Kegdole Beach Goa | Beaches in Goa | Goa Travel

Kegdole Beach is not one of the more commercial beaches of Goa and hence is much more secluded and quieter than the rest. It is located inside the Verem village.

At a distance of 34 km from Panaji Kadamba Bus Stand and 22 km from Mapusa Bus Stand, Arambol also known as Harmal beach is a pristine and secluded beach situated in North Goa. It is one of the most beautiful among Goa beaches and also a relatively less crowded beaches in North Goa.

The Arambol Beach extends over 16 km and consists of two beaches. More popular is the Harmal beach contains long stretch of curving sand and it is good for swimming. It is a perfect place for people looking for peace and tranquility. The second, more picturesque beach lies beyond the rocky stretch and can only be reached on foot and is bordered by steep cliffs on both sides. It is a rocky as well as sandy beach and has a fresh water lagoon which extends along the bottom of the valley into a thick jungle. The lake is fed by boiling hot springs and is lined with sulphurous mud which people love applying on their body to do wonders to their skin.

Secret Beaches in Goa! Do they really exist?

We haven't just explored the popular beaches of North Goa, but we rode across its beautiful roads towards the equally amazing and tranquil shores of South Goa, gazed at the houses and chapels as we pass by and of course enjoyed its people. Yes, GOA is really 'Goodtimes On Air'. But we have not found a single secret beach in Goa and even the local people out there are not aware of any such beach. A few parts of the Palolem and Majorda beach may seem like secret beaches as more foreigners hangout there with very little or no Indians. You may also encounter topless foreigners in Goa taking sunbath in such places which may be termed as Secret Beaches in Goa.

Goa's beaches cover about 125 kilometres (78 mi) of its coastline. The beaches are divided into North and South Goa. North Goa is more commercial and touristy with an abundance of mostly low and medium budget tourist accommodations; whereas South Goa is where most high–end hotels and private beaches are located. The Palolem Beach is an exception which features basic accommodation and is one of the most visited beaches in Goa. The further north or south you go, the more isolated the beaches you get. Some of the more popular beaches are Colva, Calangute, Baga and Anjuna. These beaches are lined with shacks that provide fresh sea food and drinks. Some shacks arrange special events to attract more customers.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a church, which is situated in Old Goa, and is an excellent example of Baroque architecture. Basilica of Bom Jesus was constructed in the year 1605 and is one of the most important destinations for Christian pilgrims from all over the world.

Dudhsagar Waterfalls
One of India’s most splendid waterfalls, Dudhsagar Falls are located approximately 60 kilometres away from Panjim. This multi-tiered waterfall gushes down milky white waters from a height of 310 metres, making it India’s fifth-highest waterfall.

Chapora Fort
Chapora Fort first got noticed in the movie Dil Chahta Hai. This ancient fort in North Goa offers splendid views of the adjoining Vagator beach and overlooks the Arabian Sea from all angles.

Hollant Beach
Located south of Bogmalo beach, this is the only beach in Goa where one can witness a beautiful sunrise (considering Goa is on the West Coast of India). Nestled along the foothills of the lush Western Ghats, Hollant Beach offers visitors beautiful views.

Church of St. Francis of Assisi
The Church of St. Francis of Assisi is a heritage construction, which was built in the year 1660 by the Portuguese as a chapel, and was later given the status of a church.

Naval Aviation Museum
A military museum, the Naval Aviation Museum houses exhibits which portray the evolution of the Indian Navy over the years. The museum is divided into an indoor exhibit and an indoor gallery divided over two floors.

Feast of St.Francis Xavier
The Feast of St.Francis Xavier is celebrated annually on December 3rd in Goa to honour the memory of St.Francis Xavier. The feast commemorates the date the saint died and was buried. The feast is celebrated by Goans all throughout the state, though the dates of celebration may vary.

Galjibag Beach
One of the most remote and prettiest beaches in Goa and Dabolim, Galgibag beach is 16 kilometres from Chaudi. Surrounded by fir trees, this beach is also popular because it is one of the few breeding grounds for Olive Ridley turtles (also known as Pacific turtle).

Old Goa
Old Goa or Velha Goa (Velha means old in Portuguese) is a historic city in north Goa. It is said that the city once had a population of 200,000. The city was constructed by the Bijapur Sultanate in the 15th century and served as the capital of Portuguese India

Coco beach in Goa

Coco beach is one of the dirty beaches of Goa. However, lots of people visit here to watch dolphins. This is located near Nerul village. Actually Nerul is also the name of a river which passes by this village. On the way se saw Satti Devi temple and an old Chapel in Nerul village. Coco beach is about one km from Satti Devi temple.

Coco beach is located near Nerul village. If you don’t have your own vehicle you can go from Calangute or Candolim to Nerul by bus (10-15 rs) and take a walk from Nerul to Coco beach (2 kms). There is nothing interesting to see here. It is one of the bottom 10 beaches out of the 40 beaches we visited in Goa.

It is possible to travel from Dona Paula and Panaji, towards Old Goa and Calangute, onto Mapusa, Anjuna, and all the way onto Arambol beach.
Goa is such a beautiful place with some stunning beaches, but the best thing to do in Goa is to get on a bike, and go and explore the open roads.
