Tairyomaru, a cozy seafood restaurant in Oshima Island (Kesennuma City), is actually a restored old house rebuilt by volunteers from all over Japan.
So, how did I find this place? I went on a two-day trip to write articles for Visit Miyagi. My guide was Nishant Annu who is working for the Tourism Bureau in Kesennuma, the northernmost city in Miyagi Prefecture.
If you’re interested in doing a real, local food tour in Miyagi or Kessnnuma, Nishant is the man for the mission.
