BANGKOK'S KHLONG LAT MAYOM FLOATING MARKET AND RIVER TOUR
We had such a great time at the Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market! The food, smells, and colors are incredible. Best of all it was off the beaten path. We were the only foreigners there! We went on an incredible boat tour while we were there, got to explore and orchid farm, and even a couple of temples!
Snakehead Fish at Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market - Bangkok Day 4

On Day 4 of this 2 Weeks In Bangkok video guide series we went to Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำคลองลัดมะยม), which is one of my favorite floating markets in Bangkok - for the food and atmosphere.
00:37 Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำคลองลัดมะยม) - When it comes to floating markets in Bangkok, and there are quite a few of them, Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำคลองลัดมะยม) is one of my personal favorites. I love it for the variety and abundance of delicious food, and for the great lush and green atmosphere. Even though it’s still located in Bangkok, the market feels like you’re far removed, and it doesn’t feel like you’re so close to the city. There is a lot of delicious food to eat at the floating market, but one of my favorite things to eat, and something you shouldn’t miss either, is pla chon pao (ปลาช่อนเผา), which is a grilled snakehead fish. Despite it looking a little on the scary side, it’s really an awesome fish, similar in taste to a catfish, but more meaty and not quite as rubbery. It was a really good snakehead fish at the floating market this time - cooked so it was nice and moist. We also ate a plate of goong ob woon sen (กุ้งอบวุ้นเส้น), another excellent Thai seafood dish of mung bean noodles and big freshwater shrimp cooked in a personal pot. After having lunch at the floating market, we then decided to take a boat ride tour, which just costs 50 THB per person, which is a great deal. The boat ride tour was actually quite entertaining and was definitely worth it. If you go to Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำคลองลัดมะยม), I’d highly recommend the boat tour along with all the delicious food.
16:35 Dinner at Saw Nah Wang (ร้าน ส.หน้าวัง) - After getting back to our hotel near Khao San road, we took a little rest and then headed out for dinner to a restaurant called Saw Nah Wang (ร้าน ส.หน้าวัง). The main dish to eat at this restaurant is pad mee krached ruam (ผัดหมี่กระเฉดรวม), stir fried rice noodles with water mimosa. They make it so well, and it’s always delicious - especially if you like stir fried noodles, it’s a great dish.
16:34 Saphan Phut Market (สะพานพุทธ) - After going to the floating market in the morning, we decided to continue the Bangkok markets at night and we headed to Saphan Phut Market (สะพานพุทธ), which is a Thai youth clothing and hang out market. The market is always lively at night, and tonight was no different. There’s not a lot to do there, but if you’re interested in Thai youth culture, it’s a good place to visit.
21:00 Pak Khlong Talad (ปากคลองตลาด) - Known in Thai as Pak Khlong Talad (ปากคลองตลาด), or as the flower market Bangkok, it’s a giant flower distribution market that’s open 24 hours a day in Bangkok. But the best time to go is at night, and even the best time in around midnight to 3 am or so when the market is at its busiest. We got there around 10 pm and there were still plenty of flowers to see, and it was a good last stop of the night.
Day 4, visiting Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำคลองลัดมะยม) and eating the snakehead fish, as well as visiting a few other local markets in Bangkok, was another fun day in Bangkok.

Thai Street Food at Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market in Bangkok Thailand
Bangkok's Best Local Floating Market: Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market. Thai Street Food Tour. Subscribe: NEW THAILAND FOOD AND TRAVEL VIDEOS COMING ALL THE TIME.
There is so much street food in Thailand and Bangkok is known for being one of the best places in the world for eating street food. In this video my family and I take you on a Thai street food tour at Klong Lat Mayom Floating Market, which is generally agreed to be the best floating market in Bangkok Thailand for a local experience.
Klong Lat Mayom Floating Market is open every Saturday and Sunday from 8am till 5pm and its Google Maps coordinates are:
Klong Lat Mayom Floating Market is much less touristy than many of the other floating markets in Bangkok and has a huge variety of authentic Thai food and Thai street food on offer, as well as fresh food, some souvenirs, clothes and other shopping. It is truly a foodie paradise with the range of different foods available there, all the food we ate at the market was delicious. If you’re visiting Bangkok Thailand, a trip to Klong Lat Mayom Floating Market is definitely worthwhile!
Check out my recent video: 8 Thai Street Foods You Should Eat in Phuket in 2019 here:
All of the Thai cuisine in this video is common as Thai street food, but you will also find these dishes at Thai restaurants. You’ll find Thai street food on many street corners in Thailand, as well as at every market, be it in Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi or Pattaya. Thai food has taken many influences from Chinese food so you will find many familiar flavours in the food in Thailand. Thai food markets and night markets are some of the best places to buy fresh and authentic Thai food while you travel in Thailand. There are loads of Thai food markets and night market all over Thailand, you’re never far from one. At the markets you'll find so many Thai dishes on offer and the foods here are cheap, and so tasty! And in case you’re worried, eating Thai street food is safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it nearly daily since April 2012 in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food in Thailand!

???????? THAILAND: BANGKOK FLOATING MARKET | Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, Bangkok, Thailand
Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market is one of the closest and accessible Floating Market near Bangkok, Thailand.
This floating market is located to the east of Bangkok, approximately 15kms away in the district of Taling Chan.
The floating market has a real authentic and local feel to it. It has about 6 different sections, which is mainly all food.
The prices here are quite reasonable, I would go so far as to say the food here is quite cheap.
The easiest way to get here is by taxi. But I got here by catching the BTS Skytrain to BANG WA and then took a taxi from there.
The taxi ride takes about 15 min and cost about 85THB.

You have two main options for floating markets in Bangkok. The super famous one Damnoen Floating Market, or this one called Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำคลองลัดมะยม). We LOVED this one: Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market. It is way less crowded with foreigners. Most of the people who come here are Thai, the prices are Thai and the food is amazing! You have so much variety available!
The Thai we ate: goong ob woon sen (กุ้งอบวุ้นเส้น), som tam (ส้มตำ), the roasted rice mixed plate (name to be added in the blog post by Trina! Pierre writing here....).

Khlong Lat Mayom Market - Bangkok ᴴᴰ ● ตลาดน้ำคลองลัดมะยม⎮Thailand Travel Vlog
► Khlong Lat Mayom is a partly floating, partly solid market, located at Bangkoks Taling Chan District, a 30 minutes drive East of Central Bangkok.
It's one of the best places in Bangkok to experience an authentic market atmosphere, as it's not overcrowded with tourists as it's the case with many other markets in and around Bangkok.
At Khlong Lat Mayom you can sample all sorts of culinary Thai specialties, traditional Thai sweets and fresh fruits.(No t-shirts with silly prints at this market) And while being there, DO hop on a Longtail-boat and discover the market from one of the many surrounding canals. - Enjoy !

AMAZING THING TO DO ON WEEKEND IN BANGKOK THAILAND | FLOATING MARKET BANGKOK | Khlong Lat Ma Yom
What to do on weekends in Bangkok ? we highly recommend you visit floating market, this place is quite different, setting up only on weekends and it is not as big and busy as the famous one like Damnoen Saduak floating market or Amphawa out of Bangkok, but still worth having a short day trip as a place to feel Thai vibe, local traditional life, here you will see a lot of locals buying fresh fruits and vegetables, also freshly cooked food. This is good place to try many various kind of food and enjoy your weekend in Bangkok, Thailand
What we think you need to know before visiting :
1. Please negotiate and bargain as they will usually ask for doubled prices.
2. Thais normally don't bargain over food, but you can try haha the vendors there are quite friendly and generous
3. It is not exactly floating but it is fairly close, there are few vendors selling food on the boat, we saw around 5 of them
4. You can visit only on weekends and national holiday
5. Please don't miss coconut juice when you visit there, the price is only 10 - 15 THB depends on what kind of coconut you get, but if you would love to have cold iced coconut juice you can get it for 20 THB. This is by far the cheapest we have found during our stay in Bangkok, Thailand.
6. When you buy food, pay with cash only. We spent around 30 THB per dish unless you ask for special dish then it can be 35 THB or more
7. In case the food is too spicy, here i would like to tell you Thai remedy: Take a spoonful of sugar, A lot of people normally chug water or soda, but seriously that would be spreading the burn.
8. When you walk in the area, it looks like a normal Thai market that sells fruits and vegetables and some food, but you have to walk further to see stalls by the river and vendors selling food on the boat
9. The opening hours is from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
10. In order to get there, you can take a taxi from Wongwian Yai BTS station. It should cost about 150 THB for taxi ride. you can show this to taxi driver : ตลาดน้ำคลองลัดมะยม ถนน ตลิ่งชัน-บางระมาด ( make it easier for you to communicate with Thai taxi driver )

Thai Street Food at Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market Bangkok, Thailand
Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market (ตลาดน้ำคลองลัดมะยม) This market is a foodie’s paradise with every kind of Thai snack available. There were so many new food experiences for us here.
Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, Bangkok, Thailand
If you're in Bangkok at the weekend it's a great time to escape the sweaty and busy centre and head out to one of the famous 'floating markets' located in the outskirts of the city.
After doing a bit of research we chose the Khlong Lat Mayom floating market to the west of Bangkok. This was pitched as less touristy, more authentic and more relaxing than the other floating markets like Damnoen Saduak or Amphawa.

Bangkok Floating Market | Boat Ride Tour (Temple & Orchid Farm) @ Khlong Lad Mayom
This is a boat trip tour at Khlong Lad mayom Floating Market. You can buy the ticket of the longtail boat tour at the ride side along the canal of the market. I choose to take the boat ride tour with 2 stops about 1 hour. First stop at Saphan Temple. You can go to pay respect to Buddha here. And the last stop at Niyom’s Orchid Farm. You can walk around the farm and take a photo with the beautiful orchids. The ticket for just 100 THB per person, and waited for boat to fill up in 6 persons. But if you don’t want to wait fill up in 6 persons. You can pay 500 THB charter for boat ride tour.
