Kemeri National Park (The Great Kemeri Bog Boardwalk) in Latvia. Watch this travel vlog to visit it together with us!

We took advantage of the wonderful weather outside and visited The Great Kemeri Boardwalk.
We took the long boardwalk of ~3,4km (the short one is ~1,4km) which took us to the world of moss, small pine trees, deep pools and tiny dark lakes. Absolutely beautiful!
The long trail also has an observation platform and offers a magnificent view of the bog above. We heard this place is even more beautiful during the golden hours of sunrise and sunset!
As it offers special BBQ spots, bring along some food and have an awesome picnic with your family or friends.
It is also easy accessible by public transportation from any point of Latvia.

Ķemeri National Park (Latvian: Ķemeru nacionālais parks) is a national park west of the city of Jūrmala, Latvia. Established in 1997, Ķemeri is the third largest national park in the country by area, covering an area of 381.65 km². The territory of the park is mostly occupied by forests and mires, the most significant of them being The Great Ķemeri Bog (Latvian: Lielais Ķemeru tīrelis). There are also several lakes, that are former lagoons of the Littorina Sea. Lake Kaņieris is a Ramsar site. The park also protects the famous natural mineral-springs and muds, used for centuries because of their therapeutic nature. The springs led to development of many resorts, spas, and sanitariums in the 19th century.

Ms Alyssa The Landlady takes The Road Less Travelled...
Robert Frost (1874–1963).
Mountain Interval. 1920.
1. The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth; 5
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same, 10
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back. 15
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

OKU (OAP) near the sanatorium/old folks home in Kemeri.
Many of the old folks walking around, sitting on benches or moving about in wheelchairs or on crutches are disabled (OKU) and by the looks of it drugged on meds and with impaired psycho-motor skills.
We stopped by two OAPs in wheelchairs and made friends with their dog. They asked for cigarettes and we told them we didn't have any as we don't smoke. That's when they asked us for €2. We gave them and their dog some biscuits and decided it was time to move on...
AMAZING TRIP TO LATVIA 2019 !! (Riga,Sigulda and Jurmala)

Gauja National Park.Latvia.
The Gauja National Park was established in 1973. It stretches over more than 90,000 hectares, protecting the most beautiful section of the Gauja Valley along the Gauja River between Valmiera and Murjani. One day will not be enough to enjoy in full all the charms of the national park.
