Leominster is a market town in Herefordshire, England, and is located at the confluence of the River Lugg and its tributary the River Kenwater, approximately 12 miles north of the city of Hereford and approx 7 miles south of the Shropshire border, 11 miles from Ludlow in Shropshire.
From 1974 to 1996, Leominster served as the administrative centre for the former local government district of Leominster District. Leominster is also the historical home of Ryeland sheep, a breed once famed for its Lemster [sic] wool, known as 'Lemster ore'. This wool was prized above all other English wool in trade with the continent of Europe in the Middle Ages. It was the income and prosperity from this wool trade that established the town and the minster and attracted the envy of the Welsh and other regions.
Leominster railway station has Arriva Trains Wales services on the Welsh Marches Line, northbound to Manchester Piccadilly via Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Crewe as well as Holyhead via Shrewsbury, Wrexham General and Chester and southbound to Milford Haven or Cardiff Central via Hereford and Abergavenny and Newport; links to London Paddington are achieved by changing at Hereford, for services via Worcester and Oxford, or at Newport, South Wales.

Great News! - Big announcement!
Hello and welcome to The AceDestroyer! Today I have some incredible news for you, I can finally say that I have identified the grave of an unknown soldier of the Great War. Very happy that I can finally announce what I have been doing for the past couple of years. Mind you, I was not the only one who handed in a case to the CWGC so the two other research, who I sadly enough don’t know deserve as much credit! I can announce that I have identified the grave of Captain William Miles Kington of the 1st battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Captain Kington was killed on the 20th of October 1914 when the Germans attacked the battalion with great numbers. For all these years Captain Kington was buried in Tyne Cot Cemetery without anybody knowing it. Until now! Thanks to the research cases from the 2 researchers and myself, the Ministry of Defence has acknowledged the final resting place of Captain William Miles Kington. I was over the moon with the news as this is my first ever case. I have however submitted several more cases, but they still need to be investigated by the Ministry of Defence.
If you want to stay up to date on this incredible news, I advise you to check out my Facebook page. Hereby the links I promised to add:
Pictures in the video are from myself and of the Imperial War
Museum.
Here’s an additional link if you want to know more about the rededication ceremony which will take place on the 19th of June 2019 in Tyne Cot Cemetery at 15h30.

Sinking Ship Simulator: The Royal Navy's Damage Repair Instructional Unit
- with many, many thanks to the Royal Navy and everyone at HMS Excellent!
How do you train sailors to save a sinking ship? Sure, you can teach them the theory, but there's no replacement for having to hammer softwood wedges into deck and bulkhead splits that are spraying cold, high-pressure water in your face.
At HMS Excellent in Portsmouth sits Hazard, a Royal Navy Damage Repair Instructional Unit (DRIU). Every Navy recruit who's going out to sea will have to go through something like this -- and on a much harder level than we did! But then, they'll have had months of training and teamwork beforehand...
