KerryLibraries
Catherine MacMullan, interviewed at Ceiluradh 2009 at Tipperary Institute, reflects on her investigations into the continuing use being made of Carnegie Libraries in the County of Kerry, Ireland.
The Public Libraries Act was adopted by Kerry County Council in 1925, making the Local Authority responsible for all libraries in the county, except Listowel (which operated under a Trust until 1953). Prior to this, grants had been received from the Carnegie Trust for the erection of Carnegie Library buildings at Cahirciveen, Castleisland, Dingle, Kenmare, Killorglin, Listowel and Tralee. The Library service in Cahirciveen, Dingle, Castleisland and Kenmare still operates from these original or reconstructed buildings.

Dublin, Ireland: Trinity College
More info about travel to Dublin: Trinity College — founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth I in the center of Dublin — has long been Ireland's most prestigious college. The big draw on campus for tourists is the precious Book of Kells, a beautiful monk-decorated copy of the four Gospels from about the year 800. Trinity's Old Library is stacked to its towering ceiling with old books including a rare edition of the Proclamation of the independent Irish Republic and another national icon — Ireland's oldest surviving harp, from the 15th century. You'll see this harp's likeness everywhere — on Irish euro coins, government documents and even on the Guinness label!

Drone Shoot of Ladies View Killarney
Ladies View is a scenic panorama on the Ring of Kerry about 19 kilometres (12 miles) from Killarney along the N71 towards Kenmare, in the Killarney National Park in Ireland.[1]
The name stems from the admiration of the view given by Queen Victoria's ladies-in-waiting during their 1861 visit.

New Ross boys sing like angels
Video of the CBS boys choir singing for Minister John Gormley on his visit to New Ross. The school is in dire need of replacement (since 1973, more or less) This has been approved by Dept of Ed :-) but purchasing the land has stalled since 2005. No announcement again today:-( Those of you who are not teachers, try to imagine how difficult it is to get 200 boys crammed into one classroom, without smacking the head off each-other. (It's kind of in their nature!) (there's no assembly hall in this school, but the boys are well used to getting cosy, and look how good they are!) If this doesn't pull your heartstrings, I would strongly advise you to have them serviced!
