Kingston Thousand Island Dinner Cruise Trip | John In Canada
Hello everyone! Welcome to my channel!
In this series, I am going to show you guys my country -- beautiful Canada.
This time I will take you guys to the beautiful Thousand Islands on the border between the US and Canada -- Kingston.
The Thousand Islands constitute an archipelago of 1,864 islands that straddles the Canada–US border in the Saint Lawrence River as it emerges from the northeast corner of Lake Ontario. They stretch for about 50 miles (80 km) downstream from Kingston, Ontario. The Canadian islands are in the province of Ontario, the U.S. islands in the state of New York. Canada is home to the majority of islands with just over two-thirds in Ontario.
The 1,864 islands range in size from over 40 square miles (100 km2) to smaller islands occupied by a single residence, or uninhabited outcroppings of rocks that are only home to migratory waterfowl. To count as one of the Thousand Islands, emergent land within the river channel must have at least one square foot (0.093 m2) of land above water level year-round, and support at least two living trees. --wikipedia

Wolfe Island Thousand Islands Travel Guide | Ferry from Kingston Ontario Canada
Wolfe Island Thousand Islands Travel Guide | Ferry from Kingston Ontario Canada. Today we've got an exciting afternoon trip that we're going to be taking. We're going to Wolfe Island, which is just off of Kingston. We're going to be taking a ferry. The best part about it is that it is free. We're just going to be having a really cool time over there. We're planning on doing a lot of walking just wandering around to get away from the city for a little while.

After spending the morning touring historic downtown Kingston and Queen's University we decided to take a free 20 minute ferry, boarding the Wolfe Islander III, over to Wolfe Island.
The ferry runs daily throughout the year starting at 5:45 am with a final run at 2 AM.
As the largest of the world-renowned Thousand Islands, the 29 kilometer long Wolfe Island is situated at the entrance of the Saint Lawrence River in Lake Ontario.
We're out here on Wolfe Island and it is a Friday afternoon and the streets are pretty empty. We've just been driving around the island and pulling over whenever we see something interesting. We just found some cows over here in a field so we're photographing them. Yeah.
This is the kind of cute little island where you'll enjoy the slower pace of life, farmland, windmills, beaches and other recreational activities.
We are here at the ferry terminal and this must be the smallest border inspection area I've ever seen.
For those with time to spare, you can cross over to the United States via ferry from Wolfe Island to Cape Vincent, New York with frequent daily routes between May to October.
This is awesome. I've never been so close to a windmill before.
Other attractions on Wolfe Island include a corn maze, bicycle routes, a golf course and country roads.
What are you doing? We stopped for a little ice cream break. I'm having black cherry and strawberry and this is what you're having. And you've got it in your hand. It look gross. Are you going to eat it? It looks gross. Yeah. Rude.
With time to spare before we caught our Ferry back to Kingston, we enjoyed eating ice cream, tanning and walking out on the pier.
Our time went by so quickly and before we knew it we were boarding the ferry again.
Along the way you'll spot wildlife, pass various other boats and have a great view of the Royal Military College of Canada campus.
If you're visiting Kingston, Wolfe Island is a perfect little day trip -- especially during the summer months.
We enjoyed a nice family outing and we hope to back again soon.

ATI FOUNDATION: Kingston City and Thousand Islands Cruise
06/29/2017: ATI Foundation's Field Trip to Kingston City and Thousand Islands Cruise
One of the most exciting activities that we do each year, and all of our ATI family members look forward to, is going on FIELD TRIPS! This year, on Thursday, June 28, we went to Kingston City and the Thousand Islands cruise. Majority of us started the day at 6:30 AM, and returned home around 11:30 PM (didn't even notice the time flew by)! Ever since we departed Toronto, we had lots of fun singing karaoke in the 56-passenger FULL coach bus, and shared sentimental moments upon our return. A HUGE thank you to all of our volunteers who made this day successful! A special mention about our sponsor, New Quality Bread Bakery, for feeding us throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who attended, assisted, and planning the execution of this trip... Until next time!
Annai Thantha Illam Foundation (ATI Foundation) is a nonprofit cross-disability organization that empowers Canadian Tamils with disabilities to realize their potential and achieve their goals. Since our foundation in 2014, our mission has continued to be focused on providing a nexus of support for both the Canadian Tamils, who face challenges with mental and physical conditions, but also their caregivers, who are often in need of respite and supportive care.
