Rostrevor Fairy Glen Park | Autumn in Northern Ireland 2017.
This is one of the well known walking park in this county down area. It takes 15 minutes drive down south from Newry city or 10 minutes from Kilkeel and 5 minutes from Warrenpoint and 15 minutes from Hilltown.
It isn't just a walking park there are so much more. It has a tennis field, Camping field but you might have to pay. I am not sure how much you have to pay. There is also a kids play ground, hiking and biking and a free range gym in the middle of the fields behind the cafe.
The parking has really big space and free. There is a cafe right in the middle of the park. Its free wifi. The last time I went the staff maintained it, I believe. If you don't feel like walking or do one of those activities just sit inside the cafe and oder a latte and go on Facebook if you want. It's also free as well.
Now it's Autumn . The trees started to change it colors. Some trees turn from green to yellow or some turn to pink. It's the best place that I highly recommend if you are a park walking lover.

Tollymore Forest Park in 4K - Newcastle Northern Ireland
Tollymore Forest Park in Newcastle Northern Ireland is one of the first state forest parks in Northern Ireland. It was established in 1955 and is located at Bryansford beside Newcastle. We have to say that this is one of our favorite forest parks in Northern Ireland and one which we enjoy spending our times at.
The park covers camping, biking, walks and was used for two scenes from the hit TV Show - Game of Thrones. Almost all the scenes that appeared in this movie were taken in Northern Ireland, so if you happen to be one of the fans then coming to this country and following those locations could be your next hunt.
Nature is always different and it brings so many bright feelings and times to the person. While walking through Tollymore Forest Park, you will not only come across the different trees, but you will also enjoy the Shimna River that goes through the whole park and which is crossed through 16 bridges found inside, with the earliest and oldest one dating back to 1726 - another interesting thing to do is to count those bridges; we have done that once before :-) (
Choosing the trail that suits you with the length that would be perfect for your abilities is one of the different features that this forest park tend to offer its visitors; there are four different trails in the park which are signposted by different colors to give people the chance to differentiate between them. These trails differ in their length and the longest of them is the long haul trail which is 8 miles long.
The area is almost 630 hectares - which makes about 1,600 kilometers - and has great views of the mountain ranges in the surrounding area - including the Mourne Mountains which is one of the most famous ones in Northern Ireland.
There are several things that differentiate this forest park, whether it is about the different types of trees which tree lovers could enjoy watching or else the views which are provided for those visiting the place, but there will always be a thing that will attract people to this forest park. One of those things which is also beneficial to be mentioned is that the oak wood in Tollymore Forest Park was considered the best to build the interiors of Titanic Ship which was built in Belfast back then (
One of the other things that also make this forest park different from all the others is the entrance gate that welcomes its visitors with, this gate gives people the feeling that they are going to get inside an old church built years and years back and not just a park which they are going to have a nice and different walk inside.
With the huge space that this forest park tends to cover, there are different outdoor activities that could take place in it and which include walking of course, as well as kayaking, caravanning and camping, horse riding and orienteering, and we should also mention the kids space area that is found inside the place and which makes it a perfect match for the families who have kids with them.
One of the interesting kids area in Tollymore forest park is the Big Deer which is designed for four to eleven year olds and which features a giant timber Fallow Deer, castle turret, folly tower and hollow tree, these are all connected to one another with a series of rope bridges, tunnels, spider webs, basket swings and slides - we could definitely be sure that it will keep your kids interested and entertained.
Tollymore Forest Park in 4K - Newcastle Northern Ireland - Perfect for Camping, Walks and GOT. There is an activity centre on site as well - that is often used by schools or groups - the water activities seem to be particularly popular.
There are different forest parks in Northern Ireland which one could visit and enjoy some good time at while being with the family members and the kids. In addition to Tollymore Forest Park ( we have also been to other beautiful parks around the country which we would recommend, such as the famous Botanic Gardens in Belfast ( there is also Castlewellan Forest Park ( we have visited Victoria Park in Belfast before and which is also considered and recognized as one of the oldest ( and there is also Clement Wilson Park in Newforge in Belfast (
There are actually lots of parks and gardens in Northern Ireland and Ireland which you could visit but you should always check the features they have to know whether the one you are heading to will manage to serve your family needs or else will fail.
Visit Tollymore forest park if you haven't been to yet and share your experience with us!

Cloughmore Stone
Overlooking Carlingford Lough and the nearby town of Rostrevor in Co Down, Cloughmore Stone is a large granite boulder that sits on an outcrop of metasedimentary rock. Its name derives from the Irish ‘An Chloch Mór’ (the big stone) and it is a popular feature for walkers and trekkers of all ages to reach and enjoy the excellent views across the region.
Legend has it that the giant Fionn Mac Cumhaill threw the stone from Slieve Foy at Cooley during a fight with a rival Giant.
Kilbroney Old Church and Graveyard
'Cill Bhronaigh', or Bronagh’s Church (12th century), is located in the graveyard just outside Rostrevor on the Hilltown Road. The graveyard contains Saint Bronagh’s Cross, dating from the late 8th century and a ruined 15th century building. There is also a ‘healing well’ said to cure eye and throat ailments. Saint Bronagh’s Bell, from the 6th century is displayed in the local Catholic Church in Rostrevor.

Tollymore Autumn Ramble | Part 1
A trip down to Tollymore Forest Park at the foot of the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland.
Other commitments had kept me away from the Forest the previous few weeks when peak Autumn Colour was around, but I thought it was still good to get out for a few days shooting.
You may notice that a few times I talk about a certain scene and then either show something different or move on. In these cases the image that I was hoping for just didn't work, mostly due to the lack of light.
Still, I thought it useful to talk through my thought process in each one, after all these videos are not just about showing the final image, rather my own journey.
Oh and don't mention that I forgot my polariser / didn't forget my polariser ...
Hope you enjoy ...

Day out on a day off Ep 3 | Kilbroney Park Camping 4D3N
Aug. 20-23, 2019
Basically, this vlog is about our camping experience at Kilbroney Caravan Park at Rostrevor, Newry for four days with our Filipino ates and kuyas who invited me and my housemate Kathlynn to go with them. It was definitely a memorable experience as aside from camping, we also went for a hike to Kilbroney Mountains through the Cloughmore Trail, went fishing, played Bingo, spent time with the fellow Filipino families, and almost got lost in the woods.
I would like to thank our Ate's and Kuya's who have been a great sport and very supportive in my vlog. They can't wait for this video to be finished and it took me three days to finish it as I was working. I squeezed in a few hours after work in making this vlog and this by far, is the longest among the other episodes on this series because there were so much videos in our 4 days and 3 night adventure.
Don't forget to like, subscribe, share and hit on the notification bell so you'll get the latest videos from me and my adventures.

Narnia Trail - CS Lewis - Rostrevor Northern Ireland
Following Narnia Trail while being on a trip after watching the movie - Narnia Trail is found in Kilbroney Park, Rostrevor ( where the kids kept following up with what they have seen in order to reach all the things and spots which might be related to the movie in this park - and they succeeded at getting to their destinations.
The Chronicles of Narnia from which the movie was made and also this trail came to live was a book series written by the British novelist Clive Staples Lewis who was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. CS Lewis has been famously known for several books he has written from which The Chronicles of Narnia is considered one of the top when it comes to fiction and which has been popularized on stage, TV, radio, and cinema and was also the one mostly sold.
This trail - Narnia Trail - which is found in Kilbroney Park ( brings to life the story of Narnia as well as others in this area of the Mournes. The Narnia legends are interpreted along a short family loop trail which starts with the entrance through a wardrobe - just as if one is getting into a magical world - and then leads the visitor to different other stations and themes that include the Beaver's House, the Citadels, the Tree People, the Chairs, the lantern, as well as other things which we managed to lay our hands on before leaving this magical place and getting back out to the real world.
In order to make it much interesting for the kids and related to stories they have seen or other places they have visited before, we decided first to take them the day before to CS Lewis Square in Newtownards Road, Belfast, where they also got the chance to see different sculptures related to the same story and walk among them while following a map given in hand so that they would not miss anything of the trip out ( It was considered a good trip for them although we believe that the Narnia Trail was much more exciting for them with all the walking, running, and searching.
After getting outside this magical place and passing by those different spots inside, we then headed for the next destination - which the kids thought I was mad at first for suggesting and thinking about it, but I was not =) - and which was climbing the mountain to reach up where the Cloughmore Stone is found.
The Cloughmore Stone, which is another important legend - that of the Giant Fionn McCumhaill - linked to the Narnia trail, is a huge granite boulder that is found 1,000 feet above the village of Rostrevor in County Down, Northern Ireland, on a relatively flat area and which we decided to come up for and check in real life instead of always seeing it in pictures - I have to admit, it was tiring but really exciting to come up there to finish the whole trip and plan you have placed down before leaving home.
Due to the tiring day of walking first in the park while trying to find the trail and keeping up with its magical world inside and then going up there to the top to see the Cloughmore Stone - which was the hardest - we had to make a quick stop for dinner at Newcastle before hitting the road and going back home once again (
It is actually one of the good things that one could do in Northern Ireland when it comes to thinking about adventures and parks. Visiting the Narnia Trail and keeping up with the magical world of it inside the park is one thing done in appreciation for the great work of the novelist CS Lewis, but again, that comes in addition to CS Lewis Square that carries different giant sculptures and make people feel that they are real from the way they are created and displayed (
The inspiration of this amazing writer who left behind a wide range of stories and who has the most famous ones which we are running behind everywhere, is always found in these places, making the Irish people reveal the amount of love and appreciation carried for this man and his work (
This was a long day and we had no time to go and visit other places, but for those who might be staying in Newcastle ( there are actually other beautiful places which they could pass by, such as the Tollymore Forest Park ( or for those who are fans of Game of Thrones movie - which most of its scenes where taken in Ireland - they could go and check door number three at the Percy French Restaurant in Newcastle, county Down (
Tell us what did you enjoy the most about our journey and share with us your adventures there if you have already visited before.
