MUSASHINO: A TRAVEL GUIDE
Walk around Musashino Tokyo
TOKYO VLOG: Kichijoji Shopping & Odaiba
We traveled a bit outside of central Tokyo to Kichijoji District to do a bit of shopping! I didn't get a lot of stuff here, mainly just cosmetics since they were a bit cheaper here compared to the shops inner city.
Odaiba is another area with lots of shopping malls such as:
Aquacity- we were here for the view of the Rainbow Bridge
DiverCity- there's a huge Gundam statue right outside!

A Walk Around Kichijoji Station, Inokashira Onshi Park [Historical Site]
A random walk around of a pretty awesome park just outside Kichijoji Station here in the suburbs of Tokyo! Below is some facts about the park and the surrounding area.
A Walk Around Kichijoji Station, Inokashira Onshi Park [Historical Site]
P.S Cat Cafe vlog coming soon!
Inokashira Park, established in 1917, will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2017. Originally considered a park in the suburbs, Inokashira Park now serves as a precious green space for the adjacent residential area.
The third Tokugawa shogun, Iemitsu, is said to have given Inokashira Pond its name. The name is said to mean either “source of the water supply” or “well that supplies the most delicious water.” The Inokashira Pond was the source of the first water service for the city of Edo, the Kanda water supply. The water for this pond was used as drinking water until an improved water supply was completed in 1898.
The park is divided into four sections: Inokashira Pond and its surroundings, Gotenyama that contains a wooded area and the Shizen Bunka-en Gardens, recreation facilities in the wet portion of the park, and the No. 2 park to the southeast. The landscape is full of variety, with the lowlands of Inokashira Pond and the highlands of Gotenyama.

Exploring Kichijoji: the coolest neighborhood in Tokyo?
Okay, so this was a bit better than natto... LOL. Harper and I set off for Kichijoji to explore and try Japanese souffle pancakes, which are the exact pancakes that angels eat for breakfast every morning in heaven.
???????? About me: Hi, I’m Erin! I live with my husband Jesse and our three-year-old daughter Harper in Guanajuato, GTO, Mexico. In the summer of 2018, we sold our stuff, packed our bags, and booked a one-way ticket to Mexico in search of a new life. Thanks for joining our adventure!

Kichijoji Aki Matsuri (Kichijoji Autumn Festival)
For the 45th time the residents of the fashionable Kichijoji neighborhood get together and get rowdy (in a very organized way) for the Kichijoji Aki Matsuri (autumn festival).
On the first day of the festival, the mikoshi (portable shrines) from the various neighborhoods of Kichijoji will be jiggled and jostled around the streets, ending up in front of the station on Heiwa Dori. On Sunday, the focus shifts to Musashino Hachimangu shrine for their main festival.

CAMERA & AUDIO EQUIPMENT I USE:
Camera: Sony RX100 M3 ►
Voiceover Mic: Samson Go Mic ►
In-Field Mic: Zoom H1 ►
Tripod: Manfrotto Pixi ►
EXPLANATION: I try to keep my equipment as simple as possible. 90% of the time, all I use to film is my Sony RX100 M3, and all I use for audio is my Samson Go Mic (which I use to record voiceovers after filming). Occasionally I use the Zoom H1 for audio if I want to record audio in-field. As for the Pixi tripod, I sometimes use it while filming food, but most of the time I use it to mount my Samson Go Mic on a desk for voiceovers (in conjunction with the other accessories, listed below).
MODULAR COMPONENTS I USE:
Smatree SmaPole S3 (hollow pole only) ►
Joby Action Arm (arm only) ►
Joby Hand Grip (hand grip only) ►
Joby Hub Adapter ►
EXPLANATION: Because I'm often traveling, I prefer to have the lightest, smallest, most versatile components available. Therefore, I use bits and pieces from the above gear sets, and these bits and pieces can be connected together in a huge variety of ways. For example, they can be made into a long selfie stick, they can be mounted to my tripod to make it extra-tall, and they can be used with my tripod and Go Mic to position the microphone directly in front of my face while I'm recording voiceovers at a desk.
MICROPHONE ACCESSORIES I USE:
Foam Mic Cover ►
Pop Filter ►
EXPLANATION: To improve sound quality for voiceovers, I place a mic cover on the Samson Go Mic, then use an elastic band to hang the pop filter on top. This is not the best audio protection available, but it is the most minimalistic and space-efficient gear for traveling. The mic cover can also be used on the rare occasion that I record audio with the Zoom H1.
GEAR I USE FOR CHARGING ON-THE-GO:
Anker Mini PowerBank ►
Silicone Cables ►
Adapter for Micro to Mini ►
Adapter for Micro to Lightning ►
EXPLANATION: Anker's lipstick-sized powerbanks are small yet powerful. I travel with two, so that if one has a low charge, I can charge it in my hotel while I'm out and about with the other powerbank. Using the powerbank in conjunction with the short, durable silicone cables and micro/mini/lightning adapters means I can charge just about any device while on-the-go.
