May Adventure at the Keep River.wmv
We were camping on the Keep River NT in May 2010 when unexpected rain fell through the night. We woke up realising we had to get out of there qick smart. The road traverses over black soil plains which are not the best for driving on in wet weather. Had we got bogged there was a good chance we would be stuck out there for many days. I consider ourselves very lucky that we got home that day.

Undiscovered Northern Territory: Kakadu National Park
AWOL's 'Undiscovered' series goes off the beaten track of major cities in Australia and the world, exploring the sides less seen.
This episode takes us to Kakadu National Park less than two hours out of Darwin, it is a World Heritage-listed area by UNESCO for its natural and cultural values.
Ready for a day of exploring the park, you can choose to start with a traditional Welcome to Country. Rich in indigenous history and significance, a cultural walk will also explain the importance of the traditional owners’ ancient rock paintings.
After an easy hike through the tropical forest, you’ll find a perfect spot for a swim at Maguk Gorge. Along the Mary River, look out for the world’s largest salt water crocodiles and over 250 bird species.
For those looking for more of a challenge, consider a hike to Jim Jim Falls where you will be rewarded with a spectacular swimming hole.
Perfect for those looking for their next adventure, this is the ideal trip to explore one of Australia’s natural wonders.

Yellow Water Sunrise Cruise (Kakadu) - Lots of crocs!
A Yellow Water cruise is one of the best ways to experience the wetlands of Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory of Australia. The sunrise and sunset cruises are very popular. On this particular sunrise cruise there were about a dozen large crocodiles in the vicinity of, and feeding on, a dead buffalo. There was also abundant bird life including Jabirus, Brolgas, eagles, several types of kingfishers and even a Willy Wag Tails nest of chicks.
A fabulous experience if you get the opportunity.
