Pattaya is mostly renowned because of its go-go and beer pubs, but local governments have made some attempts to supply additional family-friendly appeals and activities.
Efforts by local governments over the last couple of years have significantly enhanced the quality of the shores, but they continue to be lacklustre by Thailand's criteria, also over-development has since ruined a number of those natural charms the region once had. However, the abundance of hotels and guest houses, and effortless accessibility from the airport and capital, make it a popular weekend escape. Catering for more than five million yearly visitors, Pattaya is also able to give an superb assortment of eating choices and a huge array of items to do. Its inhabitants is a mixture of ethnicities and nationalities from far and close.
Rising Sun VC through its Asian subsidiary recently acquired Travelbook after acquiring HotelQuickly, the #1 web and mobile app for last-minute hotel bookings in Asia-Pacific.

'New Phuket' Good or Bad?
They came. They cleared the beaches. But is what the tourists want? Explore some of the key issues and tell us what you think.
Koh Samui & Phuket (27th & 30th January)
Phuket: Thailand Travel and Tour Guide
Press play on our video about Thailand travel to get to know Phuket, the country’s largest island.
Explore with us as we take on this enchanting paradise, which dazzles with emerald water and soft sand. Teeming with deserted beaches and intriguing culture, Phuket belongs at the top of your travel itinerary.
The beaches are certainly the main attraction, and as soon as you catch a glimpse of the shore, you’ll understand why. Whether you’re in the mood for snorkeling off the coast or simply worshipping the sun from the shore, this is the place to do it. Stick to the tourist favorites, including Patong, Kata, and Banana Beach, or hop in a long-tail boat to cruise to the other nearby islands. You’ll find crowded shores with a nightlife scene in beach towns like Patong, but also set aside time to escape to more secluded stretches such as Paradise Beach and Laem Singh Beach.
Make time for some peace and quiet during your Phuket adventure. This island takes great pride in its religion and history, and the temples are a great place to get a sense of the region’s spirituality. With 29 Buddhist temples scattered around the island, you have plenty to choose from. Search for the massive golden Buddha statue at Wat Khao Rang, or venture over to Wat Srisoonthorn to see the sleeping Buddha. From the Phuket Big Buddha to the Wat Phra Thong, you’ll get your fair share of serenity while you’re in town.
If you’re ready to make some noise after visiting the silent temples, discover Phuket nightlife. Tourists tend to flock to Bangla Road in Patong, where the party never stops. From night markets to gogo bars, you’ll find entertainment at every hour in this vibrant part of town. Prefer to catch some elaborate performances instead? The dazzling Phuket FantaSea is certainly one of the best things to do in Phuket, as it boasts trapeze artists, carnival rides, and stage productions. Dubbed a cultural theme park, FantaSea offers everything, including restaurants, shops, arcades, and theater shows.
Take a dip in the inviting waters or join one of the Phuket tours. Whether your idea of a vacation is getting a little R&R at the seaside or dabbling in the region’s culture, you can do both—and more—on your next trip to this picturesque island.

Bangkok to Bhutan - AMAZING First Bhutanese Food Meal in Thimphu! (Day 1)
►Subscribe for more videos:
Bhutan Food and Travel Guide - Day 1: My wife and I flew from Bangkok to Paro, Bhutan on Druk Air. We landed in Paro, and it was about an hour taxi ride to get to Thimphu, which is the largest city in Bhutan, and where we were going to base ourselves.
After getting settled into the My Bhutan house, we headed out to the Thimphu Farmers Market, a local produce market.
Bhutanese food lunch at Kalden Restaurant - For my first ever Bhutanese food meal, we headed over to Kalden Restaurant, a local restaurant in Thimphu. We ordered ema-datse, which is the Bhutanese food national dish of chilies and cheese, plus a number of other cheese dishes, which we ate over rice. It was an amazing first Bhutanese meal.
Indian vegetarian food dinner at New Grand Restaurant - We ordered a spread of dishes including aloo ghobi, and one of my personal favorite, chili paneer.
It was an amazing first day, flying from Bangkok to Paro, Bhutan, and then on to Thimphu. I was blown away by my first Bhutanese food meal!
Disclosure:
It was an honor to be invited by MyBhutan to visit Bhutan to explore Bhutanese food and culture. Thank you to MyBhutan Productions for making my trip and this video possible!

Silverlake Vineyard at Jomtien, Pattaya, Thailand. ( 10 )
On the 24th June 2014 I visited Silverlake Vineyard in Chonburi Province, this 480 acre site can be found at 32/62 Moo 7, Jomtien, Pattaya, Chonburi 20250. They say this address, but on the world map it comes under Sattahip District. Fortunately, although the sun was as hot as normal there was a gentle and cool breeze. Ideal for walking round a vineyard. This vineyard was founded in 2002, by Mr. Surachai Tangjaitrong and Ms. Supansa Nuangpirom.
Arriving by taxi the driver came with me to enjoy the visit. Passing through the entrance building which is home to the shop selling grape juice and wine. Next to it the restaurant with magnificent views across the vineyards, fields and the lake beyond. There is a beautiful fountain in the courtyard of this building. Many people enjoy having their photographs taken sat on the side of this. They have called it the Villagio Community Mall, I have to admit this is a strangely attractive building for Thailand constructed in a Italian theme.
The Silverlake Wine and Grill Restaurant and Pizza Cafe that you can find here is the vineyard’s family style restaurant that offers both indoor and outdoor dining. Here fine Thai and Italian cuisine complement the vineyard’s wine or grape juice if you’re driving. The restaurant is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner and the full bar and nightly live music make this a great spot to enjoy a meal with your family, friends or loved one. A fine lunch is complemented by a picnic at the adjacent Pizza Cafe with its traditional wood burning pizza oven producing great pizzas.
The restaurant has a capacity of 200 people, including a private Chef’s Room that seats up to 40 people.
It is open from 11 am - 9 pm ( Sun-Mon-Thu ) 11 am - 10 pm ( Fri-Sat )
Visitors are invited to join the Vineyard and Winery Tours, which provides an opportunity to explore the vineyard and wine making facilities. Starting from the collection point for the trams, you can enjoy the comfort of the trams as you take a scenic drive through the vineyard toward the Winery. These trams ( road driven not on rails ) do save the long walk round.
You pass by the buildings containing the grape cultivating equipment and the process is explained and the process of turning those grapes into wine with the Vineyard’s advanced wine making equipment including the juicing equipment, fermentation tanks, barrel room with beautiful oak barrels, and bottling machine can be seen on this tour. During one part you can sample the grape juice that they produce here.
Daily Vineyard Tours:
Price: Baht 70 - 100 per person
Duration: 30 - 45 minutes
Operation Hours: 9 am - 6 pm.
You can spend the night in the Movie House Bed and Breakfast, which pays homage to both Thai cinema and the vineyard’s founder, actress Supansa Nuangpirom. The charming and cosy cottages are decorated with retro movie posters and paraphernalia of films. This Bed and Breakfast hotel can be found within the grounds of this Vineyard, and is surrounded by flower beds and a play area for the children and the hotel overlooks the giant carved Buddha Image of Khao Chee Jan at Sattahip, the large Laser etched Buddha which is 109 metres x 70 metres that is proudly displayed on the cliff side.
Silverlake vineyard has made a name by providing a multitude of venues, stage shows on their magnificent lawns which makes it ideal for the live performances held here. Starting with the world class Silverlake Music Festival; to the outdoor amphitheatre that seats 300 people, the Vineyard’s many venues plays host to concerts, shows, and festivals throughout the year. Live music, is a passion of the vineyard’s founders and can be found all across the property whether it is on the Winery lawn, the Cellar Door patio, or the adjacent concert field.
