fatal.
5. New South Wales, Australia
This region, which includes famous Bondi Beach, has recorded more than 170 unprovoked shark attacks and more than 50 fatal attacks, and great white shark encounters are more common here than in other parts of the world. Due to the position of the continental shelf, swimmers and surfers are in close proximity of deep waters where these potential predators cruise.
6. Fletcher Cove, California
Fletcher Cove may be picturesque, but it is also the scene of 142 unprovoked shark attacks, including some recent fatalities. Scientists are convinced that the fish-strewn waters in this region are ideal feeding grounds for large predators like the great white.
7. Reunion Island, Indian Ocean
This island has had more than 10 attacks in a recent two-year period, three being fatal. This has prompted island officials to close the beaches to swimmers and surfers. Experts aren’t sure why the sharks are biting people with greater frequency.
8. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Since 2005, there have been more than fifty attacks. In fact, researchers have claimed that South Carolina’s waters are just as dangerous as Florida’s when comparing the swimmer-to-attack ratio. Their waters are attractive to species like tiger sharks and bull sharks.
9. Coffin Bay, Australia
The name says it all. Don’t swim here unless you fancy a meeting with a great white. Recently an abalone diver was attacked and killed by two great white sharks. His body was never recovered.
10. Surf Beach, California
A nineteen-year-old surfer was attacked and killed a few years ago by a great white shark believed to be 18 feet in length. The waters here are home to seals, which attract great whites in large numbers.

Unidentified Creature
Unidentified creature found on beach. This strange unknown sea monster washed ashore on an unknown beach. What is this strange animal?
This picture was sent to us by Elizabeth and we are now sure what this dead animal is that she found here.
The Truth Behind the Strange Image Revealed
Little is known about the origins of this image or what this unidentified sea monster could be. After searching the web, we believe that it has similarities to that of an oarfish, an ocean species that is often mistaken for sea monsters when they are found dead every year.
Is this just an oar-fish or could this be a new species of sea life that was just discovered?

Wind Gusts to Add to East Coast Weather Warnings
Flooding from days of record-setting rain along the heavily populated East Coast washed out bridges and homes and forecasters warned wind gusts topping 35 mph could down trees and power lines across the Carolinas and Virginia in coming hours.
South Carolina on Sunday struggled with flooding streets in the cities of Columbia and Charleston.
Television footage showed people needed to be rescued from deep water in Columbia, while in Charleston cars stranded and immersed in water almost up to the roof.
Vast swaths of U.S. Southeast and mid-Atlantic states were grappling with heavy rains and flooding from a weather system that is separate from Hurricane Joaquin, which is not expected to make landfall on the U.S. coastline.
Weather-related deaths
The East Coast flooding has already caused at least five deaths, washed out roads and prompted evacuations and flash flood warnings. President Barack Obama declared a state of emergency in South Carolina, making federal emergency funds available.
South Carolina emergency officials said inclement weather conditions were to blame for three traffic fatalities across the state on Friday and Saturday, as flash flood warnings were issued for numerous counties.
They said scores of homes had already been evacuated, including in the coastal county where the tourist destination Myrtle Beach is located.
Hurricane Joaquin swirled away from the Bahamas early Saturday, after slamming parts of the archipelago for more than two days. The storm was expected to pass west of Bermuda, well off the U.S. coastline, on Sunday, before heading on a north-northeast track taking it further out to sea.
Any slight eastward deviation in the forecast track could put Joaquin dangerously close to Bermuda, the NHC warned.
While Joaquin has continued to shift away from the U.S. East Coast, dangerous flooding triggered by heavy rainfall was expected across much of the Carolinas and parts of Georgia, Virginia and New Jersey this weekend, U.S. forecasters said.
Evacuations
It has been raining across much of the region all week, and the accumulated rainfall, coupled with more on the way from a weather system loosely connected with Joaquin, has prompted repeated flood warnings from the National Weather Service.
A statement from the North Carolina governor's office said up to 500 residents of Brunswick County had been evacuated from their homes Friday night into early Saturday morning due to flooding from heavy rains and a levee failure in South Carolina.
We're not out of the woods yet, North Carolina emergency management director Mike Sprayberry said late Saturday.
The steady downpour drew its moisture from a slow-moving low-pressure system over the Southeast that has linked up to a finger of tropical moisture from Hurricane Joaquin. Heavy rain continued overnight in the Carolinas and parts of northern Georgia and could cause some significant river and stream flooding, the National Weather Service said.
The low-pressure system also was expected to whip up stiff northeasterly winds in the Blue Ridge mountains of the Carolinas and western Virginia with gusts up to 35 mph through Sunday, the weather service said. With tree roots already loosened in waterlogged soil, increased winds held the prospect of toppling trees onto power lines or property.
The Greenville-Spartanburg Airport in South Carolina recorded 2.3 inches of rain Saturday, smashing the previous record of 0.77 inches set in 1961, according to John Tomko, National Weather Service meteorologist at Greenville-Spartanburg.
This one is extraordinary in that it's such a prolonged event, he said.
Scattered power outages
Flooded roads were closed throughout the mid-Atlantic region and power companies reported scattered outages in several states.
In New Jersey, storms dislodged an entire house from its pilings in a low-lying area of Middle Township in southern Jersey. No one was in the residence. Flood watches and warnings also are in effect in Delaware and parts of New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia.
Meanwhile, the Atlantic Seaboard was spared what could have been much worse damage had Joaquin not continued on a path well off the U.S. coast. And some people found ways to enjoy the wet weather, cavorting in kayaks and canoes in some flooded areas.
