The favorable economic development of the city at the end of the 17th century is confirmed by the presence of 21 guilds. The tradition of the keen drapers and linen fabrics of Kezmarok, who sold their goods in Greece and Albania, was followed by the first factory in Kezmarok - a mechanical spinning mill and weaving mill founded in 1860. In 1884, a flax processing plant followed, and in 1901 a weaving mill.
