Let's Play NWN2: Sarmates! #15: Touring Misenum & Artorius' Villa
After arriving in Misenum, which is the anchorage of the Roman Fleet, the Classis Misenensis, we explore the town a bit. We visit the forum and meet some shopkeepers, and find a ship with a woman named Ceacilia Cordia advertising trips to some nearby islands with her husband Gnaeus as captain. The forum has a shop known as Oppius Market with proprietor Marcus selling weapons and his wife Tullia who sells crafting items and potions. We then make our way across town to Lucius Artorius Castus' villa and have a lengthy discussion with him.
We learn quite a few things from Artorius. We are tasked to investigate some pirates plaguing the African coast in the bustling city of Neapolis, not too far away. We are to speak to Gaius Pupius about the pirates, who coincidentally had his wife kidnapped by them. We find out that there is a lanista running a gladiator school, the Ludo Gladiatori, and his wife is running a brothel called the Sagitta Cupidonis, so we can go there to look for Babay's and Chayla's kin.
We then end up telling Artorius about the ancient Sarmatian Legend of Batraz, which takes us to a special area to actually play out the story that Satanaya narrates. Batraz is the hero of a tribe called the Narts, and they must battle fantastical creatures called Vaigs. Our task is to besiege a tower held by a female Vaig shaman.
CAMPI FLEGREI: Italy's Super Volcano And Its Mega Eruptions - Part 3
#campiflegrei #italiansupervolcano #italysupervolcano #supervolcanoinitaly #phlegreanfields #phlegraean #mountvesuvius #pompeii #supervolcano
The Third Phlegraean Period is the final period of Campi Flegrei (So far), and is marked by dozens upon dozens of smaller yet devastatingly more frequent eruptions. These occurred both on land and in the bay off the coast of Pozzuoli, leading to smaller tsunami strikes dependent on the level of eruption. Following this period we enter the present day which will be covered in the Forth and final episode of this series. We will cover and map out the entirety of the Third Phlegraean Period and its Three Epochs, as well as covering the notorious 1538 Eruption which created Monte Nuovo, which literally means new mountain when translated to English. The people alive during that period witnessed the creation of it from the ground up during a terrifyingly eight day long eruption. This eruption ended a period of uplift that had continued for 1400 years, slowly raising the land around Pozzuoli from the sea, only for it to come to a climax on the night before the 1538 Eruption, which amazingly raised the ground by an incredible 7 meters in the span of 12 hours, which displaced several hundreds of meters around the coastline claiming new ground from the sea that has existed up until present day.
This is a four part series exploring the amazing, and very frightening facts regarding the Italian Supervolcano. I was unable to make only one video of this, as one would not do it justice and I would be skipping numerous vital facts that I felt are very much worth explaining in depth. I hope you enjoy this video. Part Four will be released shortly.
Subscribe if you want to, I hope you enjoyed this video. If you wish to be in the loop for more content such as this, each like and subscribe helps the channel immensely. Naples (; Italian: Napoli [ˈnaːpoli] (listen); Neapolitan: Napule [ˈnɑːpələ] or [ˈnɑːpulə]; Latin: Neapolis; Ancient Greek: Νεάπολις, lit. 'new city') is the regional capital of Campania and the third-largest municipality in Italy after Rome and Milan. In 2017, around 967,069 people lived within the city's administrative limits while its province-level municipality has a population of 3,115,320 residents. Its continuously built-up metropolitan area (that stretches beyond the boundaries of the Metropolitan City of Naples) is the second or third largest metropolitan area in Italy.
First settled by Greeks in the second millennium BC, Naples is one of the oldest continuously inhabited urban areas in the world. In the ninth century BC, a colony known as Parthenope or Παρθενόπη was established on the Island of Megaride, later refounded as Neápolis in the sixth century BC. The city was an important part of Magna Graecia, played a major role in the merging of Greek and Roman society and a significant cultural centre under the Romans. It served as the capital of the Duchy of Naples (661–1139), then of the Kingdom of Naples (1282–1816) and finally of the Two Sicilies until the unification of Italy in 1861.
Between 1925 and 1936, Naples was expanded and upgraded by Benito Mussolini's government but subsequently sustained severe damage from Allied bombing during World War II, which led to extensive post-1945 reconstruction work. Naples has experienced significant economic growth in recent decades, helped by the construction of the Centro Direzionale business district and an advanced transportation network, which includes the Alta Velocità high-speed rail link to Rome and Salerno and an expanded subway network. Naples is the third-largest urban economy in Italy, after Milan and Rome. The Port of Naples is one of the most important in Europe and home of the Allied Joint Force Command Naples, the NATO body that oversees North Africa, the Sahel and Middle East.Naples' historic city centre is the largest in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a wide range of culturally and historically significant sites nearby, including the Palace of Caserta and the Roman ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Naples is also known for its natural beauties such as Posillipo, Phlegraean Fields, Nisida, and Vesuvius.Neapolitan cuisine is synonymous with pizza – which originated in the city – but it also includes many lesser-known dishes; Naples has the greatest number of accredited stars from the Michelin Guide of any Italian city. The best-k ...
