Narkanda is a sleepy little town adjacent Shimla that few may consider being an actual destination in and of itself. Yet, here I am, telling you that it should be! Why you ask! Well, the hidden gem of Narkanda is an offbeat location in Dev Bhoomi Himachal, with its charm still intact and its connectivity above normal standards.
Most people use it as a transit point to Kinnaur Valley or Spiti Valley. But, Narkanda also provides you with plenty of options to relax and enjoy the hills, as it should be, while also being an upcoming adventure sports destination. The treks in the surrounding woods, the beauty of the Sutlej river underneath, the snow-capped mountains with perfect slopes to learn how to ski and the views to enchant the soul – Narkanda has it all.
Rampur Bushahr is the last capital of the Bushahr or Bashahr dynasty that ruled Shimla & Kinnaur regions for a long time. If you go by legends, they trace their ancestry to Pradyumna – the Son of Lord Krishna.
The Rampur palace is one of the most well maintained palaces of the area. It is huge, with well laid out gardens, rich wealth of trees and the ambiance of serenity around. The most fascinating aspect of the palace is its neatness and the architectural variety.
The palace was built in 1917 during the time of Raja Padam Dev Singh and is rightly called Padam Palace.

Jubbal is a town and a nagar panchayat in Shimla district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
History of jubbal state goes back to 12th century. Among the 18 thakuries located in the valleys of Sutlej, Pabbar and Giri this thakurrai was of considerable importance. Rulers of Jubbal belong to the rathore clan. During 12th century The ugar chand The raja of Sirmaur, had a summer palace in Soonpur, The modern hatkoti, which is overlooked by the plateau of Sonnpur, on the right bank of the pabbar river. While he was having pleasant company with his family he had to go back to sirmaur leaving royal family behind. Due to heavy rainfall river giri got flooded and capital of the state was swept away and the royal family lost its ancestral possessions the sirmur state forever to a prince of jaisalmer.
The princely state of Jubbal was founded in 1800. It was occupied by Nepal from 1803 to 1815 and by the British from 1832 to 1840. The rulers who belonged to the Rathore clan took the title of Rana. The last ruler Rana Baghat Chandra took the title of Raja in 1918.
Jubbal State had an area of 288 square miles and was famous for its dense forests of 'deodar' trees. Today, Jubbal is reputed for its apple orchards which provide its residents their main source of income. The town of Jubbal is about 100 kilometres from Simla.

shimla kalibari / shimla mall / sarahan palace / shimla city / himachal tour
Shimla also known as Simla, is the capital and the largest city of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla is also a district which is bounded by Mandi and Kullu in the north, Kinnaur in the east, the state of Uttarakhand in the south-east, and Solan and Sirmaur. In 1864, Shimla was declared as the summer capital of British India, succeeding Murree, northeast of Rawalpindi. After independence, the city became the capital of Punjab and was later named the capital of Himachal Pradesh. It is the principal commercial, cultural and educational centre of the state.
Small hamlets were recorded prior to 1815 when British forces took control of the area. The climatic conditions attracted the British to establish the city in the dense forests of Himalayas. As the summer capital, Shimla hosted many important political meetings including the Simla Accord of 1914 and the Simla Conference of 1945. After independence, the state of Himachal Pradesh came into being in 1948 as a result of integration of 28 princely states. Even after independence, the city remained an important political centre, hosting the Simla Agreement of 1972. After reorganisation of state of Himachal Pradesh, the existing Mahasu district was named Shimla. Its name is derived from the goddess Shyamala Devi, an incarnation of the Hindu goddess Kali.
Shimla is home to a number of buildings that are styled in the Tudorbethan and neo-Gothic architectures dating from the colonial era, as well as multiple temples and churches. The colonial architecture and churches, the temples and the natural environment of the city attracts tourists. Attractions include the Viceroy Lodge, the Christ Church, the Jakhoo Temple, the Mall Road and the Ridge, which together form the city centre. The Kalka–Shimla Railway line built by the British, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also a major tourist attraction. Owing to its steep terrain, Shimla hosts the mountain biking race MTB Himalaya, which started in 2005 and is regarded as the biggest event of its kind in South Asia. Shimla also has the largest natural ice skating rink in South Asia. Apart from being a tourism centre, the city is also an educational hub with a number of colleges and research institutions.

Tirthan Valley, Himachal Pradesh - In the Nature's Lap
This time, we take you to Tirthan Valley. A less frequented and peaceful place in Himachal Pradesh. Part of this valley falls in the Great Himalayan National Park, and offers some great adventures.
With guest houses, and hotels coming up at great speed in these parts, it may not remain as pristine for long though. Plan a trip here soon!

Kalpa at a Glance HD - Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh 2014 Memories -- Vid 10
Kalpa (9,711') will rank as the prime destination in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Spending 28th April evening till 30th morning, there was a lot for us to see and experience. At daybreak, the sun rises from behind the snow- peaks, sending shafts of bright light, to augur the beginning of a new day. On a clear day, visible Himalayan peaks are Kinnaur Kailash, Jorkanden and Ralden among others in their pristine glory. The Shivling - a 70' high stone mass looking very small through naked eye, gets a better look through a pair of binoculars or tele -- lens of Handycam. The landscape captured from hotel room picks up the Apple Blossom in foreground, the cottages in mid-ground and snow -- peaks in the backdrop. Being in early summer, the apple blossoms and cherry blossoms are visible at every possible tree planted in many fruit orchards on both sides of the road. A walk to Baazar yields in addition to shopping, the sightseeing of a Hindu temple and a Buddhist temple. A morning walk to Van Vihar and through the small foot trail amidst the dense greens, keeps one refreshed. The sightseeing places from Kalpa namely Roghi village 5 km, Kothi village - Chadrika devi temple 5 km and suicide point 4 km takes away the most of the day. The adventure loving tourist has the option of trekking 3 km to Chakha right up to glacier by following the path by the water channel perpendicular to Roghi road. Not to be missed event is the evening sunset - the sun calls it a day by caressing the Himalayan peaks and splashing it in blushing pink.
