Kerrisdale Mountain Road trip, Melbourne
This one and half minute montage includes some cool zoom transitions and beautiful landscapes, enjoy!
I had an amazing road trip a few weeks back with family friends. We went to Tallarook and on the way we came across Kerrisdale Mountain Railway and Museum. It consisted of a museum of old mechanical equipment and machines like the steam engine. The experienced Train driver was very kind to have given a tour of the museum and a History lesson.
We took the train to the summit. On top, there were many old tools and gears from late 1800's and early 1900's. We got some amazing photos and videos.
It is worth going to Tallarook and definitely worth going to the Kerrisdale summit.

Kerisdale Mountain Railway
A run down from the Summit Loop through the switch back and on wards down to the station. Kerisdale Mountain Railway is a 2' gauge tramway near the former town of Kerisdale near Yea in Victoria. On this trip our locomotive was the Malcolm Moore from a sugar tramway in Queensland (and probable ex army like most of them). There is also a Ruston locomotive for running a second train and a bespoke steam engine under construction. The tramway is the result of over twenty years of effort on the part of the owners and supporters.

Australian Steam Trains: R707 on the North East line to Seymour.
R707 Operations ran their first Mainline tour for 2012 with R707 and T413 to the North Eastern town of Seymour. This tour ran with side trips for patrons to the Tahbilk Winery in Nagambie and Kerrisdale Mountain Railway. It also provided a rail only option. Due to a sold out train in conjunction with the problem of 'buffer lock' between R707 and one of the carriages, Steamrail's BK700 made an appearance on the train. This was also the first time R707 and T413 double headed with R707 operating Funnel First on a 707 Operations tour.

Glenreagh Mountain Railway - Australia
Glenreagh Mountain Railway, known as the GMR, was established in 1989 as a heritage tourist railway at Glenreagh, near Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia. GMR's objective is to restore and operate a heritage tourist railway on the Glenreagh to Ulong section of the Glenreagh to Dorrigo railway line.
GMR is a non-profit, community-based organisation run entirely by volunteers, and has an authority to raise funds under the Charitable Collections Act.
The GMR acquired the 35-kilometre section to Ulong in 1999 from the then State Rail Authority of New South Wales, and is currently restoring this section of line as well as rolling stock, to enable the heritage tourist railway to operate.
GMR's current rolling stock includes steam locomotive Z19 class 1919, 4-wheel watergin L568, TAM sleeping car, 2 heritage end-platform cars, S trucks, ex-Sydney interurban cars (U-boats) and numerous trikes and track maintenance vehicles.
As of December 2005, GMR has completed trackwork to safe working standards for train operation from Glenreagh West Depot 3.5 km west to Talawajah Creek. Steam train operations are scheduled one weekend a month subject to fire bans.
Glenreagh Mountain Railways is not currently operating. This is due to the fact that we have not yet managed to renew our safety accreditation, which ran out at the end of January 2008. We are working hard to achieve this, and return to our previous operations. At the moment, it is not possible to give a reliable estimate of when this will be.

Railways British Built Downunder
HRA Media DVD Set - HRAMedia.com.au
This DVD tells the story of the English development of the first railways in Australia. On the 29th March 1855 the first locomotive in the country ran as far as Newtown in Sydney. It was an 0-4-2 built by Robert Stephenson & Company of Newcastle-on-Tyne, England.
The great colonial engineer John Whitton designed and built the formidable Great Western Railway across the Blue Mountains. Ernest Edward Lucy from the Great Western Railway in England became chief engineer of NSWGR in 1906 and introduced the giant 57 Class mountain type locomotive.
The program features a myriad of British Built locomotives spanning over 140 years. Superb action footage combined with archival, this program is the story of the railways development in Australia.
