The Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve, close to Chichester and part of the South Downs National Park, is known for its collect of ancient yews, among the other wildlife on site. A field trip with the Travel and Earth Mysteries Society visiting the nature reserve of Kingley Vale, near Chichester. Brian Savage, the Warden, guided us round the site, showing us the ancient yew wood on its lower part, and the tumuli and dew ponds on the summit, and showed us the variety of wildlife there. We also see the leys that cross the reserve, one of which goes to Chichester Cathedral, which is visible from the summit.

Chichester is a cathedral city in West Sussex, in South-East England. Chichester is the only city in West Sussex and is its county town. Chichester has a long history as a settlement from Roman times and was important in Anglo-Saxon times.
Chichester is the seat of a bishopric, with a 12th-century cathedral, and is home to some of the oldest churches and buildings in Great Britain. Chichester has three tiers of local government. Chichester is a transport hub, and a centre for culture in the county, with a theatre, museum and art galleries. Chichester Harbour and the South Downs provide opportunities for outdoor pursuits.
The City of Chichester is located on the River Lavant south of its gap through the South Downs. This winterbourne for part of its course now runs through the city in underground culverts. Chichester has an Oceanic climate. With its position in southern England, Chichester has mild winters and cool summers. It has high sunshine levels compared to other parts of the UK with around 1900 hours annually.
Chichester is the hub of several main roads. The most important of these is the A27 coastal trunk road (connecting Eastbourne with Southampton) which passes to the south of the city. Chichester railway station, on the West Coastway Line, has regular services to Brighton, London Victoria via Gatwick Airport, Portsmouth and Southampton. There are also many bus services, with Chichester bus station, adjacent to the railway station, acting as a local hub. Chichester Airport is north of the city.

'Intentional' photography: Ancient yew trees at Kingley Vale, West Sussex
One of my aims this year is to be more 'intentional' with my landscape photography. I often go out without a clear idea in my mind of the sort of photograph I want to take, so on this recent trip to Kingley Vale near Chichester in West Sussex I decided to take a different approach. Kingley Vale is known for it's ancient yew trees, and I had a particular composition in mind for this location.

MTB Ride - Kingley Vale Area, West Sussex
The quality of this video is not so good! Firstly, because it was taking so long to upload the 1.74GB 1080P HD movie taken on my GoPro to You Tube I decided to see if there was a work around to getting it uploaded quicker. I found Any Video Converter Light - which has Auto settings for You Tube, which I used! Yes it got the video uploaded in about 15 mins, but having extracted every last drop of video quality first!! Then of course there is the problem of your background music. You can't play your videos on mobile devices if there is any sort of copyright infringement, so that means you then have to remove the sound track. To get over this I moved to the
You Tube Video editor: (
This allowed me to keep the video posted but remove the offending sound tracks and put one of their own on. It works, but you can't put more than one track on, so during this video you will hear the original soundtrack and the you tube track until it finishes, then there is no background music at all until (in my case) the royalty free bit at the end from Apple. Hope that goes some way to explaining how this has ended up and created.
If someone can tell me what the best way is to get my top quality Go Pro movies uploaded quickly, I'd appreciate it. I don't have cable - so I know that much. I want High Quality HD 1080p productions on You Tube!!
