Владимир – аэросъемка города 4K || Vladimir Russia – Aerial Video 4K

A look at Kazan, Russia's 3rd capital and one of its most multicultural cities
(4 Jun 2018) Russia's third capital is to host four group games, a Round of 16 match and a quarter-final in this year's football World Cup.
Kazan is one of Russia's oldest cities, and, for over 1,000 years, has also been one of its most multicultural.
More than 100 ethnic groups live in the Tatar capital.
The grand Tatar mosque, Qol Sarif, located in the middle of the Kazan Kremlin, is situated right next to an Orthodox Church.
A Jewish synagogue is also nearby, in a neighbouring district.
There is a long-running dispute as to whether Kazan was founded by the Volga Bulgars in the early Middle Ages or by the Mongols of the Golden Horde in the mid-15th century.
However, Finno-Ugric peoples were assimilated by Kipchaks here, then Russians came, and that created the modern Kazan population.
This Khanate (a political entity of Kazan ruled by a Khan) seemed to Ivan the Terrible a little dangerous, although it was friendly towards the Russian Empire, and he found it possible to conquer it (the Khanate of Kazan) to make it easier, said Liya Bushkanets, a professor at the Leo Tolstoy Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication at Kazan Federal University.
Then Russian troops went to the East. Thus Tatar lines and Russian lines were intermixed here. Plus, there are a lot of folks here, in the Volga region: Chuvash, Mari people are not far from here. Later Jews came here. That's why Kazan turned into a city where an enormous number of nationalities live.
Today, almost a half of Kazan citizens are Tatars, who converse fluently in Russian and Tatar, and observe the Muslim faith.
Many Tatar Muslims grew up with traditional Russian values.
Their creed is often referred to as Euro-Islam as the alternative to religious conservatism and extremism.
Many Tatars are not devout believers, and are secular, as religion in Tatarstan was seriously damaged in Soviet times.
In a small neighbourhood in Kazan's outskirts, an orthodox priest came to talk to an imam, his friend, on a first-name basis.
He later joins Iftar, the evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset.
Both clergies and their parish help each other to solve the problems of their local community.
There have been no conflicts for the last period of time. Probably, it was in history, let's say. But today we reap the benefits of our ancestors as they managed to create friendly coexistence among religions, Abbyaz Khazrat, the imam of the Tynychlyk mosque, said.
Not only are we not going to kill each other, but, if one needs help with something, we surely are going to come forward. He has parishioners who could help, and I have parishioners who could come to help as well, said Valeriy, the Orthodox priest.
In the city the principle of parity works when the construction of a new mosque implies the onset of an Orthodox church.
Many Jews, whose community in Kazan is one of the largest and most prosperous in the country, say they have almost never faced anti-Semitic sentiments here.
One of the most prestigious schools of Kazan is Jewish: founded 20 years ago in a general education institution, it has been completely reequipped with help from the Jewish diaspora.
Kazan families, including many Tatar Muslims and Russians, want their children to enter the school despite mandatory Hebrew classes, but only one of three applicants gets in.
Recently, Russia's only Museum of Samogon, a Russian moonshine, had opened in Kazan.
The authorities reacted harshly.

STORYLINE:
A Russian icon that hung for years in Pope John Paul II's private chapel returned home to the Russian Orthodox Church on Saturday, a gesture the ailing pontiff hopes will improve relations between the two churches.
A senior Vatican delegation, headed by Cardinal Walter Kasper, handed over the 18th century replica of the Mother of God of Kazan icon to Russian Orthodox Patriarch Alexy II during an Orthodox service marking the Feast of the Assumption in the Kremlin's Assumption Cathedral.
The 84-year-old John Paul, the Roman Catholic Church's first Slavic pope, has long hoped to visit Russia, and initially considered returning the icon himself.
But while the collapse of the atheist Soviet state made it possible to conceive of such a visit, the faith free-for-all that followed in Russia soured relations between the churches, giving birth to a new kind of antagonism and distrust a millennium after the Great Schism divided Christianity into eastern and western branches.
The Orthodox Church has accused the Vatican of trying to poach converts among Russian Orthodox believers, while the Catholic Church counters that it is trying to minister to the small Catholic community - about 600,000 people or less than 1 percent of Russia's 144 million.
Alexy emphasised earlier this month that the Pope is not welcome in Russia, telling President Vladimir Putin that the icon is just one of many copies so there is no reason for John Paul to personally deliver it.
The 32 by 26 centimetre (12 by 10 inch) icon, taken to the West after the 1917 Russian Revolution, was presented to the pope by a Catholic group in 1993 and has hung in his private chapel.
The original icon, which first appeared in the Volga River city of Kazan in 1579, is revered by Russian believers for its purported ability to work miracles, including the rout of Polish invaders from Russia in the early 17th century.
It hung in the Kazan Cathedral on Moscow's Red Square and the Kazan Cathedral in St. Petersburg before disappearing.
A joint commission including representatives of the Vatican, the Russian church and the Russian Culture Ministry examined the pope's icon last year and determined it dated from around the 18th century.
But, nevertheless, the pope has said that it is dear to him, noting that it has watched over his daily work and the Vatican has emphasised this in talking about its return.

Russia's Muslims celebrated one of their most important holy days Monday in an atmosphere of official acceptance, with services attended by leading politicians and broadcast live on state television.
Eid al-Adha, which is known in Russia by the Turkish name of Kurban Bairam, commemorates Abraham's sacrifice of a ram to God instead of his son and centers on the ritual slaughter of a sheep or other animal.
Last year was the first time the holiday received broad attention by Russian leaders.
Russia has about 20 million Muslims, making Islam the nation's second-largest religion after the Russian Orthodox Church.
But Orthodoxy receives far more attention from the politicians and the media than Islam or Judaism.
Some observers say the increased attention to Islam is an attempt to win Muslims' support for the Kremlin's war against rebels in Chechnya, a predominantly Muslim region.
The country's chief mufti, or Islamic religious leader, Talgan Tadzhuddin, said at services Monday in the city of Ufa, about 1,200 kilometers (750 miles) east of Moscow, that the war is a necessary measure against terrorists, rather than brothers in faith, the Interfax news agency reported.
Thousands of men listened to the service and prayed standing outside the mosque in a snowstorm. Muslim leaders put attendance at 30,000. President Vladimir Putin issued an official greeting to Muslims on the holiday.
