Khao Yoi Cave
The Khao Yoi Cave is located within the hill visible from Highway No.4 and behind the railway station of Khao Yoi, approximately 22km north of Phetchaburi town. The cave has been used as a place of Buddhist worship, having many Buddha images and other icons. This is common to many of the large caves found in Thailand.
Outside the cave is a troop of playful monkeys, which are as interesting to watch and the walk into the cave.

Khao Yoi is a rocky mountainous region standing on its own just east of the town of Ratchaburi. It's down a short lane to the left just past a Shell station if you are going South and the Mae Luan rice and curry restaurant. The main attraction apart from monkeys is the cave temple inside the caves in these very high rock faces and a rather surprisingly well decorated temple building with shrines ( within the caves ) . It's not heavily visited during the week days. There are undecorated caves a little further up but take care of your footing and the steep climb is exhausting in the fierce heat. There are many places to eat and of course buy souvenirs and snacks in the village. The Bangkok - Petchaburi public minibuses will stop in Khao Yoi if you ask the driver. Make sure you find out where to wait for the next minibus though so you can carry on your journey later. Otherwise, a car or taxi is of course much easier.

Removal of old bolts. These should be installed in the 90s with close proximity to the ocean (10-15km). The wall may not be seeing serious corrosion seen in sea side cliffs but could do with some proper hardware. We have since installed Titan Eterna bolts and anchors on 4 routes.

Tham Khao Yoi, Petchaburi, Thailand
Incredibly well constructed cave complex in the side of a rocky outcrop. The place is home to a huge number of monkeys, so don't have anything edible on you when attending, and be careful how long you open your vehicle door for! Inside the cave is a beautiful reclining Buddha and host of other iconography, split over 3 levels / 2 rooms, and very well maintained (fully level and tiled floor throughout).

Wrinkled Lip Bats exiting Khao Yai cave
Once a day up to 2 million wrinkled lip bats exit their cave outside Khao Yai National Park to feed. I was hoping to find a decent location to photograph the swarm from a distance, however I met a girl and her sister who became my guides on a hike and climb to the very mouth of the cave. The video isn't professional but it conveys my amazement at this once in a lifetime opportunity.
