Kildrummy Castle Gardens. Scotland 2011
The gardens, in Aberdeenshire, are not part of the Ancient Kildrummy Castle ruins and the entrance is a little further along from the castle entrance. We would love to visit it again, as we are sure we didn't see all of it. There is a play area and a plant nursery that we didn't get to see and a small tearoom near the ticket entrance..... A very peaceful spot to wander around. Suitable for Children and Family viewing

Culzean Castle Inside 2016
With its dramatic cliff-top setting, Robert Adam architecture, fascinating history and beautiful surroundings, it's easy to see why Culzean Castle is one of Scotland’s most popular visitor attractions.
Surrounded by Culzean Country Park, an extensive estate encompassing lush woodland, landscaped gardens and rugged coastline, this 18th-century Scottish castle couldn't be better placed for a family day out.
You could easily spend an entire day exploring the country park alone, but with so many treasure-filled rooms to see inside the castle, it’s well worth making time to enjoy both elements of this magnificent historic attraction.
The first written references to a tower house at Culzean date to the 1400s although it is possible there was a building here even earlier.
Culzean castle inside:
Beyond the porch lies the Armoury, originally twoo rooms in the Robert Adam design. The inner room by the fireplace, was the entrance Hall. Boasting around 24 different varieties of British Army flintlock pistol, the armoury was established by the 12th Earl as part of his plan to complete the decoration of Culzean. In 1812 he purchased from the Office of the Ordnance at the Tower of London a number of obsolete weapons for display purposes. The collection was also expanded over the years.
In the 1770s the room had been redecorated by Robert Adam who introduced classical motifs of fruit and wine. tapestry and damask, etc. They are always finished with stucco and adorned with statues and paintings.

Old Photographs Alford Aberdeenshire Scotland
Tour Scotland wee video of photographs of Alford, Scottish Gaelic: Athfort, a large village in Aberdeenshire. Situated just south of the River Don. It lies within the Howe of Alford, also called the Vale of Alford. Charles Murray was born on 27 September 1864 in Alford. He was a poet who wrote in the Doric dialect of Scots. He was one of three rural poets from the north east of Scotland, the others being Flora Garry and John C. Milne, who did much to validate the literary use of Scots. In 1924 he settled in Banchory, not far from where he was brought up. There he died in 1941. The narrow gauge railway, built from salvaged equipment from the New Pitsligo peat moss railway, was proposed in 1979 and opened in 1980. Originally it ran for 1.9 miles from Haughton Park station through Murray Park Woods. Then in 1984 another line was run from Alford station, alongside Alford Golf Course, to Haughton Park where there is a platform. However, the original Murray Woods line was then closed. The current station building is on the site of the original granite structure which was demolished after British Rail closed the line. The passenger platform is the original. A small railway museum is housed in the railway station building. The original locomotive shed was situated to the east of the station but this has also now been demolished. To the west of the station the granite carriage shed of the previous railway is now used by the Alford Valley Railway. The Grampian Transport Museum and Alford Heritage Centre are nearby. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
Trip to Craigievar Castle in Scotland
One of the castles buried along the countryside. It's amazing with so few visitors that they can earn enough money to maintain the place.
A little Aerial fun in the Cairngorms (pt3/5)
Some lovely footage of Craigievar Castle... Car park!
Just outside Alford (yea, yea, not the Cairngorms again!)
They had already shut up shop for the day so couldn't get up close...
I was hoping to get some cheeky footage from the air, but its completely hidden from this side!
STIRLING CASTLE: Travel in Scotland!
We took a bus ride from Edinburgh, Scotland to Stirling to explore Stirling's Castle for a day. The bus ride was only an hour long each way and cost a total of £8 for both of us round trip! It was cool seeing more of the beautiful U.K. landscape. We even passed those huge horse head sculptures! It went by too quickly to take any pictures though.
The castle had free tours every hour on the hour from 10 am to 3 pm. Our guide was incredibly friendly (like everyone here in Scotland) and knowledgeable. Since we're members of Historic Scotland our entry into the castle was free!
If you like this video please remember to give it a thumbs up so we continue making more like it, comment if you have any questions or want to tell us about your visit to Scotland, and Subscribe for more videos each week. (^_^)
