Keermont Vineyards
'Keermont is an actual place. It's not another generic Ridge or Blue Sky,' says winegrower Alex Starey, gazing out of the tasting room window at vineyards in the heights above Stellenbosch's Blaauwklippen Valley. It's this steeply sloping mountain terroir that he and co-owner Mark Wraith consider unique, and 'our whole operation revolves around expressing it'. Hence the new chenin blend, whose name translates as 'Terraces', and vine-dried dessert wine, from another vertiginous site, both coaxed from tiny yields.

Somerbosch Wines
'Die Fonteine', home to Somerbosch Wines is relaxed and intimate, as you'd expect from a working farm that's been in the hands of the winemaking Roux family for more than half a century.
The farm is situated in the Helderberg area of the Stellenbosch region. The cool Atlantic sea breeze combines with other terroir elements on the farm to develop the complex nature of Somerbosch wines.

How to taste wine #5 of 6
Wine.co.za shot some videos for their nose your wine website at Simonsig, great fun!
At wine.co.za we feel passionately about empowering and informing people. The vast majority of people in South Africa are not necessarily exposed to a wine culture. Being in the wine industry ourselves we take it for granted that everyone knows that wine is made from grape juice and that harvest takes place in the summer.
With this in mind, we have spent a considerable amount of time in the last year preparing a set of videos called NOSE YOUR WINE, aimed at giving the up-and-coming wine service professional an entry into the wine world, thus helping them to be more confident in what they do, and of course, ultimately sell more wine!
See our brand new Learning environment on wine.co.za - giving you easy access on your phone, laptop or tablet!
If you are starting out as a wine steward or just keen to learn more in the comfort of your own phone/tablet/pc, then these videos are just for you!
