The amazing waterfalls on the River Swale at Keld, North Yorkshire – With the DJI Phantom 4
The highest concentration of waterfalls in England is on the River Swale at Keld in the North Yorkshire Dales where there are a dozen waterfalls within 1 mile of each other. Half of them are accessible to the public.
In this short video I used a combination of the DJI Phantom 4 drone and a phone camera to capture most of these waterfalls from angles rarely, if ever, seen before.
It was extremely difficult and technically challenging to get some of the shots, but fortunately the drone stayed dry!

Yorkshire Dales Country Walk - Swaledale - Muker-Keld-Kisdon Force round
Our video is a guided walk in the beautiful valley of Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales. We start from Muker and walk along side the River Swale passing the ruined stone mine buildings and waterfall at Swinner Gill. We stop to admire East Gill Force just before we walk on to Keld. From Keld we walk back to Muker on the Pennine Way taking a detour to admire Kisdon Force. This is an easy to moderate 6.75 mile walk.

Keld, Swinner Gill, Rogan's Seat, Stonesdale Moor, 30 May 2016
This hike near the northern boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, has five grid bearings aross sections of trackless open access land, crossing Stonesdale Moor. The hike starts at Keld, and heads east alongside Swaledale, before turning north and traversing the impressive Swinner Gill valley and East grain tributary. The hike then rises gently on good track up to Rogan's Seat, which is the highest point of the walk. At a vehicle turning point five grid bearings are taken across Stonesdale Moor via a cairn and features on Long Shot Gill to meet the Pennine Way. From here the Pennine Way heads south beside West Stones Dale, back to Keld, within sight of Lovely Seat, Great Shunner Fell, Little Shunner fell and Robert's Seat.
This hike crosses a lot of trackless open access land, hence, map and compass skills are required. You should also know your pace count. Recommended for experienced hikers.

Hiking England: Pennine Way - Part 10, Hardraw to Keld
The coldest day I've spent on the Pennine Way yet! I check out Hardraw Force, claimed to be the highest waterfall in England before heading up over Great Shunner Fell in winter. I get to check out hiking in snowy conditions with minimal visibility.
I head on through Thwaite before coming to a stop at the Keld Lodge.

Finally we had some rain overnight! Hoggarth's Leap and Catrake Force, Keld, Yorkshire Dales National Park, England. These cascades are on the River Swale, upstream from Kisdon Force. Too bad we couldn't get a better shot of Catrake Force. Shot 7/28/18

I had read about this spot on a walking blog and also in a book on wild places. I was delivering walker's bags up to Keld so after finishing, I had a walk down to this waterfall for a lovely swim.
