Kiftsgate Court Garden near Chipping Campden in Gloucestershire.
It's easy to forego a visit to Kiftsgate Court as it's more famous neighbour, Hidcote Manor, casts a long shadow. Yet, Kiftsgate is also an extraordinary garden. Italianate around the house, it quickly meanders into flowing borders full of scented shrubs and exuberant perennials.
The gardens were created by Heather Muir, and then they passed to daughter Diany Binney, who we see in this film once she had moved to the Lodge. Anne and John Chambers, the current, owners (who are now old hands) are shown as they gain a foothold.
This is also the home to the rampant white rose 'Kiftsgate'.

KIFTSGATE is based in the Cotswolds close to Chipping Camden. There are a couple of levels where you can walk around the extended gardens and in this particular video you will see the lovely half moon shaped pool, painted black so that this reflects the light perfectly. To sit and overlook this is relaxing and the view extends to overlook the beautiful Cotswold countryside and hills.

Hidcote Manor Garden is a garden in the United Kingdom, located at the village of Hidcote Bartrim, near Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire. It is one of the best-known and most influential Arts and Crafts gardens in Britain, with its linked rooms of hedges, rare trees, shrubs and herbaceous borders. Created by Lawrence Johnston, it is owned by the National Trust and is open to the public.
HistoryEdit
The Americans, Lawrence Johnston and his mother, settled in Britain about 1900, and Lawrence immediately became a British citizen and fought in the British army during the Boer war. In 1907 Johnston's mother, Mrs Gertrude Winthrop (she had re-married), purchased the Hidcote Manor Estate. It was situated in a part of Britain with strong connections to the then-burgeoning Arts and Crafts movement and an Anglicized American artistic expatriate community centred nearby at Broadway, Worcestershire.
Johnston soon became interested in turning the fields around the house into a garden. By 1910 he had begun to lay out the key features of the garden, and by the 1920s he had twelve full-time gardeners working for him.
After World War II Johnston spent most of his time at Jardin Serre de la Madone, his garden in the south of France; and in 1947 he entrusted Hidcote to the National Trust.
The style of the garden has been widely imitated. In 2007 a temporary garden designed by Chris Beardshaw that drew inspiration from Johnson's Hidcote was constructed at the Chelsea Flower Show in London.

I promise I am in no way sponsored by the National Trust. But let's face it, I should be! I am their #1 fan. Luke and I tried to go to another location but it was closed and Hidcote was the closest so we went their instead. It was a very good choice because these gardens are EPIC. Lawrence Johnston (the man who created the gardens) went all out. Every area is like a separate room filled with flowers, vegetables, hedges, bridges, steams, plants etc. I highly recommend it!

I'm making this so I have documentation of my travels to share with my grandkids one day so they know their grandma was still just as cool at 22.
