Riyadh Kingdom Centre, Saudi Arabia
The Kingdom Centre symbolises Saudi Arabia’s important economic and cultural growth over the past few years. It is an ambitious project that represents a country that is working to reduce its reliance on oil to become a hub for trade, finance, tourism and culture.
It was designed to house the Kingdom Holding head office, the luxury “Four Seasons Hotel”, offices and residential apartments, a shopping centre, a conference centre, a sports centre with a swimming pool and tennis courts, open-air and underground parking.
The complex consists of a 30-storey central tower, topped by a 120 m crescent-shaped steel structure, and two adjoining side buildings. The 300 m high tower is the tallest construction of its type in the Middle East and in Europe. It has transformed the skyline of Riyadh. At its 77th floor is located the world's highest mosque.
Since its completion, the centre has won international awards like the Emporis Skyscraper Award for being the world's best designed skyscraper.
Sky Bridge Experience At Kingdom Tower Riyadh || مركز المملكة ||No 45
This vlog is my sky bridge experience at Kingdom tower,Riyadh-Saudi Arabia.
Kingdom Centre ( مركز المملكة) is a 99-storey, 302.3 m (992 ft) skyscraper in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is the fifth-tallest skyscraper in the country, whose tallest two buildings are the Abraj Al Bait Towers and the Capital Market Authority Tower. It is the world's third-tallest building with a hole after the Shanghai World Financial Center and the 85 Sky Tower in Taiwan.
It was developed by Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal and designed by architects Ellerbe Becket and Omrania in joint venture. When completed in 2002, it overtook the Faisaliyah Tower, which – at 267 metres – was the tallest tower in Riyadh at that time.
Besides the shopping mall, Kingdom Tower contains the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh and apartments. There is a 65m skybridge atop the skyscraper.
The building is situated on a 100,000–square metre site, with parking for 3,000 vehicles. The building structure consists of two systems: reinforced concrete columns, beams and core for the first 180 meters, and a steel frame structure for the building‘s remaining height. The foundation is a four-meter-thick, 3,100-square-meter raft foundation.
The upper third of the tower features an inverted parabolic arch. The building uses butt jointed glazing, combined with the lack of both distinguished floor lines and other tall buildings around it.[8] The lower two thirds were constructed with a reinforced concrete frame while the top third has a tubular steel frame.
The Sky Bridge sits atop the tower. It is a 300-ton steel structure, taking the form of an enclosed corridor with windows on both sides. After paying the admission fees, visitors take two elevators to reach that level

The Kingdom Centre is located in the heart of Riyadh’s prestigious Al-Olaya retail district. The Project site occupies an area of approximately 96,000 m². The development integrates multiple uses which are grouped in three primary components: a 300m high tower, a three-level Podium and below grade parking for 3,200 cars and service facilities.
The Kingdom Centre was one of Riyadh’s first skyscrapers and, when it was completed in 2002, it was the tallest in Saudi Arabia. Such a feat would not be possible without close collaboration between the design and engineering teams, as well as the myriad collaborators and subcontractors involved with the project. Structurally, the building consists of two systems: for the first 180 meters, reinforced concrete columns and beams connected to a reinforced concrete core carry the load down to the four-meter-thick, 3,100-square-meter raft foundation. The building‘s remaining height is supported by a more versatile steel structure, due to the complex shape created by the inverted arched opening at the top.
Working in unison with the structural and spatial design, a variety of complex but seamlessly integrated mechanical and electrical systems maintain a consistent indoor environment despite the intense demands of both Riyadh’s climate and the Kingdom Centre‘s mixed-use program.
On the exterior, the Kingdom Centre is wrapped in a sophisticated glass curtain wall that is engineered with a special heat-resistant coating to withstand the typically strong sunlight of the region. Unoccupied floors surrounding the inverted arch opening are clad in a matching metal panel to create a seamless architectural form.
Although Riyadh has grown a lot since the building‘s completion, and the skyline has developed rapidly with a plethora of glass towers, the Kingdom Centre remains a landmark in the city and an icon for the entire country. Its central location, distinct design, and diverse program all contribute to its enduring cultural and architectural prominence.
