For better tomorrow, Kenya kesho
15 years ago, in the province of Shimoni, on the border of Kenya and Tanzania, there was not enough children for one class . Today there are up to 800 talented, smart, kids , who because of poverty have not thought about the chances for a better future. Kenya Kesho or translated Kenya tomorrow, a non-profit organizations today builds a better tomorrow in 11 schools.
How to justify absence from school due to shame? How to get to school dirty? There's no Money for soap, a roll of toilet paper, transportation and up to 50 km to school...
No absentee. Each student get's here 10 euro pro Month.
In return, showing gratitude every day.Aware from an early age that nothing will fall from the sky.
Suberi learned his first letters and numbers here. For especially talented students continue education was an insurmountable obstacle.
Investment return, passing they knowledge to future generations and of course, receive a salary.
And while we watched mathematics class , calculation methods of education come together: the bank gives you a loan and at the end still pay interest.
The Kenya kesho currently financially supports 15 high school students, 14 teachers in schools throughout the region, Shimoni.
This school was built by parents of a boy whose life ended too soon. Memory of it is the future for hundreds of his peers ...
At the other end of the large coastal provinces, the poorest of the poor, with desire and persistence are struggling with a smile for a safer place under the sun.
They don't suffer for things that their peers at the other end of the world boredom of school hours.
With what they have -- they are the millionaires of Kenyan Bush .
Little things do great works.
But great is not always good. But the good thing is always great.
How big and misplaced expectations often do we have? How often do you run mindlessly for the the goals and achievements ? Wich perhaps in moment of candor you will quickly abandoned when someone would ask you on the end of you lifetime Have you lived as it should?
The world of kindness and patience, each time reminds me of it...
The most beautiful things in the world can not be seen or touched !
They can be felt only by -- heart ...

Kongo mosque, South coast, Kenya. https://www.facebook.com/Dr.KiranKhoslaKenya
The Kongo mosque, South Coast, Kenya.
Source of information... Juma Suleiman the caretaker..
900 years ago, Omani traders who were unusually tall (around 11 to 12 feet tall) built the Kongo mosque which occupies part of the 18 acre land allocated to the mosque. (I personally find the height exaggerated.)
The unique mosque overlooks the Indian ocean and lies few hundred meters from the River Kongo which flows into the ocean and divides the Tiwi Beach from Diani Beach. The river I understand is a bird viewer's paradise, and unfortunately has not been advertised well enough as a tourist spot.
The mosque was discovered 300 years ago by Sheikh Kombo vide a vision which led him to an area encapsulated by baobab trees which today are around 500 years old. He then discovered the mosque.
The mosque is built from coral stones and the cement was basically burnt coral pounded into powder.
They say the builders needed mere stools not ladders to build the mosque walls
There are Graves of the 1st imam who had a normal height and others whose grave lengths are rather very long.
Renovations have been done, walls plastered, extentions made to accommodate the growing Muslim population.
One part of the inner dome has not been plastered so as to show tourists how the mosque was made.
It is believed that there is a huge stone within the ocean, a kilometer away from the mosque. It is sacred and stopped revolving when people tampered with it. It is accessible during the low tides and there is a huge footprint which adjusts its size according to the size of the foot being placed on top of the footprint.
I never saw the stone, as the tides were high.
The locals depend on tourists for their livelihood... They built temporary sheds, benches which they rent out to the visitors on the beach, they keep the beach very clean, sell fish and take people boating on the River Kongo.
