Rancheria Creek, Navarro River, California, USA
March 7th, 2016
First run of the Babylon Tour - Riverboarding North America and 1st Riverboard Descent of 'Rancheria Creek' on the 'Navarro River' (North Central Coastal Region) close to Boonville, California, USA.
Easy Class II with one Class II+ rapid (classified and known as 'The Class III'). It was flowing between 2K and 3K cfs that day and a 16 mile run took us about 3.5 hours.
It was more entertaining than expected, with a lot of 'mini-sized' features and small wave-trains. There were also a bunch of little surfable waves - all but one of which I missed frown emoticon
There was a lot of brush and potential sieves, but it was all very passable - especially on a riverboard.
We were a group of 5; 2 hardshells, 2 duckies (IKs) and 1 riverboard.
It was a fun little run with beautiful scenery, and a great way to ease into the water for the beginning of the tour.

Lake Tahoe Eagle Falls Emerald Bay, Camping Trip
Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada of the United States. Lying at 6,225 ft (1,897 m), it straddles the state line between California and Nevada, west of Carson City. Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America,[3] and at 122,160,280 acre⋅ft (150.7 km3) trails only the five Great Lakes as the largest by volume in the United States. Its depth is 1,645 ft (501 m), making it the second deepest in the United States after Crater Lake in Oregon (1,949 ft or 594 m).
The lake was formed about two million years ago as part of the Lake Tahoe Basin, with the modern extent being shaped during the ice ages. It is known for the clarity of its water and the panorama of surrounding mountains on all sides. The area surrounding the lake is also referred to as Lake Tahoe, or simply Tahoe. More than 75% of the lake's watershed is national forest land, comprising the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit of the United States Forest Service.
Lake Tahoe is a major tourist attraction in both Nevada and California. It is home to winter sports, summer outdoor recreation, and scenery enjoyed throughout the year. Snow and ski resorts are a significant part of the area's economy and reputation. The Nevada side also offers several lakeside casino resorts, with highways providing year-round access to the entire area.

October 7-8, 2016 - We arrive in Fort Bragg, CA, a small town near the coast a few hours north from the Bay Area. Celebrating our one year anniversary, Jas and I do what we do best, go on adventures. And if the adventure takes enough energy from us, a little wedding cake keeps us going. The unfamiliar area brings us an amazing view from unique beaches to the rocky cliffs and rivers that flow to the ocean. It's an anniversary weekend to remember.

Welcome to the Albion River Inn
Welcome to the Albion River Inn, a little slice of heaven on earth. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, Albion River Inn's spectacular ocean views and relaxed seaside ambiance offer an ideal romantic get-away for you.
Everything is geared to your comfort and pleasure. You're surrounded by natural beauty, cool, comfortable temperatures, fresh ocean air, and breathtaking vistas. Our fine lodging and dining, plus the easy pace of life on the Mendocino Coast, will steal your heart away.
Albion River Inn crowns ten acres of headland bluffs and gardens above the sea. Our architectural style, like most buildings on the Mendocino Coast, reflects the New England roots of the settlers who arrived here in the early 1850s. The ocean view is the heart of the Albion River Inn experience, and guest rooms and cottages open to dramatic views and private decks.
Our lodgings are individually decorated. King or queen beds with down comforters, fireplaces, easy chairs, private decks, garden entrances, and an abundance of amenities like binoculars to enhance your whale and bird watching, await you. Our spacious spa tub cottages, and guestrooms with large soaking “tubs for two,” add an extra measure of luxury to your stay, and a chef cooked complimentary full breakfast is yours each morning of your stay with us.
The Albion River Inn Restaurant is open nightly showcasing the Coastal Cuisine of Chef Stephen Smith which celebrates California's north coast bounty of fresh seafood, locally grown produce, wild mushrooms, fruit, and also offers succulent meat, fowl, pasta dishes, and dessert. Window walls provide spectacular ocean views from every table, and a cozy fireplace and burnished bar lend a soft romantic glow to the tastefully decorated interior. A selection of over 500 wines and 130 single-malts has earned our restaurant the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 19 consecutive years, and our friendly and knowledgeable staff have one goal, to make your every dining experience with us a memorable one.
We are located in a serenely rural ocean side setting in Albion, only 7 miles south of Mendocino. Within minutes you can shop art galleries and boutiques, hike on the beach or headland parks, play golf, tennis, fish, kayak, or bicycle. Nearby you'll find horseback riding, local wineries, and microbreweries. Annual festivals such as the Crab & Wine Festival in Jan/Feb, Whale Festival in March, Mendocino Film Festival in May, Mendocino Music Festival in July, Winesong in September, and the Wine & Mushroom Festival in November, the Writers Workshop etc, provide an abundance of seasonal entertainment with excellent food and wine tasting events. Local theater, music, dance and comedy groups, entertain throughout the year.
Albion River Inn's cooking classes have been a favorite with locals and visitors for 15 years. Singer/songwriter performances take place during our seasonal Cabarets, and will begin again in this fall. For the artistically inclined, the Mendocino Art Center provides excellent workshop instruction in a variety of artistic mediums, and an art & craft fair.
Best of all, at the end of a day as busy or quiet as you wish, your room at Albion River Inn with spectacular sunsets, and a cozy fireplace to end a perfect day. Fall and winter lodging discounts make a vacation from November 1st - March 31st, even more enticing with 30% off Sunday ~ Thursday, excluding weekends and holiday periods.
