Travel Video #2 || Morocco - Rabat
We had the most amazing time travelling round Morocco back in April! We went to Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, The Blue City and Tangier, so we will be uploading a bit of a series for you, with a video for each place we visited ☺
We found watching other people’s YouTube videos about Morocco super helpful when planning our trip, so we hope that ours can inspire you to visit Morocco! We flew into Casablanca and explored the area for just one day, but this was enough to see all the sights. Looking back, we probably wouldn’t have bothered going out of our way to visit Casablanca, but as we flew into the Casablanca airport, we thought we’d take the time to look around anyway and we had a fab time.
Thank you for watching our first ever travel vlog, do keep an eye out for the next ones and let us know what you think in the comments, we’d love to do this more often! If you’d like to get in contact with us, then please follow us and message us through our socials below:

Surfers enjoy quieter beaches during Ramadan
LEADIN
Ramadan usually slow business in Morocco, with most services noticing a drop in takings.
But this is peak season for Rabat's Surf Club, with fasters venturing out to take advantage of half empty beaches and better sea conditions.
STORYLINE
Braving the powerful waves, this surfer is on cloud nine.
The waves aren't huge but big enough to mount the board mid-flow and perform a few tricks.
In the heat of the summer and during Ramadan, when Muslims abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset, the usual crowds that pack the beaches will be staying away.
For surfers, the empty shoreline is ideal. Especially for children and beginners.
Surf-lovers are congregating at the Oudayas surf club, just outside the Moroccan capital.
Oudayas Surf club is one of the first in the country, opened back in 1998 and can even boast King Mohammed VI as a founding member.
That is of little concern for these wave enthusiasts, they want to hit the beach, board in hand.
Surf coach Mohammad Miza, warms up before a day of teaching. He has noticed a pattern during Ramadan.
Most people don't come to the beach, they don't swim much during the day. We make the most of it to bring children who aren't fasting here in the day to do lessons in the morning about 11 o'clock for an hour and a half. The conditions for them to learn are perfect.
He teaches two kids' classes as well as instructing up to 60 adult surfers, every day.
This is six times higher than normal he says, with weekends being even busier.
The sea is especially kind to surfers during Ramadan this year, with waves reaching up to 1.5 metres.
An increasing number of girls have been joining the boys to surf the waves.
Others just prefer stay on dry land and take advantage of the empty beach.
Omar Guennoun comes to the club with his children, and plans to keep surfing as a family even when he is fasting.
Although he urges caution.
You mustn't push your body too hard. It has its limits. And it's best to do it just a few hours before breaking the fast, so you can rehydrate soon after taking the exercise.
For now surfers will continue to enjoy the beach and the waves before the crowds return when Ramadan ends.

Taghazout surfing area, Tamri beach. Morocco
Morocco offers many exciting activities for all, from hiking in the mountains and camping in the desert to an array of thrilling adventure activities. With two long coastlines along the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, in addition to a number of rivers, lakes, and waterfalls, there are also many ways to enjoy the water. Keen surfers will have a great time in Morocco, with several areas known for their reliable winds and excellent surfing conditions.
Where to Go Surfing in Morocco
Taghazout
Taghazout is home to a number of surf camps and shops, and beginners can find experienced instructors to help them practice their techniques on the waves. The small fishing village is home to a predominantly Berber population. Located 19 kilometres from the popular seaside resort of Agadir, Taghazout is the main surfing destination in Morocco. While some surfing hotspots can get pretty crowded, it is still possible to find parts that are relatively deserted.
Anchor Point, with its sand and reef breaks is one of the most sought-after surfing spots in Taghazout. It’s possible on a good day to ride the waves for almost a kilometer. Other popular surf spots in the area include Hash Point, with its right-side waves, Killer Point, Mysteries, and Panorama.
Tamri
The small town of Tamri is around a 30-minute drive to the north of Taghazout. Easily accessed from the larger surfing destination for a day of fun on the waves, the main area is a good place for surfing when other places along the coast are flat. It offers good surfing for people of all experience levels.
Imsouane
Imsouane is just north of Tamri, and so also easily accessed from Taghazout. It features two great breaks: The Bay and Cathedral. The Bay is ideal for long boards. Cathedral’s point break is fast.
Tiguert
Tiguert is between Taghazout and Tamri. The tricky reef break at Unicorns’ is usually quiet. Boilers, where you can see the remains of a shipwreck at the start of the wave, is a busier surfing area, thanks to the consistent waves. Draculas’ is a large break, located near the light house. Desert Point is often said to be among the premier surf spots in the whole country.
Tamraght
Tamraght is located just south of Taghazoute. Another small fishing village, it is also known for its many banana plantations. Surfing enthusiasts who stay in Taghazoute often take trips to Tamraght for more terrific surfing. Major breaks in the area include Banana Point and Devil’s Rock.
Agadir
Agadir’s sandy beaches attract many holidaymakers each and every year. There are also some great places for surf-lovers too. Killers Beach is often packed with people looking to ride the long waves. There are numerous surf shops and instructors in and around Agadir.
Essaouira
Known for its almost year-round winds, Essaouira attracts many people looking for chilled out water adventures. Whether you’re looking for kite surfing, windsurfing, or surfing, you’ll find plenty to keep you busy. Both ends of the beach offer good surfing; the lighthouse end is ideal for when the swell is small, whereas the end closer to the harbour is perfect for when the swell is bigger.
La Grotte is located 16 kilometres from Essaouira. The waves are big and powerful, perfect for if other parts of the coast are relatively flat.
Sidi Kaouki
Sidi Kaouki is 25 kilometres to the south of Essaouira. It boasts a long sandy beach and is great for intermediate to advanced surfers. It is easy to reach on a day trip from Essaouira.
Safi
The industrial and port city of Safi is located on Morocco’s Atlantic Coast, part way between Essaouira and El Jadida (on the way to Casablanca). There are several surf camps and shops close to the beach. The right-hand break features hollow waves and wide barrels. The surfing is exciting! Do be careful of the rocks, though. If the conditions aren’t right, however, you’ll be disappointed.
Rabat
The country’s capital of Rabat is within easy reach of some good surf spots. Oudaya offers great winter surfing for beginners. It’s located close to the old kasbah.
Casablanca, Kenitra, Sidi Ifni, Mirleft, and Tangier also have a good selection of surf shops and camps, with easy access to exciting waves.
When to Go Surfing in Morocco
October to April is generally the best time to catch the most awesome waves in Morocco. The earlier part of the season, from September to October, is great for surfing almost everywhere along the Atlantic Coast. If you want to surf in the summer, Rabat and Safi typically offer the best waves.
Where to Buy Surf Gear in Morocco
Most major surfing areas have top-class facilities for enthusiasts. You’ll have no problems buying surf boards and other gear in places like Taghazoute, Agadir, Essaouira, and Rabat. The economic heart of the country, Casablanca also has a decent selection of surf shops.

Power of Enjoyment retreat - Marrakesh, Morocco
Most change-makers are so focused on impacting the world around them, that many forget to take care of themselves.
But with it comes stress. We get sucked into the doing, and we forget to enjoy the journey itself.
The body gets addicted to the “TEMPO of doing” and we can’t stop the thinking... we even feel guilty for doing nothing.
The stress and burnout are like alarm signals our bodies are sending us to let us know that we are out of balance and are heading in the wrong direction. When we keep ignoring these signals, eventually we get sick. We then escape to unhealthy habits such as drugs, alcohol and eating... Anything to numb the feelings.
By developing somatic intelligence, we can teach ourselves how to understand the messages our bodies are sending us, and act on them.
Wouldn’t you want to know how to change the tempo of your body, from the addiction to doing to a natural high? How about, how to double your vitality, just by moving your body parts differently?
No one is teaching this! No one is teaching you how to tap into this innate resource inside you which is the antidote to stress - through bodywork!
One of the biggest challenges we are faced with these days is how to achieve while enjoying ourselves daily. Without enjoyment it’s impossible to reach our peak performance.
If you are REALLY excited about becoming an even bigger influencer… while enjoying life to the fullest, we’d like to invite you to our next 7-day retreat - “The Power of Enjoyment” in Marrakesh, Morocco – for a life changing experience which will teach you how to balance.
