Tubing on the Sabie River in South Afrika
2012 Sabie River South Afrika.
When tubing on the Sabie river I filmed some of the action with a go pro camera. Many Thanks to Andrew de Luca for making this trip happen!
Caving By Candlelight

This activity is not for the claustrophobic, epic times with bats and crawling through tight passages.

Descent down the 25 meter high Sabie Falls with the water spray in your face and the Sabie River roaring underneath you. This is an awesome and exhilarating way to challenge yourself and conquer your fear. A rush you have never felt before, guaranteed! Finish in the rock pool below the falls and have a beautiful walk back through the indigenous forest. There is also a dry-abseil available.

Tubing Geckoing
This is rafting with a difference where you negotiate river rapids in your own boat with your face at river level! This awesome one-on-one experience with the raging river rapids makes this the best way to go down the Sabie River. A Gecko is a one-man inflatable, solid floor raft-tube with handles. It is faster, safer and more capable than any other tube

Beyond Pro (Documentary)
Backtrack decided to take two professional athletes out of their normal environment and place them in unfamiliar teritory. Take them 'Beyond Pro' and see how they react. So we went for Tomtom ambassador, SA 5000m record holder and 2016 Olympian Elroy Gelant together with EC Active managing director and 2014 Paco Rabanne Invictus award runner up Themba Madima and send them to Sabie, Mpumalanga where Kestell Adventures would test their bravery as they reside at The Woodsman B&B.

By Welcome to the Republic, what I'm actually saying is welcome to the community. It's been exactly a year since I did my first trip with the guys & girls from the Whitewater Republic, and it has been testament to the fact that time flies when you're having fun.
Making full use of a water release for a K1 race, we made our way down to Montrose Waterfall on the Crocodile River in Mpumalanga. With the Crocodile being at a perfect level, it was a great opportunity for beginners and experienced boaters to get on the water for the first time this season.
After the morning of hucking, we made our way to Dantes Inferno on the Elands River for some more of the same. With the level of the Elands being on the low side, we had a quick scout. Even at this level most paddlers ended up running back to their cars, not able to contain their excitement for Double-D and Dantes Waterfall. What a day of paddling it turned out to be. Smokes. The great weather, schweet lines and perfect day of paddling made for some awesome stories at Tanks Bush Pub. On a bit of a side note; if you ever find yourself near Sabie or Hazyview, and you want to have some of the best burgers north of Cape Town, make sure to go to Tanks. I doubt that you'll find a better burger around there.
We ran the U@ section of the Sabie River on the Sunday. The flows were low, but it still made for some good fun in our playboats. It was the first time on the Sabie for many of the paddlers, and it was great to see the massive smiles on their faces, as I had exactly the same experience a year earlier on the Sabie.
The video is not in the order that we paddled the rivers. it starts off with Montrose Waterfall on the Crocodile River. Which is followed by some action from Double Drop on the U2 section of the Sabie River. It ends off with Double D and Dante's Inferno on the Elands River. For more footage of Dante's Inferno at a bit of a higher level, check out my video of an earlier trip:
