Should you wish to climb Carrauntoohil - Gaelic ( Corrán Tuathail ), Ireland's highest summit at 1039m or have other peaks or routes in mind, we will guide and assist you in achieving your goal. Kerry Climbing offers a personal approach. The first thing we do is listen to you. We will plan days to match your expectations whether you are learning to rock climb, climbing Howling Ridge or just want a gentle walk on a rugged hill. Local Knowledge is the essential factor in making the most of your visit. Kerry Climbing will give you a head start in exploring this wonderful area. If you are planning a walking or climbing holiday in the South West of Ireland we have the flexibility to tailor days to suit you whether you are on your own, with a group of friends or as a family.
Your mountain guide, Piaras Kelly is an experienced mountaineer and climber. He has extensive knowledge of all of Munster's mountains, but in particular the mountains of the South West. He has gained his knowledge not only through many years of climbing their slopes but also through his membership of the local mountain rescue team. He is wilderness first aid qualified and insured and is also an instructor in a cliff and coastal rescue unit of the Irish Coastguard. He treks and climbs in all seasons in Europe, Britain and Ireland.

Killarney’s Ultimate High Peaks Challenge is an exhilarating and unique 1 day event in which participants will self navigate their way along a pre-planned route across the highest mountain range in Ireland – The majestic MacGillycuddy’s Reeks. During the course of this memorable day participants will trek over 25km of wild and rugged mountain terrain ticking off many of Ireland’s highest summits with a total height gain of almost 2500 metres.
This is not a race but a challenge event where participants will test their personal navigational skills, fitness, determination and stamina… Have you got what it takes?!?!?!

KILLARNEY MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL
Mountains inspire us all in different ways – and you won’t find a better showcase of the wide and varied diversity of mountain culture than the 2018 Killarney Mountain Festival. This exciting spectacle and celebration of all things mountain and adventure related will run over the weekend of the 9th.10th and 11th of March 2018 and will aim to serve as the biggest and best social event for outdoor enthusiasts in Ireland. It will take place in the vibrant and bustling town of Killarney, County Kerry – Ireland’s true Adventure Capital.
Killarney is truly stunning and is a magnet for all things outdoors, nestled on the shores of the idyllic lakes, surrounded by 25,000 acres of spectacular national park and towered over by Ireland’s highest and most impressive rugged mountains – The magnificent MacGillycuddy’s Reeks.
The festival will be run in close association and with the support of the hugely successful and renowned Kendal Mountain Festival in the U.K and be aligned, organised and run along this very same vein. It will celebrate, excite and inspire and will feature a multitude of exciting weekend long activities from adventure movies and documentaries, workshops, demonstrations, exhibitions, competitions, family fun activities, cultural interest, sample & featured hikes, scrambles and climbs, musical entertainment, and inspiring guest speakers.

Rock Climbing In The Gap of Dunloe, Killarney, Co Kerry, one of the best known beauty spots in the South West of Ireland, The Gap features a number of crags that are popular with rock climbers. Climbers taking part are Gerard O'Sullivan, Nuala Finn and Ciarán Walsh of TMC | Tralee Mountaineering Club. It was Ciaran's first climb in almost 3 years and 15 months since he broke his back in a fall. It was filmed on helmet mounted camera, edited on FCP and published by Ciaran Walsh, Curator.ie, EYEBALL publishing on 25.04.2011.
