We finally get to explore some boondocking in Northern Maine. Moosehead Lake is the biggest lake east of the Mississippi River and the biggest fresh water lake in Maine. Maine has Public reserved land much like you would find in the west on BLM land. We camp at two free campgrounds: Jewett Cove and Cowan Cove. Both of these free campgrounds are right on the water and the views are spectacular. Wildlife is in abundance! Moose, Bear, Deer, Bald Eagles, Loons and other assorted water fowl. Be prepared to swim, kayak, canoe, hike, fish and plenty of off-road opportunities.

Kennebunkport, Maine
Kennebunkport is a town in York County, Maine, United States. The population was 3,474 people at the 2010 census. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford metropolitan statistical area.
The town center, the area in and around Dock Square, is located along the Kennebunk River, approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) from the mouth of the river on the Atlantic Ocean. Historically a shipbuilding and fishing village, for well over a century the town has been a popular summer colony and seaside tourist destination. The Dock Square area has a district of souvenir shops, art galleries, seafood restaurants (especially The Clam Shack, a strong tourist attraction known for its lobster roll), and bed and breakfasts. Cape Porpoise, while retaining its identity as a fishing harbor, has a very small village area with several restaurants, a church, grocery store, coffee shop, small library, and art gallery. Kennebunkport has a reputation as a summer haven for the upper class and is one of the wealthiest communities in the state of Maine.

President George H.W. Bush 90th Birthday Celebration - Kennebunkport
The community celebration for President George H.W. Bush's 90th birthday took place on June 12 at White Columns, the home of the First Families Museum — an exhibit in honor of the Bush family. The event, attended by more than 500 community members and out of state visitors a 90 for the 90th cake baking contest, the creation of this happy birthday sing-a-long video, and birthday card decorating. The event was free and open to the public.
The celebration included performances from the Kennebunk Twirlers and 207 Band, as well as a visit from actress and singer Jane Morgan who led the crowd in singing Happy Birthday to President Bush along with actors from the Arundel Barn Playhouse.
There was also a competition among the 90 cakes, with The Kennebunk Inn taking home first place for a professional cake, Sonja Midgley taking home first in the adult category and Jillian LaPoint in first place in the youth category.
And, of course, there were plenty of birthday greetings for the President.
Snowstorm Cascades Across Northeast
Freezing rain and snow are making a mess of the roads and highways in the Northeast.
From the Great Lakes to New England, hundreds of schools closed due to a snowstorm pushing through the region.
Speeds have also been reduced by authorities along the snow-packed roadways from Michigan to Maine.
According to authorities in Maine, numerous crashes are being reported on the Turnpike, resulting in at least one death and four injuries.
Though Main received the most of the storm's snowfall, with four inches, about a half-foot of snow was draped across the upper Midwest.

A look into the Bush family An American political dynasty
A look into the Bush family An American political dynasty
George H.W. Bush was the patriarch of one of America's greatest political dynasties to date.
Dozens of his family members gathered Monday for a solemn ceremony at the Capitol rotunda, where the remains of the 41st president took their place in the for three days of mourning and praise by the political elite and everyday citizens alike.
A memorable photograph was captured inside the historic building that shows the majority of surviving relatives posing behind a casket capped in the American flag.
The Bush family famously created two US presidents and two state governors - a television star, fashion model and NFL executive, to name a few.
The family's coastal hideaway was a summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine, and the West Texas oil patch that created a mix of Yale blue-blood and backcountry cowboy, and their own patriarch, George H.W. Bush.
