Pungko-pungko(Squat Dining) The Khmer Way in PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA | Cambodia Vlog Series
07092018 - 07142018
One country, four provinces, six days.
My sisters and I travelled to Cambodia for six days. Our first stop was in Siem Reap. Next we went to Kampot and Kep province. And lastly, travelled back to Phnom Penh. We stayed in Balconitel Boutique Hotel. Luxury for the last two days. Haha!
We didn't exactly go hardcore touring the city. We only went to Central Market (opens at day only) and their Night Market. You should try the food at their night market and do the squat dining.
In terms of haggling, you can't haggle as much as you can in Siem Reap. But it is okay though because the quality in PNH is way better. I would suggest shopping in PNH than in REP if you want good quality (unless you find good quality in REP). On our last day, we were supposed to go to Royal Palace but decided to stay at the hotel instead and went to Lucky Mall right across our hotel to buy Cambodian delicacies.
PNH is a typical city. When riding the tuktuk, you have to be mindful with your electronics or other valuables. Drivers will warn you in using your cellphones inside the tuktuk. We also experienced catcalls. We didnt see much tourists unlike in REP.
The list below is a breakdown of our expenses in Phnom Penh:
Ekareach van (Kampot to PNH) - $8 per person
Tuktuk (terminal to hotel) - $3
Tuktuk (hotel to Central Market) - $3
Tuktuk (night market to hotel) - $3
Tuktuk (hotel to airport) - $8
Lunch (Chicky Rotisserie) - $13
Lunch (Anise Hotel and Restaurant) - $25.5
Dinner (night market) - $11.5

#97: SCARY FLIGHT ON A XIAN MA60 | Cambodia Bayon Airlines | Phnom Penh to Siem Reap | FLIGHT REPORT
Well well well! My first flight on a turboprop in a year and a half - but this was expected to be a fun and interesting one. A quick search of the Xian MA60 would show not-quite positive results, but having been on the type of plane once already I thought it would be fun to be on one again....
Turns out, it was a bit more of an adventure than I'd like. From a cancellation & rebooking to a longer flight (one stop via Sihanoukville vs direct to Siem Reap), to a scary start when the engine cut out, followed by an overall bumpy flight, it was a terrifying one to say the least.
Putting those aside however, we got there safe & sound which is exactly what is expected off of an airline. Cambodia Bayon Airlines is nothing especially fancy, with just he 2 Xian MA60s and daily flights between Siem Reap, Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh. A fun & adventurous option, that's for sure!

Cambodia trip - from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
In this video features my adventures and friends I met along the way while traveling through the Khmer Kingdom of Cambodia. This episode covers Phnom Penh - the capital city of Cambodia, Siem Reap, Angkor temples and Kampong Khleang.
The highlight of my adventure was in Angkor which is the former capital of the ancient Khmer Empire. This is one of the greatest and most spectacular Hindu religious sites in the world!
The central complex, Angkor Wat, features a central tower surrounded by four smaller towers. This is Cambodia's most iconic sight, and particularly popular at sunset among tour groups. The temple is so synonymous with the country that it dominates the national flag.

Bus Trip to Siem Reap
It's my bus trip alone to Siem Reap province. I took a TukTuk from home in Khan Toulkork, Phnom Penh city to Sorya Bus station at Phsar Thmei (New Market). My bus left Phnom Penh at 9:30am on National Highway No.6A heading north to Krong Siem Reap. We had a break at Skun in Kampong Cham for lunch at Sorya Monorom Restaurant. I flew my drone to show the national highway 6 and the restaurant. They serve noodle soup, chicken rice, grilled pork rice, Cambodian fish soup with rice and some weird foods like fried crickets, bugs, pineapple, guavas, mango and so much more. We spent 25min. for lunch break and continued on National Road 6 to Siem Reap. We arrived Krong Siem Reap at around 4pm. I checked my guest house in Krong Siem Reap called Home-Sweet-Home guest house and rest for some energy before checking out Siem Reap town.
In this video, i used GoPro Hero 5 Black, iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, DJI Phantom 3 Standard.

Cambodia Trip | Part 13, ( Kampot, Part 1 ) 2019
FIRST DAY in SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA | Cambodia Travel Vlog
We went to Siem Reap, Cambodia! Like most, our main reason for going to Siem Reap was to visit beautiful temples of Angkor Archaeological Park, including Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, and Bayon Temple. Our first day in the city was quite relaxed, as we had to wake up early the next day for a sunrise tour of Angkor Wat. We had delicious Cambodian food for lunch, drank local coffee at The Missing Socks Laundry Cafe, hung out by the pool, shopped at Angkor Night Market, and had dinner on Pub Street.

Preah Khan, Angkor, Siem Reap - Cambodia 4K Travel Channel
In order to reach Preah Khan, the temple complex north of Angkor Thom, we take nearly the same route as the day before. Our moped-rickshaw drives past Angkor Wat, through the south gate of Angkor Thom and past the Bayon and the Terrace of the Elephants. After we have let the northern town gate and the 100 m wide moat behind us, we reach Preah Khan. The temple is hidden in the woods.
In the past Preah Khan was more than just a temple. It was both Buddhist monastery with shrines for 430 Hindu gods, Mahayana university with more than 1,000 teachers, as well as an agricultural economic management center. Before Angkor Thom had been built, Preah Khan was presumably the provisional capital of the Khmer empire. The temple formed the center of the city. The city with an area of 750 x 900 m was protected by a moat. It almost had 100.000 inhabitants at the time. Under the reign of King Jayavarman VIII, in the mid-13th century, the complex was converted to a Hindu temple and many Buddha statues and reliefs destroyed.
The name Preah Khan (Holy Sword) is derived from the original Sanskrit name Nagara Jayasri, which means the holy city of victory. Jayavarman VII dedicated the temple in 1191 to his father, who drove out the invaders and defeated the arch-enemy, the Cham from present-day central Vietnam.
The central statue is named Jayavarmeshvara, which means Jayavarman, Lord of the world. It is consecrated to the father of Jayavarman, representing the incarnation of Avalokiteshvara, the universal Bodhisattva of compassion and caring. In a similar way Jayavarman VII had commemorated his mother with the construction of Ta Prohm.
We enter the complex by the west gate. Through the gate tower (Gapura) flanked by powerful Guardians we come to the actual temple. The temple is cross-shaped. A longitudinal passage which is interrupted only by different gates, allows us to see to the other end. In the center under a Prasat (tower) is a small stupa.
Openings in the walls are arranged in such a way that the rays of sun point directly to the top of the stupa. This gives the impression as if a flame burns at the top of the stupa.
