King fahd's fountain is the tallest in the
world.
The fountain was donated to the city of Jeddah by King Fahd, hence its name. It was constructed between 1980 and 1983 and was launched in 1985.
Located on the west coast of Saudi Arabia, the fountain jets water to a maximum height, according to different sources, of either 260 metres (853 ft)[3][4][5]or 312 m (1,024 ft).

Located in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the King Fahd's Fountain is famous for being the highest fountain in the world, throwing water up to 1023 ft (312m) -- that's taller than the Eiffel Tower, if you exclude the antenna. It uses 3 massive pumps that can deliver 625 litres of water per second at an amazing speed of 233 mph (375 km/h ). The water is propelled through the 126mm (5 inch) nozzles. Traveling to Jeddah, don't forget to pay it a visit, it's incredible.

King Fahd's Fountain, also known as the Jeddah Fountain, is the tallest water fountain in the world. Located in the coast of Jeddah, west coast of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The fountain jets water 312 metres (1,024 ft) above the Red Sea.It was donated to the city of Jeddah by King Fahd, hence its name. The fountain is visible throughout the entire vicinity of Jeddah. The water it ejects can reach a speed of 375 kilometres (233 mi) per hour with a weight exceeding 18 tons. . It was constructed between 1980 and 1983 and began operating in 1985. The fountain uses saltwater taken from the Red Sea instead of freshwater. It uses over 500 spotlights to illuminate the fountain at night.
On Wednesday, 17th February 2010. Othar Lawrence (USA), Red Bull Air Force Sky Diving base-jumper (35 years), has succeeded in achieving a unique global record through a historic leap along King Fahad fountain on Red Sea Corniche, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.[citation needed]
On 27th March 2010, the fountain's lights were turned off in a support for Earth Hour 2010
