At the foot of Khandoli Hill there is the Khandoli water reservoir with an area of 900m X 6000m and a depth of 21m which offers various water adventures like kayaking, speed boating, swimming & rescue etc.

खण्डोली पर्यटन गिरिडीह जिले का एक महत्वपूर्ण पर्यटन स्थल है। यहां खण्डोली पहाड़ी के पाद में 1955-57ई• खण्डोली झील का निर्माण किया गया है।
खण्डोली झील गिरिडीह शहर तथा आस-पास के लिए वरदान है। यहां से समूचे गिरिडीह शहर में जलपूर्ति की जाती है। 51 फीट ऊंचे खण्डोली डैम में 78,00,000 m3 जल की क्षमता है। इस डैम में जल निकासी हेतु तीन Spillway बनाई गयी है।

झारखंड में स्थित खंडोली, रोमांचकारियों के लिए आकर्षक पर्यटक स्थलों में से एक है। गिरिडीह के उत्तर पूर्व में 10 किमी की दूरी पर स्थित खंडोली बाँध एक जलाशय है जो विभिन्न वाटर स्पोर्ट्स और रोमांच को स्थान देता है। पूरी खंडोली साईट विस्तृत रूप से एक घड़ी के टावर और एक पहाड़ी, जिसकी ऊँचाई 600 फीट है से साफ़ दिखाई पड़ती है। पक्षियों की असंख्य प्रजातियाँ हैं जिन्हें पक्षियों के शौक़ीन ढूंढ सकते हैं। यहाँ यात्री नौका विहार, पर्वतारोहण, रॉक क्लाइम्बिंग पैरासेलिंग और हाथी और ऊंट सफारी के अलावा कायाकिंग का मजा भी ले सकते हैं। खंडोली का समीपस्थ रेलवे स्टेशन गिरिडीह है। स्टेशन से बस और टैक्सी उपलब्ध हैं जो कि बाँध के रास्ते के लिए मार्गदर्शन दे सकती हैं। खंडोली हिल की तलहटी में खंडोली गाँव है। गिरिडीह के एक लाख से अधिक निवासियों को इस जलाशय से पानी दिया जा रहा है। इस पहाड़ी का आकार सैंडल की तरह है और इसकी चोटी ज्वालामुखी के शंकु की तरह दिखती है। हिमालय बेल्ट, अफ्रीका, उत्तरी एशिया और ऑस्ट्रेलिया से आए प्रवासी पक्षियों को खंडोली झील के आसपास देखा जाता है। ग्रेट जलकाग, साइबेरियाई बतख, साइबेरियन क्रेन, ब्राह्मिनी शेल्डक और पक्षियों की चालीस ऐसी किस्में यहाँ देखी जा सकती हैं जो यहाँ के उपयुक्त वातावरण में प्रजनन करती हैं। प्रदूषण के कारण यहाँ माइग्रेशन कुछ कम हो गया है। कुछ छोटी चिड़ियाँ और जानवरों को पिंजरे में बंद करके मनोरंजन पार्क में रखा गया है जो 6 एकड़ में फैला हुआ है।
पर्यटक आम तौर पर अद्भुत प्रवासी पक्षियों को देखने के लिए सर्दियों के दौरान खंडोली आते हैं। खिलौना गाड़ियाँ और झूलों की सवारी पर्यटकों का मनोरंजन करती हैं। पर्वतारोही रॉक क्लाइम्बिंग, रैपलिंग, रिवर क्रोसिंग और इसी तरह की अन्य चुनौतीपूर्ण गतिविधियों के लिए ग्रेनाईट की चट्टानों के साथ प्रयास कर सकते हैं जो खंडोली हिल का निर्माण करती हैं।
खंडोली बाँध पर पानी की कुछ गतिविधियाँ जैसे पैडल बोट, स्पीड बोट और वाटर स्कूटर आदि का आनंद उठाया जा सकता है। स्कूबा डाइविंग, कैनोइंग, सेलिंग, रिंगो सवारी, राफ्टिंग, वाटर स्कीइंग और सर्फिंग, जैसी गतिविधियाँ पूरे भारत के मेट्रो शहरों से पर्यटकों को आकर्षित करती हैं। ये गतिविधियाँ आगे भी झारखंड में पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देती रहेंगी

खण्डोली गिरिडीह ही नहीं झारखण्ड का एक महत्वपूर्ण पर्यटक क्षेत्र है।
यह पर्यटक क्षेत्र झारखण्ड के प्रमुख पिकनिक स्थल में से एक है। यहाँ सालों भर पर्यटकों का आना-जाना लगा रहता है! पर दिसम्बर और जनवरी में पर्यटकों की संख्या सैंकड़ों से हजारों में हो जाती है, जबकि 25 दिसम्बर से 15 जनवरी तक मेला सा लगा रहता है।
खण्डोली जलाशय में हजारों किलो मीटर की यात्रा कर प्रवासी पंक्षी पहुँचते हैं।

Khandoli Dam (Hindi: खंडोली डैम) is a dam located 8-10 km North-East of Giridih town .towards Bengabad in Jharkhand, India. Khandoli is also a village at the foot of the Khandoli hill. The reservoir of the Khandoli dam provides water supply to more than one lakh residents of the Giridih town. It is an important tourist
spot in the state of Jharkhand.
Khandoli has been developed as a tourism attraction by district tourism department.The number of tourists increase in the winter months for bird-watching due to the presence
of migratory birds in the area. An amusement park spread over 6 acres (2.4 ha) is built near the lake which offers joy rides in toy train and swings. Elephant and camel safaris and numbers of other amusement facilities are available. A canteen is available
for convenience of the tourists. A watch tower and 600 feet high hillock offers a panoramic view of Khandoli site.
Khandoli is a popular spot for aerial, mountaineering and water related adventure sports owing to the physical and the relief features of the area.Aerial adventure activities include
hot air ballooning, paragliding and parasailing from both land and water. Khandoli Hill with its vast range of granite rocks with various shapes, offer varied challenges to rock climbers in rock climbing, rappelling, river Crossing (zip-line), trekking. The reservoir of Khandoli dam (Khandoli lake) is used by pedal boats, speed boats and water scooters for water related adventure
activities such as scuba diving, rafting, canoeing, sailing, kayaking, ringo ride, waterskiing and surfing. Khandoli is also used to impart training in water sports at national level.The Jharkhand Adventure Tourism Institute (JATI) is the nodal state level body which imparts training in and promote water and aero sports.These adventure sports attract tourists from across country.Large number of tourists from Mumbai, Kolkata, Burdwan, Orissa and Bihar arrive to engage in water sports.The Khandoli area has been leased by the administration for further development for tourism.
