The Khmer Smile School (NGO) - Siem Reap, Cambodia
The Khmer Smile School is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 which is located near Siem Reap, Cambodia. It provides free English lessons to needy children.
There are 150 students registered, but more and more enroll every day. So far, three classrooms have been built, but a lot still needs to be done; they need a library and another classroom, and in the future, the school plans to offer computer courses as well as vocational training.
The Khmer Smile School really needs both local and international volunteers to come and teach English to the children. In order to improve their speaking skills, it is crucial for the students to get to interact with international teachers from all over the world.
If you are interested in teaching, building, painting, or anything that could help the Khmer Smile School, please don't hesitate to contact us :

It's weird, but recently in the past 3 months, I've noticed a lot of people in Cambodia wearing Marijuana design clothing. I'm pretty sure they don't know it though. What's your opinion on this?
Hello My name is Robin!
I am a Cambodian born in Long Beach California, USA, returning back to Cambodia to travel and record my adventures, thank you for watching and supporting me! I graduated from CSULB with a degree in Film. Ever since I joined college I started becoming curious about my Khmer identity. After joining a few college Cambodian Orgnizations such as Cambodian Awareness Organization of UCI (CAO) and Cambodian Student Society of California State University of Long Beach I have always wanted to visit Cambodia. After my first trip to Cambodia in 2017 for a Humanitarian trip I was hooked. I came back the next year and stayed long term only returning to get my belongings from the US to stay long term in Cambodia. My goal is to travel all over Cambodia and learn about what would have been part of my life had the Khmer Rouge not happened. I hope to see all of Cambodia and share it with my Cambodian's over seas such as America, Australia, France, Canada etc... I also want to share with the Cambodians in Cambodia, what it is like growing up in America, as so many Cambodians are keen on visiting and living in America. Thank you for following my adventure!

Angkor Night Market St, Krong Siem Reap, กัมพูชา
Angkor Night Market is Siem Reap’s most renowned shopping venue, housing over 200 bamboo huts selling a wide range of clothing and handicrafts by local communities and non-governmental organizations. Located in downtown Siem Reap, this outdoor market was established in 2007 in an effort to help preserve traditional Khmer handicrafts and improve the lives of Khmer people. Expect plenty of one-of-a-kind goods available such as silk paintings, shadow puppets, and intricate stone carvings embellished in silver or brass. A good option for eco-friendly items is the ‘Angkor Recycled’ stall, which offers an extensive range of bags, wallets, purses, and pouches that are made from recycled materials. Of course, you will also find a smattering of mass-produced Chinese tat that is a requisite of all markets in Southeast Asia too. Having a browse through all the stalls is a popular and enjoyable activity whether you buy anything or not

Cambodian Landmine Museum - Things to do in Siem Reap
The Cambodian Landmine Museum is a must-see place to visit when you come to Siem Reap, Cambodia. There are many things to do in Siem Reap, but if you want to learn about an organisation who is really helping Cambodians to escape their tragic past, then you must stop at the Landmine Museum.
The museum strives to educate their visitors about the importance of clearing mines. There are millions still in the ground and these mines continue to destroy families and communities.
The museum tells the story of Aki Ra who started clearing up landmines on his own.
Moreover, the museum also educates and supports more than two dozen Khmer children at their relief center (not open to the public) where they live on the property.
All proceeds go to running the relief centre and clearing up landmines.

Since Cambodia became a member of the World Heritage Convention, it has had so many Khmer heritages listed as the World ones.
The West Baray / Siem Reap, Cambodia
The East baray (Khmer: បារាយណ៍ខាងកើត), or Yashodharatataka, is a now-dry baray, or artificial body of water, at Angkor, Cambodia, oriented east-west and located just east of the walled city Angkor Thom. It was built around the year 900 AD during the reign of King Yasovarman. Fed by the Siem Reap River flowing down from the Kulen Hills, it was the second-largest baray in the Angkor region, measuring roughly 7.5 by 1.8 kilometers and holding over 50 million cubic meters of water. Stones bearing inscriptions that mark the construction of the baray have been found at all four of its corners. The labour and organization necessary for its construction were staggering: Its dikes contain roughly 8 million cubic meters of fill.

Cambodian Community Dream Organization - Education Program
CCDO’s education program in Siem Reap Province demonstrates a deep impact on sustainable development. CCDO has worked with government schools since 2007. Over this time, we improved enrollment and attendance in primary schools, and facilitated a significant improvement in English proficiency. In addition, we integrate improved health, wellbeing and environmental consciousness to our target schools. Additionally we provide early childhood education, libraries, computer labs, sports, and school-gardens.
After establishing a holistic standard for improved education at the target schools, we focus on enabling the teachers, administrators, and community-at-large to continue striving for progress in education. We do this by providing comprehensive training on curriculum and teaching methodology. Over time, our subsidization of school programs and our monitoring of learning progress can be handed off to the community itself. With a robust approach that is based on extended-duration and sustainability, CCDO achieves maximal impact and a unique form of educational aid. Additionally CCDO is unique in providing breakfast at 13 schools in the rural area around Siem Reap. We ensure that each student is well nourished to be able to learn and concentrate properly. Our aim is to empower the physical and mental capacity through multiple micronutrient supplements.
