Right now, there former Western Maryland coach is in the shop currently to get its paint removed so it can go back to it's original stainless steel southern look. Thanks for watching!

On Saturday, November 9, 2019, i headed down to the Kentucky Railway Museum in New Haven, Ky after finding out that the unit pulling the excursion was none other than Monon BL2 #32, Definitely a very unique locomotive. I believe this is its first time running since 2017 due to mechanical issues. Also on the train was KRM's newest locomotive which was donated to them from CSX, 1103, Former L&N 5003, which KRM plans on repainting it into L&N sometime in the future. Thanks for watching! My video from Strasburg in October should be up sometime in the near future.

Louisville & Nashville Railroad 152: Kentucky's Steam Locomotive
Donate to Project 152:
New Haven, Kentucky is a small town located in the heart of the Bluegrass State, just next door to the Birthplace of Abraham Lincoln. There’s definitely no shortage of Southern Hospitality in New Haven. Originally called Pottenger’s Landing, the town is presently home to a population of just under 1,000 people. When the railroad finally arrived in 1856, the town grew and prospered, having a much faster and reliable way to transport goods and people to Louisville. Today, New Haven is still known as a railroad town, home of the Kentucky Railway Museum and an iconic steam locomotive, Louisville & Nashville #152.

North Pole Express 2018
First of all, let me apologize for the quality of the video. I only had ONE chance to capture most of this footage, and I did it with a camera I had only just acquired. Having learned my lesson, next year's attempt should be a huge improvement over this one. Exposure and color were difficult due to the lighting conditions in each car.
The North Pole Express operates each year from mid-November through mid-December at the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum in Calera, Alabama. Tickets go on sale in July and usually are completely sold out before the end of the month. Prime dates and times may sell out in the first hour or so of distribution.
In this video I walk through each car except the Frisco (my recording did not save) to give you an idea of the goings on for the ride. The initial walk through was performed while the train was moving between the Calera Depot and the North Pole. During this part of the ride interior lights, except for Christmas lights, are turned off.
After the train stops, and Santa and his entourage enter, lights are turned on, families are free to move about in the aisles, and the Christmas/Winter songs really begin. Elves enter the cars and dance with the children while we anxiously await Santa's arrival.
This video goes on a little longer than maybe it should, but I hope you enjoy it and see it in the spirit I intended.
Information about all the upcoming rides for 2019 can be found on the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum website: HODRRM.ORG

Chasing the Kentucky Steam Heritage Highball Part 1 - New Haven to Frankfort, KY - 7/26/2019
On Friday, July 26, 2019, I chased the Kentucky Steam Heritage Corporation's Heritage Highball trip from New Haven to Frankfort, KY via Louisville. CSX allowed Clinchfield F7a #800 to pull the famous C&O 2716 to it's restoration site in Ravenna, KY.
They ran it as part excursion from New Haven to Boston, then split the consist. The CRR 800 and the C&O 2716 continued north. They did some photo ops at Lebanon Junction, under the former L&N coaling tower on the CSX mainline, for CSX corporate photographers and Trains Magazine. Then they headed north for Louisville.
At CSX's Osborn Yard in Louisville, RJ Corman power was put in the lead for the trip to Frankfort, where it spent the night on public display. I chased the consist to Frankfort and called it a night.
Chasing this special move from Lexington to Ravenna, KY is coming soon on my channel. Enjoy the video!
Walt Berko's New Haven Railroad Films, 1961
Railfan Walt Berko took these films of the New Haven Railroad in 1961. It starts out with a few scenes taken on Park Avenue in New York City, as NH commuter and long-haul trains run on New York Central tracks into and out of Grand Central Terminal. There's one train filmed at 125th Street, then the scene shifts to Stamford, Connecticut, where both long-haul and commuter trains, along with one freight, appear. Finally, there is a profusion of trains at Mt. Vernon, now known as Mt. Vernon East, to distinguish it from the station on the Harlem Division.
Equipment seen include two generations of MU's, including the then-new washboard cars; many appearances of NH FL-9's and EP-5's, and several shots of EP-3 boxcab electrics, just a few years before their retirement.
