Japanese Historical Site - First Yayoi Village in Itazuke
In Fukuoka, Kyushu is the small reconstructed site of a Yayoi village in the Itazuke area. It's believed to be one for the first villages of the Yayoi culture.
The Yayoi Period began around 300 BC (though some say earlier) primarily in Kyushu before spreading through the rest of the country. Yayoi replaced the earlier Jomon culture of hunters and gatherers introducing advanced rice-growing techniques.
Yayoi may have also introduced war as the village in Itazuke has defensive moats and later Yayoi sites have shown evidence of violent deaths.
I went here a few years ago and with my usual speed I'm just now uploading this.

Beautiful Japanese Shrine [Otake Hiroshima Prefecture]
During our most recent trip to Hiroshima Prefecture, specifically a city called Otake not far from the Yamaguchi Prefecture boarder, we found this beautiful shrine. This shrine is nestled in the mountains not too far from the main road. It's a shinto shrine which is referred to as 大歳神社 which can be translated to Dasai Shrine or Otoshi Shrine. Unfortunately I do not have specifics on this particular shrine at this time.
These shrines, which are marked on maps as Dasai Shrine are located throughout the local area and likely throughout Japan. They can range in size from massive to relatively small. Although I cannot seem to find information on the shrine itself I can tell by some of the signage, cleanliness and such that it must be relatively popular amongst the neighborhood at very least.
I will continue to try and find more information about this particular shrine. If you have any questions or would like to contribute to finding information about this particular shrine please feel free to send me a message or put the information in the comments below. Thank you for watching!

Edo's Popular People, Mito Komon, an important lord related to the Tokugawa Shogun. He was based in Mito, Ibaraki Pref. Most people know him through the popular Mito Komon TV series, where he is shown traveling around incognito to help people being oppressed by corrupt officials, etc. When he reveals his real identity to the villains, they instantly go down on their knees and maybe even poop in their pants.

Seven Gods of Good Fortune Shichifukujin 七福神 The seven lucky gods are deities of Buddhist, Taoist, Shinto, and Hindu origins. Ebisu, Daikokuten, Benzaiten, Jurojin, Fukurokuju, Bishamonten and Hotei represent the essential human virtues: dignity, kindness, magnanimity, frankness, popularity, prosperity, and longevity. These gods became patrons of business, agriculture, art, wisdom, long life, luck, and happiness.
On New Year's Eve the seven gods enter port together on their treasure ship (takarabune 宝船) to bring happiness to everyone. On the night of January First you should put under your pillow a picture of the gods aboard. If you have a lucky dream that night you will be lucky for the whole year. Another tradition is to make a pilgrimage (meguri) to seven shrines or temples dedicated to the seven gods. It is also thought that if a person rubs the image of Daikokuten prosperity and wealth will come to him or her.
Seven has been an auspicious number around the world. Ancient Japan was divided into seven districts, there are seven basic principles of the Samurai's philosophy, the Japanese Star Festival (Tanabata) is on the seventh day of the seventh month, a baby's birth is celebrated on the seventh day, a death is mourned for seven days and again after seven weeks. In Japanese Buddhism there are seven reincarnations.

Golden Dragon Dance Kinryu no Mai 金龍の舞 celebrates a tiny gold image of Kannon found by two brothers from their fishing net in the Sumidagawa River. Legend tells that one thousand pine trees suddenly appeared overnight around the temple and three days later a golden dragon descended into the pine trees from the heaven.
White Heron Dance Shirasagi no Mai 鷺の舞 is one thousand years old. It is a religious rite to drive out the plague and purify the spirits on their passage to the next world. The white faces of the dancers signify innocence, purity and gentleness.

Kunchi Nagasaki Festival
Nagasaki Kunchi is a vibrant, energetic autumn festival celebrating local deity worshiped at Suwa Shrine and has a history of around 380 years. This festival starts from October 7th and ends on 9th of October in accordance with solar calendar. Thus, the festival is named Kunchi which is derived from word `Ku-Nichi` meaning the 9th day. Large number of tourist flocks to experience a spectacular environment of this festival from every corner of Japan as well as China and South Korea. The performances at this event not only include Japanese folk dances, but also incorporates different aspects of Chinese and Dutch cultures like Chinese dragon dance and Dutch comedies.
The festival highlight is the Hono-Odori in which Odori-cho, the towns in charge, takes a turn to perform dance every year. Each Odori-cho takes charge only once in every seven years. Since the Suwa Shrine where the main celebration takes place is a bit far away from downtown Nagasaki, they do some performances in front of Nagasaki station as well nowadays making it more convenient for tourist with less time to experience this fantastic, only in Nagasaki festival.

Parade of the Seven Gods of Prosperity
Eckerd College student Alexandra Andy Kardasz '16 captured this video during her winter term course called Language Immersion in Japan.
Andy writes: This is a video I took of the Parade of the Seven Gods of Prosperity that was being performed at a very small shrine in Tokyo. It was a great chance to be a part of a large piece of the culture.

Good day, everyone.
Showcasing the symphony of action sequences, fight scenes and music scores - the essentials of action choreography is the sole reason behind the uploaded video.
Sharing their penchant for the best cinematic effects often at the expense of their own safety, the firebrand crew of stuntmen and action stars have shed BLOOD, TEARS and SWEAT to present their epics to us, the audience.
The tour de force not only keeps us at the edge of our seats, more importantly, transcends anthropological barriers effortlessly.
Throughout my life, I have been blessed with these timeless masterpieces and by sharing them, I hope that you will enjoy the action as much as I do.
May their legend live on!

(English subtitles 中文字幕) FF8 Final Fantasy 8 VIII Eyes on Me Faye Wong 最终幻想 太空战士 王菲 HD HQ BTS 高清
B.T.S. Blood, Tears & Sweat
(Anecdote and musing enclosed;
Every Final Fantasy fan has a favourite instalment.
Unquestionably for me, FF8 is it.
What draws me to FF8 is more the song, Eyes on Me than the game itself.
I can still recall the fateful day when I first chanced upon Faye Wong's lovely tune at a video game shop 20 years ago, in 1999 and fell in love with it instantaneously.
Without second thought, I then took the plunge and purchased the Playstation console simply to play FF8 and hear the song again.
This love-at-first-sight phenomenon would replay for the last time on 3 November 2000 Friday when I met my wife for the very first time.
At the spur of the moment, I imagined myself to be Laguna Loire and desired to shower all my love upon her.
Sure, my Darling is not Raine Loire and is very much alive and even healthier than me.
But you get the drift.
FF8 is so evocative and visceral to me that watching Laguna propose to Raine during the ending sequence makes my eyes well up.
Such intensity of emotions emanating from a video game renders FF8 all the more unforgettable.
Therefore, with this video, I hope that the FF8 fans will relive the poignancy of FF8 gameplay and love Eyes on Me just like before, in 1999.
