Killaloe is a large village in east County Clare, Ireland. The village lies on the River Shannon on the western bank of Lough Derg and is connected by Killaloe Bridge to the twin town of Ballina on the eastern bank of the lake. The surrounding area is popular for hill-walking. The Killaloe Electoral Area is one of six such areas in County Clare and returns four members to Clare County Council. Killaloe is at the center of the Killaloe Civil parish.

Dingle is a small port town on southwest Ireland’s Dingle Peninsula, known for its rugged scenery, trails and sandy beaches. A statue of long-time harbour resident Fungie the dolphin is by the waterfront. Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium has penguins, otters and sharks. To the northwest, Gallarus Oratory is an ancient dry-stone church with sloping sides. Clifftop Dún Beag is a prehistoric promontory fort to the southwest.

Weather and Events:
Dingle has a mild, temperate climate and substantial rainfall year-round. It’s warmest in the summer (Jul–Aug), which is also peak season. Coastal scenery, hills and ancient sites are all featured in the Dingle Walking Festival (Feb). Féile na Bealtaine (Mar/Apr/May) arts festival brings exhibitions, concerts, street theatre and events to town. Dingle Races (Aug) is a horse racing event held at Ballintaggart. Local cuisine is offered at Dingle Food Festival (Sep/Oct), with a taste trail, street entertainments and music.
