Salina Kansas and Surrounding Area
This is a collection of various photographs, video clips, and images from postcards showing locations in and around Salina, Kansas. There are approximately 100 videos clips, ranging from a few seconds in length, up to 34 minutes in length. Accompanying these video clips is about 2000 photographs, taken by me. The photos I took range in date from the late 1990's to May 25, 2019 the majority of these older photographs, are digitized scans of the negatives. There are also about 200 older pictures, from old school year books dating from about 1900, as well as postcards I scanned dating from about 1904-1922, stereo view cards from 1867, and various images from the books Illustrated Salina: The Forest City {1892}, and Salina, Mart of the West' {1908}. Sadly many of my old negatives had begun to warp, and there are streaks seen in the scans. The video clips are mainly from the 2010's. There are also a few clip and paste images that I created, drawings, and several tribute images. Images I created, to honor the memory of Jok Church, creator of comic strip You Can with Beakman and Jax, which inspired the show Beakman's World, and another image to thank the owners of the skating rink, Mary and Roger for all the Skatin' Fun for Everyone that they hosted up until they had to close the skating rink on May 25, 2019.
