VR Journey of Kumano-Kodo in Japan Mind of a Pilgrimage episode1 (English version)
This is a virtual travel experience of pilgrimage to Kumano of Japan, where is Japanese sacred place. Kumano-Kodo is the old road leading to the Kumano where the ancient Japanese believed and have been passed through for a pilgrimage from the past 1000 years. Please feel the heart of the natural faith that Japanese people inherit. The Kumano area is located on the Kii Peninsula, located on the south side of the Kinki district (Among them, famous cities are Osaka and Kyoto) of Japan. The subject of that faith extends over a wide area from the center of the Kii mountain to the Pacific Ocean side. What you can see in this VR video experience is only a part of that. We would be pleased if the person who experienced this video wanted to actually visit Kumano. And this work is also a concept work of the SHINRYOKU. It took quite a lot of time and effort to finish this work.
Also thanks to the cooperation of many people I was able to make it. The work follows Episode 2.
これは日本の聖地と呼ばれる場所、熊野へのバーチャルな参詣の旅体験です。熊野古道は古来の日本人が信仰した熊野へと通じる道であり、1000年以上の昔より、参詣のために通られた道です。日本人が受け継ぐ自然信仰の心を感じてください。熊野地域は日本の近畿地方の南側に位置する紀伊半島にあります。その信仰の対象は紀伊山地の中心から太平洋側にかけての広範囲に渡ります。このVR映像体験で見ることができるのはそのほんの一部に過ぎません。これを体験した人が実際に熊野に訪れてみたくなれば、私達は嬉しく思います。そして、このこの作品はSHINRYOKUプロジェクトのコンセプト作品でもあります。この作品を仕上げるのには、とても多くの時間と努力が必要でした。また多くの人の協力のおかげで作り上げることができました。この場を借りて感謝します。作品はEpisode２に続きます。

Tenkawa-mura, Yoshino-gun, Nara Prefecture is located in the south of the central part of Nara Prefecture, where the mountains of the Omine Mountains called “Kinki Roof” rise. Mount Hakkyogatake, the highest peak of the Kinki region, flows through the Tennokawa River, the source of the Kumano River, and it is cool in summer and cold in winter.
“Menfudo Limestone Cave” is in a village called Tenkawamura Village. This Tenkawamura Village is also known for its Mount Omine known as the part of “UNESCO World Heritage Site under the name Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range”.

Hiking in Japan, Mt Hachigyogatake and Mt Misen, Nara prefecture, Yoshino Kumono national park. 19-20 May 2018 with overnight stay at mountain Lodge on Mount Misen. Mount Hachigyogatake also known as Mount Hakkyō.
Mt. Hachigyogatake is one of the Omine mountains (sacred mountain) in Nara prefecture. With a height of 1914.9 metres. It is the highest mountain in Kinki area and Nara Prefecture.
Mt. Misen is also one of the Omine Mountains and the height is 1895 metres. There is Misen mountain lodge at the top of it where Crown Prince Naruhito stayed once.
Hiking route:
19th May 2018.
Tenkawakawai - Tochiotsuji ( there was a refuge hut, but it was broken and turned over by the wind) - Okamidaira refuge hut ( we had a break there) - Misen mountain lodge ( we stayed here one night with breakfast it cost us 8000 yen each.
20th May 2018:
Misen mountain lodge - Mt. Hachigyogatake - Misen mountain lodge - Benten Forest - west entrance tunnel for car park.

The Kansai region. The region includes the prefectures of Mie, Nara, Wakayama, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, and Shiga. While the use of the terms Kansai and Kinki have changed over history, in most modern contexts the use of the two terms is interchangeable. The urban region of Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto (Keihanshin region) is the second most populated in Japan after the Greater Tokyo Area.
The Kansai region is the cultural and historical heart of Japan with 11% of its land area and 22,757,897 residents as of 2010. The Osaka Plain with the cities of Osaka and Kyoto forms the core of the region, from there the Kansai area stretches west along the Seto Inland Sea towards Kobe and Himeji and east encompassing Lake Biwa, Japan's largest freshwater lake. In the north the region is bordered by the Sea of Japan, to the south by the Kii Peninsula and Pacific Ocean, and to the east by the Ibuki Mountains and Ise Bay. Four of Japan's national parks lie within its borders, in whole or in part. The area also contains six of the seven top prefectures in terms of national treasures. Other geographical features include Amanohashidate in Kyoto Prefecture and Awaji Island in Hyogo.
The Kansai region is often compared with the Kanto region, which lies to its east and consists primarily of Tokyo and the surrounding area. Whereas the Kanto region is symbolic of standardization throughout Japan, the Kansai region displays many more idiosyncrasies – the culture in Kyoto, the mercantilism of Osaka, the history of Nara, or the cosmopolitanism of Kobe – and represents the focus of counterculture in Japan. This East-West rivalry has deep historical roots, particularly from the Edo period. With a samurai population of less than 1% the culture of the merchant city of Osaka stood in sharp contrast to that of Edo, the seat of power for the Tokugawa shogunate.
Many characteristic traits of Kansai people descend from Osaka merchant culture. Catherine Maxwell, an editor for the newsletter Omusubi, writes: Kansai residents are seen as being pragmatic, entrepreneurial, down-to-earth and possessing a strong sense of humour. Kanto people on the other hand are perceived as more sophisticated, reserved and formal, in keeping with Tokyo’s history and modern status as the nation’s capital and largest metropolis.
Kansai is known for its food, especially Osaka, as supported by the saying Kyotoites are ruined by overspending on clothing, Osakans are ruined by overspending on food. Popular Osakan dishes include takoyaki, okonomiyaki, kitsune udon and kushikatsu. Kyoto is considered a mecca of traditional Japanese cuisine. Kansai has many wagyu brands such as Kobe beef and Tajima cattle from Hyogo, Matsusaka beef from Mie and Omi beef from Shiga. Sake is another specialty of the region, the areas of Nada-Gogo and Fushimi produce 45% of all sake in Japan. As opposed to food from Eastern Japan, food in the Kansai area tends to be sweeter, and foods such as natto tend to be less popular.
The dialects of the people from the Kansai region, commonly called Kansai-ben, have their own variations of pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. Kansai-ben is the group of dialects spoken in the Kansai area, but is often treated as a dialect in its own right.
Kansai is one of the most prosperous areas for baseball in Japan. Two Nippon Professional Baseball teams, Hanshin Tigers and Orix Buffaloes, are based in Kansai. Koshien Stadium, the home stadium of the Hanshin Tigers, is also famous for the nationwide high school baseball tournaments. The Kansai Independent Baseball League was founded in 2009. In association football, the Kansai Soccer League was founded in 1966 and currently has 16 teams in two divisions. Cerezo Osaka, Gamba Osaka, and Vissel Kobe belong to J. League Division 1 and Kyoto Sanga F.C. belongs to J. League Division 2, the top professional leagues in Japan.
Mt. Koya Wakayama Japan Okunoin November 30, 2013
Mount Kōya (高野山, Kōya-san?) is the name of mountains in Wakayama Prefecture to the south of Osaka. Also, Kōya-san is a modifying word for Kongōbu-ji (金剛峯寺). There is no one mountain officially called Kōya-san (高野山) in Japan Okunoin is regarded as the most sacred site in Koyasan. It is also the location of the mausoleum for Kobo Daishi, where he is believed to be in eternal meditation since March 21, 835.
Ichi-no-hashi (the first bridge) is the main entrance into this revered place. After crossing the first bridge, there is a 2km cobblestone walkway that leads to the mausoleum of Kobo Daishi. Along this serene path stand hundreds of towering cedar trees and over 200,000 gravestones, in addition to the monuments and memorials to honor historic individuals throughout Japan's history.

と詠われる日本古代史の中心舞台である。
古代史の中心舞台であった奈良盆地では1993年に、
「法隆寺地域の仏教建造物」が文化遺産として、
日本で初めてユネスコの世界遺産に登録され、
1998年には「古都奈良の文化財」も登録された。
また紀伊山地に含まれる県南部には自然が多く残り、
2004年には役行者が開いた峻険な山岳の聖地が
「紀伊山地の霊場と参詣道」として世界遺産に登録されている。
奈良県には日本国の重要文化財に指定される、
建造物のうち実に267件が所在する。
そのうち国宝の建造物は64件で都道府県では国内最多である。

Byodo-In Temple at Valley of The Temples
A smaller replica of the world famous Byodo-In Temple (original in Kansai, Japan) located at Valley of the Temples Memorial park in Kahalu'u, O'ahu, Hawai'i. Located at the base of the Ko'olau mountain range, its a beautiful and peaceful paradise landscaped with lush gardens and ponds filled with Koi. The grounds are meticulously tended over and the temple is a sight to see. The temple is home to Amida, the golden buddha and is unique to the entire world. Upon entering the temple make sure you remove your shoes out of respect to the temple. Mahalo!

大台ケ原ドライブウェイは R169と県道40号の分岐あたりの清流がとてもきれいでした。
「東大台ハイキングコース」４時間コースをまわる時間がなかったので
日出ヶ岳～正木ヶ原１時間程度周遊しました。
”正木ヶ原”は はずせません。ウォーキングコースとしては最高じゃないかなと思います。
