SEA KAYAKING THE WHITSUNDAY'S
East Coast kayaking
Whitsundays, Queensland, Australia
Travel up north & discover your sunny side in the September school holidays!
Whitsundays, Queensland
For the ultimate adventure holiday, get a group of friends together to explore the magical Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, Australia.
The Whitsunday's are truly a paddling paradise, with no shortage of fantastic campsites on some of the best beaches in Australia. Share the tropical waters with Humpback whales, cruise along with sea turtles and snorkel with schools of tropical fish. Drop into one of the many resorts, or just enjoy your own private island campsites - the choice is yours.
For the ultimate trip we can:
• Design your 'dream tour' of the Whitsunday's, taking in the best of the Molle islands, Whitsunday Island and the more remote Hook Island. We can also drop into the smaller Islands such as Planton, Denham or Henning Islands
• Organise a charter yacht to rendezvous with your sea kayaking group when required. We have run many combined yachting/kayaking tours through the Whitsunday's to truly see the best this magical part of the world has to offer
• Provide intro days from our Sandringham Centre so that your paddling group has some experience before you get there, or you can simply learn as you go. Both options are realistic. No previous experience is necessary
• Arrange catering or help you self cater. We can supply camping gear if necessary and book your connecting transport to and from Proserpine Airport or organise accommodation at Airlie Beach or Cannonvale.
The best time to visit is May to September when you are likely to bump into a Humpback and it's not too hot. Typical tour lengths are 5 to 9 days to really get the best out of your tour.
Contact us to talk about all of the exciting possibilities for your group.

Kayaking in the Whitsunday (Airlie Beach) - the abandoned ship in Shingley Beach
The Whitsunday Islands is a collection of continental islands of various sizes off the central coast of Queensland, Australia, approximately 1,400 kilometres (900 miles) north of Brisbane. The northernmost of the islands are situated off the coast by the town of Bowen while the southernmost islands are off the coast by Mackay. The island group is centred on Whitsunday Island, while the group's commercial centre is Hamilton Island. The traditional owners of the area are the Ngaro People and the Gia People (Birri Gubba language group) whose Juru Clan has the only legally recognised native title in the region.

Kayaking in the Australian Rainforest
We stayed at Cedar Park Rainforest Resort near Kuranda. The hotel is in the middle of the rainforest in tropical north Queensland, Australia, along a beautiful stream. It took Kylee and Ally a bit of time to get comfortable on the kayak, but they eventually got pretty good at it.

HOW TO GET WHITEHAVEN BEACH TO YOURSELF!! | Camping in the Whitsundays
The Whitsunday Islands and Whitehaven Beach have been at the top of our bucket list for as long as we have wanted to visit Australia!
There are so many ways to see and experience the Whitsunday Islands. Instead of doing one of the popular sailing trips, we decide to camp on Whitehaven Beach for one night.
There are 11 campsites in the campground just a few short steps from the beach.
Day 1: We get dropped off at Whitehaven Beach around 10AM. After getting set up and exploring a few different trails and lookout points around our campground, we start a 16 KM return walk all the way to the opposite side of Whitehaven Beach.
We enjoy the breathtaking views of the swirly sands at Hill Inlet right at low tide before making the walk back. All of the tour boats and helicopters leave by 5PM and we have the beach to enjoy all by ourselves. It could not be more special.
The sun is setting as we make our way back to camp and we make dinner and settle in for the night.
Day 2: We could have easily camped for another couple days but sadly our time on Whitehaven Beach has to come to an end.
We enjoy the sunrise and breakfast and go for a quick swim before taking the hour boat ride back to Airlie Beach.
We booked through for the transfer to the island and all of the camping equipment. Our time on Whitehaven Beach is such a special and unique experience that exceeded all of our expectations!
