Winter's day at Ightham Mote, Kent, England
I have decided to introduce some new videos to the channel, showing places of local history and nature from where I live in Kent, England. I feel nature provides great emotional healing and restoration, so I hope you enjoy visiting these places as much as my family and me do.
Here is a short little video, showing Ightham Mote in Kent. It's a moated manor house that was built in the 14th Century. The building and grounds are in the care of the National Trust, an amazing organisation that aims to preserve historic buildings and areas of outstanding beauty and interest. It is an organisation that relies on volunteers, who offer their time to maintain and make available these properties to the public. Whenever I visit one of the National Trust houses, I am always struck by the loving care and attention that is given to enable future generations to enjoy and learn from.
Unfortunately, Ightham Mote house itself is closed at the moment, but I will return when it's open again, to film some of the interior of this beautiful house.
We have named the little Robin, Ethel, as we think she is a girl-robin. I have seen her again since this visit to Ightham with a little male robin, but didn't manage to film them; will try to find and film her and her friend again!
Relax and enjoy xx
