Kaz Mountains Kaz Mountains or called in two ways in the mountain ranges greatly Biga Peninsula. Kaz Mountains, west Grandfather Mountain, Mount Ida and three middle main peak (Babadag in the north, middle hills Karatas, Sarıkız hill to the south) east Eybek Mountain, Beech Mountain and Kocakatr consists of the north-east of the mountain.
Kaz Mountain, the highest peak of the main peak is 1774 meters above three Edremit district of Balıkesir Karataş hill and falls to the north-north-west direction of the neighboring towns. Canakkale Bayramiç Ayazma promenade is the peak of Mount Ida falls in the north-west and promenade about 17 kilometers from Bayramic Pets road to reach the town rather than follow it after overcoming cottages 6 km road accessible.
The most important centers in the region of Canakkale and Balikesir, depending on Ayvacık Küçükkuyu are ALTINOLUK town of Edremit district.

Mount Ida is surrounded mostly by forests and near the settlements is quite rare. Forests mainly Kazdağı in the upper slope fir (Abies nordmanniana subsp. September 10, 2012, around 13:30 the evening of September 11 and can be controlled, Mount Ida has been in a forest fire affecting 5 million square meters in the foothills. A small amount of olive trees and agricultural land with pine and larch are mainly burned in the fire.

A controversial gold mine project has sparked protests in northwestern Turkey.

Bu tarihlerde Thebe şehri, Lyrnessos şehri, Khrysa şehri, Killa Şehri, Anderia şehri, Antandros şehri, Adramytteion şehri, Astrya şehri, Gargara şehri gibi şehirler kurulmuş bunlardan bir çoğuda Truva savaşları sırasında yok edilmişlerdir.

Kazdagi (Mount Ida) National Park is in the district of Edremit, in Balikesir (Balıkesir) province. The National Park can be reached via the 230 highway from Balikesir (92 km), and the 24 highway from Bursa. Kazdagi (Mount Ida) National Park stretches from East to West along the north coast of the Gulf of Edremit at the northern extremity of the Aegean. Kazdagi or Kazdaglari (Kaz mountain), originally called Ida in ancient times, separates the Aegean and Marmara regions and is the highest in the Biga Peninsula at 1.774 m. Places to visit include the valleys with their rich variety of flora and fauna; the mythological Ida Mountain which was said to be the venue of the first beauty contest; and the area of Sarikiz (Sarıkız), in which the Sarikiz myth took place.

Kazdağı Milli Parkı, Türkiye için turistik yerler içerisinde çok önemlidir ve ülkemizin önde gelen turizm bölgelerinden biri olan güzel Edremit körfezinin kıyısında yer almaktadır. Hasanboğuldu tarafı Akçay ilçesi Zeytinli tarafına yakındır. Bölgede Sarıkız efsanesi çok ünlüdür. Çevreyi tarif edelim. Milli Park’ın güneyinde yer alan Güre kaplıcaları da ülkemizin önemli termal merkezlerindendir. Milli Park’ın çevresinde Thebe, Killa, Khrysa, Anderia, Antandros, Pedosos ve Astrya yerleşim bölgeleri bilinmektedir. Yakın çevrede 3 önemli antik kent bulunmaktadır. Bunlar Troya savaşlarından önce kurulmuş Edremit’e 6 km. uzaklıkta Adramyttion, dağın güneyinde Kaletaşı tepesinin üstünde kurulu Antandros ve Çanakkale il sınırları içinde yer alan Assos kentleridir. Kazdağı’nın yabancılar tarafından en ilginç bulunan yanı ise mitolojideki “ida dağı” efsanesidir. Ülke turizmi açısından tarihi öneme de sahip. Gezilecek yerler listenizde mutlaka olmalı. Bisiklet sporu yapabilirsiniz. Piknik ve doğa yürüyüşü için ideal. Fotoğrafçılık hobisi olanlar mutlaka uğramalı. Yaban hayatı gözlemciliği, dağcılık, çadırlı kampçılık, kaya tırmanışı, kuş gözlemciliği, botanik gezisi, karavanlı kampçılık, dağ bisikleti aktiviteleri için uygundur.

Ida Mountain National Park, is very important for Turkey and one of the leading tourism regions of our country, which is located on the shores of the beautiful Gulf of Edremit. Hasanboğuldu side is close to Zeytinli side of Akçay district. Sarıkız legend is very famous in the region. Güre thermal springs, which are located to the south of the National Park, are also important thermal centers of our country.
