Bike the Kettle Valley Railway / Myra Canyon in Kelowna, BC
Visiting Kelowna, BC? Step back in time and ride the rails or rather ride the railway trail. We check out a small portion of the Kettle Valley Railway (aka the KVR) steering our wheels over wooden trestles, through tunnels and past some pretty stunning scenery -- all of which explains why when you're in Kelowna, you have to Bike This!
If you don't have a bike - you can rent one in the parking lot from
***Update: Since shooting this video, a rock slide has made trestles 3 impassable. You can still access the Kettle Valley Trail from Myra Parking Lot and ride to 3 or start at Ruth Station Parking Lot and make the ride to Naramata (just a little less 'epic').

Kettle Valley Trail KVR / Trans Canada Trail TCT, from Castlegar to Hope (new version)
Bikeride from Castlegar to Hope, Canada / BC.

Kettle Valley Railway Trail - Myra Canyon
12 KM stretch of the Kettle Valley Railway Trail called the Myra Caynon Trail. This section of the trail crosses 18 trestles and goes through 2 tunnels. It also has plenty of amazing views. We rented bikes with Mrya Caynon Bike Rentals. You can book a tour with them or just show up to the Myra Station starting point and rent a bike right there with them. Great experience if you are in Kelowna, BC.
The Kettle Valley Bike Trail: From Myra-Canyon to Castlegar
The Kettle Valley Bike Trail is the leg of the TCT (Trans Canada Trail) going through British Columbia. It is one of the longest railway bike trails in the world and it's most famous leg traverses Myra-Canyon using 18 trestles. From here I cycle through wilderness, ash forests and thunderstorms before I finally reach beautiful Christina Lake and Castlegar.

Kettle Valley Rail Trail (Princeton) | Similkameen Valley | Thompson Okanagan
The Kettle Valley Rail (KVR) Trail and the Columbia & Western Rail Trail is the longest rail trail network in British Columbia extending from Hope to Castlegar. The Princeton route takes you through the precipitous valley of the Tulameen River, with plenty of birds, flowers, mammals and minerals to view.
It is feasible all year round, during all the moods of the river it parallels, from thundering high water to a gentle trickle during August drought.

November KVR Ride
A November 1rst motorcycle ride on the KVR in Kelowna B.C. So far there is no snow, except at higher elevations. It's all good.
Note: I got a flat in my front tire on the way down. That sucks!

KVR bicycle ride down to Penticton
Sorry about the wind noise - I'm not skillful enough to turn that off on my camera. Turn down the volume just so that you can hear the crunch the bicycle tires make as they roll over the gravel on the trail.
Views are from above Naramata down to Okanagan Lake, and looking south towards Penticton. Connie and Nancy led, I followed with the camera taking pictures and this video. Once we got to our destination, Connie and I took her car back up to where my pickup was parked about half-way up to Chute Lake.
