Portland Maine Full Time RV (part 1) ???? | Changing Lanes!
In July 2018, we finally made it to Portland, Maine! We were excited to be meeting up with the first friends we ever made on the road (Randy & Sabrina) at Bayley's Camping Resort. Located in Scarborough, Maine, Bayley's was the most expensive campground we had been to yet! We paid about $90 a day to stay at Bayley's, which was way out of our normal comfort range! The campground would be great for families, but wasn't exactly our cup of tea…kids and chaos going on all around us. The park is huge (700 sites!) and does offer a long list of amenities - 4 pools, one adult- only pool, multiple playgrounds, activities for both kids and adults, kayaking, fishing and a huge general store with an impressive selection of beer and wine.
While in the area, we took several motorcycle rides! Our favorite ride was out to Prouts Neck Peninsula and to Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth. This was our first time riding in Maine and it did not disappoint! (neither did the lobster rolls!)
We also had a blast getting to spend time with Randy & Bri and having them show us around their home state! They took us to several of their favorite places including Maine Beer Company and the LL Bean Flagship Store.
During our stay in Portland, we also had the opportunity to meet up with some other friends we met in Savannah! Tim & Marie-Claire invited us over to their home on Bailey Island for a true New England lobster dinner!! It was a treat to learn how to cook and eat a lobster properly! If you watched our Mystic, CT video, you know how clueless we were on the subject. We had a wonderful time getting to know these two better and we had a lot of laughs while learning how to eat a lobster.
When we started diving into the editing of this video, we realized how much fun we had during this trip and decided to make Portland a two-part series! We wanted to be able to share all of our experiences with you, but didn't want to put out another hour-long video!
So, stay tuned for our Portland Part 2 video coming out in a couple of weeks!! We will share the awesome experience we had on a private foodie tour from Maine Foodie Tours (our friend Randy was the guide!), we take a ferry out to Peaks Island and much more
We absolutely loved the time we spent in Maine and hope you enjoy watching it, too!
