Part of IRELAND seen from a motorhome
Join us for a ride in a part of Ring of Kerry, from Kenmare to Killarney in a motorhome.
Voyager Canoe Adventure #6, July 25

They're getting the knack of erecting their dome tents, and spend a carefree afternoon on the beach, jumping off the rocks into the clear cool waters.

LAKE SUPERIOR PARK - 3 Day Backcountry Canoe Camping - Days 2 & 3
Lake Superior Park. 3 day backcountry canoe camping days 2 & 3. Late during night 1 a storm rolled in and it rained throughout the night. We awoke to a water saturated forest and camp accompanied with a strong wind from the north. I spent day 2 making my first ever bow drill which seemed to work. But unfortunately I never got to fully complete. It rained on and off throughout the day and a chill was in the air. We started the fire early in the evening for warmth then proceeded to make supper. The evening was spent sitting by the fire chatting and warming ourselves after a damp day.
During the second night in the backcountry of Lake Superior Provincial Park. Rain found us again. I unfortunately I did not get much sleep because a puddle had formed under the tent and I became cold.
The morning of day 3 was very windy and the temperature had dropped noticeably. We decided to pack up and head out early that afternoon because the weather was continuing to deteriorate.
We paddled across the length of the lake fighting strong winds and ruff waters to get to our portage point. The north end of the lake was much calmer and although tired, the portage was pleasant and went well.

Kite skiing demo for U of Waterloo winter environmental studies field trip students to the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve - February 2009 at Killbear Provincial Park on a blustery winter day. Thanks to head naturalist Kenton Otterbein for the video footage and for hosting us this day. I had a lot of fun skiing - the northwest winds were perfect and the snow nice and soft.
