I was a nice evening and I felt like taking some vid. It is nice living 5 minutes away from such a nice place. Lots of friendly people asking questions. Lots of Natts, or Mayflies. It was fun. This is distilled from 2 5 minute flights.

After spending the morning touring historic downtown Kingston and Queen's University we decided to take a free 20 minute ferry, boarding the Wolfe Islander III, over to Wolfe Island.
The ferry runs daily throughout the year starting at 5:45 am with a final run at 2 AM.
As the largest of the world-renowned Thousand Islands, the 29 kilometer long Wolfe Island is situated at the entrance of the Saint Lawrence River in Lake Ontario.
We're out here on Wolfe Island and it is a Friday afternoon and the streets are pretty empty. We've just been driving around the island and pulling over whenever we see something interesting. We just found some cows over here in a field so we're photographing them. Yeah.
This is the kind of cute little island where you'll enjoy the slower pace of life, farmland, windmills, beaches and other recreational activities.
We are here at the ferry terminal and this must be the smallest border inspection area I've ever seen.
For those with time to spare, you can cross over to the United States via ferry from Wolfe Island to Cape Vincent, New York with frequent daily routes between May to October.
This is awesome. I've never been so close to a windmill before.
Other attractions on Wolfe Island include a corn maze, bicycle routes, a golf course and country roads.
What are you doing? We stopped for a little ice cream break. I'm having black cherry and strawberry and this is what you're having. And you've got it in your hand. It look gross. Are you going to eat it? It looks gross. Yeah. Rude.
With time to spare before we caught our Ferry back to Kingston, we enjoyed eating ice cream, tanning and walking out on the pier.
Our time went by so quickly and before we knew it we were boarding the ferry again.
Along the way you'll spot wildlife, pass various other boats and have a great view of the Royal Military College of Canada campus.
If you're visiting Kingston, Wolfe Island is a perfect little day trip -- especially during the summer months.
We enjoyed a nice family outing and we hope to back again soon.
This is part of our Travel in Canada series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Canadian culture, Canadian arts, Canadian foods, Canadian religion and Canadian people.

Winter Kingston Ontario Lake front (video by Cutgraphic.com)
It is February 15th and there is a break in the cold weather. Lake Ontario is totally frozen over between Kingston and Wolf Island. It has not been this way in years. I am out on the ice in 2 separate locations to take video of the shore line from the ice. We see bits of Lake Ontario Park, and a boy runs out to see my quad and ask questions like how high does it go, and make it go faster. I move downtown to Kingston Yacht club, and the Steam Museum, and end up near the harbor near city hall. We see RMC across the channel, The Wolf Island ferry and the open water channel for the ferry.

Where it all Began - Kingston, Ontario
Founded in 1673, and named Canada's first capitol in 1841 (yup that's right, our nation's first capitol was in Kingston, not Ottawa!), Kingston still retains some of that old-world charm but mixes it with a bustle of activity which makes it one of the greatest cities in Canada.
Kingston is known for its historic properties, as reflected in the city's motto where history and innovation thrive. The municipality has nearly 700 properties listed in the heritage register, 20 National Historic Sites and in 2007, the Rideau Canal, along with the fortifications at Kingston, was designated a World Heritage Site, one of only 15 such sites in Canada. All these places are responsible for the historic and architectural face of the city but it's the cities two universities, Queen's University and the Royal Military College of Canada (Canada's only military university), that give the place it's energy, enthusiasm and vigor! Queens University currently has an enrollment of more than 13,000 undergraduate and 4,000 graduate students, which means there is no shortage of nightlife in the city! But despite all this partying, Kingston still has the most PhD's per capita of any city in Canada.
The city is also famous for its fresh-water sailing, and hosted the sailing events for the 1976 Summer Olympics. Since 1972, Kingston has hosted more than 40 World and Olympic sailing championships. And on another important sporting note Kingston lays claim to being the birthplace of ice hockey!
Kingston is in the heart of Canada located midway between Toronto and Montreal. Paired up with a trip to one of Canada's other great cities or just as a destination onto itself Kingston is a great city to explore and enjoy.
There is a reason Kingston is still the Heartbeat of Canada.
