Keketuohai National Geopark, Winter Tourist Attraction
Snow has turned a small town in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region into a white fairyland, attracting flocks of tourists.
Keketuohai, a town of Fuyun County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is a geological park. It is inhabited by herders of the Kazak and Mongolian ethnic minorities and is noted for the changing beauty in the four seasons of the year.

神鍾山位於富蘊縣境內額爾齊斯河上游約40公里處,在額爾齊斯河兩側,坐落著兩座鐘形巨岩,高約1000米,岩石上生長著白樺樹,青松和西伯利亞雲杉,巨石上還生長著青苔.雨過天晴之際,岩峰上白雲繚繞,彩虹劃天而過,景色十分壯觀.
神鍾山又叫“阿米爾薩拉峰”,緣於當地哈薩克民間流傳的一段美麗淒涼的傳說:有個小伙子叫洪太吉,他是蒙古王的兒子,他愛上一個姑娘叫薩拉,但姑娘卻愛上了他的朋友阿米爾,為了薩拉兩個好友反目為仇.阿米爾和薩拉帶領一隊人馬私奔,跋山涉水來到鐘山腳下,他驚嘆於鍾山的雄奇壯麗,爬到鐘山之頂,安營扎寨.夏天喝雨水,吃山頂上的野蔥,野白菜;冬天打獵,他們平靜而幸福地生活著.洪太吉得知心愛的人與朋友私奔,心生仇恨,發誓一定要找到他們.終於有一天,他在鐘山發現了他們的踪跡,於是他在鐘山對面的一座山上駐紮下來,隔河相望,等待薩拉出現.一天,薩拉背對額河,梳理美麗的長發,這時,洪太吉對著薩拉的背影射出了仇恨的箭,殷紅的鮮血滴落在小溪里,薩拉從鐘山頂上掉了下來.阿米爾悲痛欲絕,從山上跳下,他們雙雙落在額河中間的一塊巨石上,鮮血染紅了巨石.據說,至今這座巨石中間的凹陷處仍盛滿了血紅色的水,向人們訴說著發生在這裡的愛情悲劇.據說,冬天下過雪後,有人在某塊山崖上,可以看到阿米爾抱薩拉欣賞著神鍾山的美麗冬景.
Temperature Drops Sharply in Northwest China's Xinjiang
Temperature has dropped sharply in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Wednesday.
The temperature of Keketuohai Town of Fuyun County dropped to minus 33.4 degrees Celsius, but the local residents were just going on with their lives as usual for they have got used to such low temperature.
With an altitude of 1,200 meters, Keketuohai used to have its lowest temperature of minus 51.5 degrees Celsius in1961, hence it is also known as China's second cold pole.
Xinjiang’s Kuitun reclamation area experienced the lowest temperature of minus 26 degrees Celsius this winter so far.
Pedestrians were few and equipped with hats and scarves. Vehicles were driving slowly as the road became icy and slippery.
Local weather service warned of further temperature drop and reminded locals to take measures to keep warm.

Spring Snowstorm Hit Northwest China Region
A strong cold front brought spring snowstorms to northwest China's Xinijiang Uyghur Autonomous Region from Sunday, disrupting traffic and affecting agriculture, as most of China is greeting the arrival of Spring.
In Qinghe County, northeast Xinjiang, the snowstorm brought down temperatures to minus 17 degrees Celsius on Tuesday night, and dumped 20 centimeters of snow.
Meanwhile in Nilka County, northwest Xinjiang, 15-centimeter deep snow blanketed the ground, affecting local farms. Armed police helped local farmers to clear snow.
Snowstorms have caused several road accidents.
Flights were canceled or delayed in some airports in the region, according to local transport authorities. More on:

On May 14th, editors of portals revealed that the Central
Propaganda Department (CPD) issued them orders.
They were ordered to immediately remove online content
about questions to high-ranking officials'children or grand children who have become local leaders.
It included the deletion of news,
blog, posts, pictures and videos.
On May 15th, Radio France Internationale reported that
Deng Xiaoping's grandson, Deng Zhuodi, deputy country director
and Ye Jianying's great grandson, Ye Zhonghao, Fuyun county
league secretary who triggered the CPD's orders.
While the orders were released, Wu Bangguo's son, Wu Lei
was promoted to deputy director of Shanghai's Economic and Information Technology Commission.
The news hasn't draw netizens'attention yet.
Now related news reported by state-run media,
People's Daily and Xinhua News were deleted.
Hainan School Girls Raped And Parents Warned By Mayors
The incident of the Headmaster in Hainan primary school
taking six young girls to a hotel increasingly stirred public fury.
On May 15th, netizens revealed that at the moment, victims'
parents were pressured by the authorities not to meet media.
Sina netizen @Zhangyuan posted on microblog that two vice
mayors and ten civil servants in Wanning met victims'parents.
The officials said to them with smile:
Don't talk to media. It will be no good for anyone!
Then they negotiated with the parents to settle quietly.
Beijing lawyer Zheng Zaisuo felt that after the headmaster
raped young girls, those leaders raped the law.
Female Street Vendor Was Beaten; Citizens Respond
On May 14th, police and residents clashed badly
in Changshu City, Jiangsu Province.
Two police cars were smashed and
many people were arrested.
In the evening, urban administrative staff beat a
female street vendor.
The lady was on the floor with a bleeding head,
she lost consciousness.
The incident aroused people's anger, shortly, more than a
thousand citizens gathered together to protest.
They surrounded the officials and two hid in a vehicle.
The authorities sent many riot police to disperse
the protesters. Both sides clashed.
Citizens threw stones and bottles it was chaotic.
