Highlights of Kenting National Park, Taiwan
Besides the usual tourist stops shown in this video, it is possible to hike the many trails inside. We stood with hundreds of mainland China visitors and admired this scenic area with giant pieces of coral which contrasted with lava rocks, sea plants and trees, and a beautiful lighthouse until we couldn't take the crowds anymore.
White Sand Bay in Kenting town is where most visitors stay. A lively place filled with guesthouses, small B&Bs, two luxury resorts, many restaurants. Marine and I fully intended on taking some walks in the National Park but when faced with extreme humidity and heat, our resolve crumbles. Let me know how the hiking goes if you have the energy.
Hengchun Old Town (Near Kenting National Park, Taiwan)
Hengchun / 恆春 is located within Kenting National Park and is the gateway to the tropical beach resorts and night markets of Kenting, therefore it is one of the most well known tourist towns in Taiwan. The city itself was once completely surrounded by a city wall; now about half of the wall remains intact, as well as the four city gates. On weekends, the streets of nearby Kenting are filled with cars and tour buses.
The Hengchun Old Town / 恆春古城 is one of the best-preserved historical towns in Taiwan with four gates intact and about half of the walls remaining. It was built during the Qing Dynasty in the 1st year of the Guangxu Era (1875) and completed in 1879. It has a north, east, south, and west gate and the outer circumference of the moat measures 880 zhang (about 2,700 m or 8,800 ft). In 1988, an actual measurement of the length was conducted, showing that the length in total amount to 2,550 meters (8,370 ft).
The peak season of tourism in Hengchun usually lasts from April to late October when daytime temperatures are usually hot, while the off season lasts from November to March of the following year, with the exception of the week of the Chinese New Year holiday which usually takes place during late January or February, when large amount of tourist from around the whole country, mostly from Northern Taiwan travels to Hengchun and Kenting for the peninsula's warm weather.
The township was served by Hengchun Airport, with domestic flights from Taipei Songshan Airport in Taipei. Scheduled flights ceased in 2014.
On December 26, 2006, a 7.0–7.2 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter off the southwest coast of Taiwan occurred (approximately 22.8 km southwest of Hengchun). It caused damage to many houses in Hengchun, including fifteen historical buildings in the historic center of the township.

Hengchun bus station is situated in the central Hengchun area of Kenting National Park. Hengchun bus station is originating station of Blue and Green line of Kenting Shuttle bus. The orange line also has stop here (opposite to the transit station).

Kenting National Forest Recreation Area (Kenting National Park, Taiwan)
Kenting National Forest Recreation Area / 墾丁國家森林遊樂區 was originally the Shanzi tribe of the Paiwan ethnic group, which was originally called Turtle Point. During the Japanese occupation, 513 species of tropical plants were introduced. The restoration was followed by the provincial forestry test station Hengchun Branch. It is called Kenting Tropical Botanical Garden. In the 57th year of the Republic of China, the Forest Service Bureau was established as a scenic spot with a southern flavor under the academic research and recreation, and established the Kenting Forest Recreation Area. The area is 200-300 meters above sea level and covers an area of 435 hectares, accounting for 2.5% of the total area of the national park. Currently, 76 hectares have been developed. The area is surrounded by ridge coral reefs; it is formed by the bones of marine animal polyps and shellfish remains, seaweed, etc., so this area should be undoubtedly a seabed several thousand years ago.
There are more than 1,200 kinds of plants, which are divided into coconut, oil, rubber, medicinal, tropical fruit trees and other areas. The shades of the trees and the safflower green leaves are interesting, and the good scenery is everywhere. There are 17 tourist bases, which are divided into the first and second tourist areas, among which are the most popular tourists such as Silver Leaf Root, Xiandong, Guanhailou and Guanyin Valley; Silver Leaf Tree----- It is named after silvery white and has a tree age of more than 400 years.
Due to the growth in the humid and rainy environment of the tropics, the roots grow up in a plate shape to support and breathe.
Xiandong-----The length of the cave is 137 meters. The various scenes in the cave are made of stalactites. It is like a world in the illusion of light. It is amazing.
Guanhai Tower ---- 27 meters high, with a good view, can overlook the southernmost tip of Taiwan's main island and the blue island in the Pacific Ocean.
The coveted valley-----the valley is quiet, and there is a huge white scorpion gas root hanging from the valley wall, it is a spectacle.
In the natural limestone caves such as Xiandong, Yinlongdong and Shizhubao, there are centuries-old stalactites and stalagmites, which are composed of calcium carbonate dissolved in groundwater. The droplets are condensed and formed in about 30 years. One centimeter is the most valuable natural treasure of the country. It is heartbreaking because of the ignorance and destruction of the people and tourists in the past.
In order to preserve this beautiful land for the children and grandchildren to enjoy, I hope that the tourists work together to maintain.

The Kenting Street / 墾丁大街 area becomes a lively market at night, when it is filled with food stalls & street vendors. The area also serves as the restaurant and accommodations hub for the Kenting National Park / 墾丁國家公園 / 垦丁国家公园
In addition, Little Bay Beach / 小灣海灘 is a small swimming & sunning beach in a protected cove with water-sports equipment rentals.

Kenting National Forest Recreation Area
The Kenting National Forest Recreation Area is located on Hengchun Peninsula that is southernmost place of Taiwan; so the area is the southernmost national forest recreation area of Taiwan. The area is featured blue sky, green sea and green mountain. And tropical marine climate made it warm in all four seasons. Under the influence of the northeast monsoon in autumn and winter, the high temperature and rainy weather give birth to many categories of forest and colorful wild plants and create a perfect environment for animals to inhabit. The whole area is divided into two parts. The first part contains Heritiera littoralis Dryand, stalagmite cave, Fairy Cave and Ocean Tower and so on and the second one consists of special terrains such as Silver Dragon Cave, Valley of Hanging Banyan and Grand Canyon etc. and special forest forms.

Atoll Dive Center Hostel, Kenting, Taiwan
Atoll Dive center hostel is a good choice to stay in Hengchun town, close to Kenting national park in southern Taiwan. Its a kind of hostel with shared bathroom facility.
How to reach there: Reach at Hengchun bus station and it will take around 5-10 min by walk to reach there. You can follow the directions in the Google map. If you don't have internet, walk towards the north-west on the main road (in the direction from where bus reaches from Kaohsiung). There is one four way and take left from there, then walk 1 min in the street and then take right and you will find the hostel on the main street.

The Kenting National Park (sometimes Kending) is a national park located in the Hengchun Peninsula of Pingtung County, Taiwan, covering Hengchun, Checheng, and Manzhou Townships. Established on January 1, 1984, it is Taiwan's oldest and southernmost national park, covering the southernmost area of the Taiwan island along Bashi Channel.

Southernmost Point of Taiwan (Kenting National Park, Taiwan)
The Southernmost point of Taiwan / 台灣最南點 has a sculpture representing the southernmost tip of Taiwan. Famous with the locals for pictures and a great sunset spot. No admission, but parking fee NT$50. The entrance to the carpark is about 200 meters further down the main road from the Eluanbi Lighthouse / 鵝鑾鼻燈塔/ 鹅銮鼻灯塔. There is also a regular bus service from Kenting to the village.

Caesar Park Hotel Kenting Taiwan
This is a video review of the the Caesar Park Hotel Kenting Taiwan. Caesar Park opened in 1984 as the first 5-star hotel in Taiwan, and is inspired by the island of Bali. Moubitou Park, Kenting, Taiwan
Moubitou park is placed along the coast in the Kenting National Park. There are cliffs which are naturally formed by the sea waves. There is a cat hill which resemble in shape with a sitting cat. The view of the sea is very beautiful as seen from the top of the hill.
How to reach there: The blue line of Kenting shuttle bus goes right at the door step of this park. You can check the schedule of the bus at the bus stop.
